pore minimizing

pore minimizing

this powder sets well, it helps my foundation, minimises my pores and reduces shine

- Mecca User

i am so glad i did, absolutely in love with this powder, it's so smooth and fills in my pores making my skin look flawless

- Mecca User

texture

smooth

on those days i will dust incandescent light on my cheeks, and this is a highlight i am comfortable to put in a large area of my face because it is more natural and does not accentuate my textured skin (i had acne prone skin in my teenage years so my skin is not the smoothest in the world)don't get me wrong, incandescent light still provides a very noticeable glow, but its glitter particle is just much finer than many other highlighters in the market

- Sephora User

i love how my skin feels silky smooth after i’ve applied it

- Mecca User

brightness

brightening

the incandescent i use to very elegantly highlight my cheekbones and the radiant light gives a very natural warmth around the perimeters of my face

- John Lewis User

i love love love this it looked great over my by terry opulent in radiant and the finish was lovely and fresh looking

- Nk User

under eye

good for under eye

this powder is so finely milled , the dim light is very fine especially for setting under eye concealer and doesn't cake at all , just gives a beautiful light to the skin

- Spacenk User

long lasting as well, keep my makeup a whole day, especially for my under eye area and i can finally apply eye lashes without concerns with this product

- Mecca User

weight

lightweight

beautiful finish, not cakey at all

- Sephora User

my skin didn’t look cakey like it usual does with regular powder it looked natural and i love that

- Sephora User

flashback

no flashback

oh and no flashback yay

- Sephora User

no flash back

- Sephora User

blendability

blends well

it is finely milled, and blends into you skin seamlessly

- Sephora User

i use dim light and radiant light blended together in my cheek hollows and incandescent on the bone, under my blush and contour colors

- Sephora User

staying power

longlasting

step aside laura mercier, i have a new love that stays on all day and night, protects my makeup, prevents my oily face from seeping thru and the best thing its talc- free, thank you

- Sephora User

it went on very easily, and this product helped my makeup to last all day

- Sephora User

color accuracy

doesn't oxidize

plus, it doesn't melt off your face after a few hours or oxidize on your skin (looking at you, tarte)

- Sephora User

it doesn't give you that dry powder face, it doesn't cake, it doesn't change the color of your foundation, it is perfection

- Sephora User

finish

demi-matte

this leaves a demi matte finish, so you still get a beautiful glow all day

- Sephora User

this powder provides a great semi-matte finish, but manages to blur pores and fine lines also

- Spacenk User

coverage

medium coverage

i wear medium to full coverage foundations, bb cream and this is the perfect powder to set my makeup

- Sephora User

i normally use a small amount of light to medium coverage foundation any concealer for blemishes followed by a loose translucent setting powder that i buff out

- Sephora User

best use

packing product

i have a quite oily skin and i find this mops up oil and keeps my makeup together throughout the day without adding weight and i find that some powders can add an extra layer almost of products causing makeup to look aged and imperfect, almost ill applied

- Spacenk User

moreover, i love the package of the product

Hourglass, will you accept this rose?

I’ve tried every setting powder under the sun, from every price point. This one completely blew them all out of the water. Like many others, I had a certain cult favorite setting powder as a holy grail for several years- but over the past year grew bored and unimpressed. As I’ve searched for my new holy grail (without success) - I discovered that the Hourglass combined all the features I liked about each setting powder I’ve been testing into one product. The color is perfect, even for my fair skin, because it doesn’t leave you with the dreaded flashback Mary white cast many others do, and gives a natural finish. The coverage feels and looks like skin, and worked seamlessly with my HG vanish stick foundation. No problems with dry patches. I liked that there was no noticeable scent as my skin is sensitive, and after a month of use- no breakouts! The staying powder was also great, even at the end of the day when makeup started to wear off, I would get shiny- but it didn’t rub or flake off in awkward patches as some setting powders tend to do. I am a combo skin girl, and this is one of the few setting powders I think both oily and dry girls could use with ease. A little goes a long way, so I was very happy with product amount. The powder itself is extremely finely milled. And as always, Hourglass has the most gorgeous packaging on the market. It feels and looked heavy/luxurious, and the inside sifter has helped save a lot of product. I received this product complimentary for review purposes, but all opinions are my own. « less

Non-cakey coverage seals the deal.

Upon initially trying this product, I wasn't sure that I would be impressed with it. Girl, was I wrong. Using it with light makeup, it provides a nice little finish to an otherwise ordinary look. But, applying the setting powder over foundation and full-coverage makeup was what won me over. Everything stays intact for 24-hour coverage - in rain, shine, and deep south summer skin-melting humidity. The powder is very light. As someone with very fair skin, it was shockingly a lighter shade. Despite it's underwhelming appearance, it blends seamlessly and seals makeup to a flawless finish that will last until the day after tomorrow, even in Georgia heat. It doesn't look cakey like some powders do, especially in fine lines or wrinkles. it just sort of vanishes and leaves smooth skin. Overall, it's alright for daily use, but amazing for use over foundation or.full makeup. i actually really enjoyed the design of the container, too. It does not spill out all over the place or become messy like other powders can do.I did receive this setting powder complimentary as part of an Influester promotion. But, based on my own personal experience, I would recommend it as a staple in any makeup lover's stash, especially if you live in humid climates and want long-wearing makeup. Less

Wow... Just wow

I first bought this just because of all of the hype around it and figured I would just try it out. I initially thought I would only use the middle highlight and would find the other two void. Wow, was I wrong. Now, for clarification- My skin tone is not the lightest color but it is close and I have normal to oily skin with fairly large pores around my cheeks to boot. Seems as though all the signs point to someone with my skin type would not be an ideal candidate for highlighting products such as this. I WAS WRONG!!! I can use all three of these and I don't even need blush any more. This gives me the most naturally beautiful glow I have ever had in my life. I use Dim light (furthest to the left) as an all over/contour type with warms my face up beautifully with no glittery/shimmery appearance, just a literal glow. Then I go in with Radiant Light as my blush and its sooooooo beautiful!!!!!!! I could die, it's so beautiful and so natural, I haven't used any other blush since I got it. I then, of course, use Incandescent light as a typical highlighter. And now, all the while, none of this looks crazy shiny/glowy or nothing of the sort. Just that beautiful natural glow from within that even people with oily skin can only hope to achieve. I wear it everyday. But now also, I am using a mattifying foundation underneath all of this which allows me to put a glow where ever I choose and not what my skin chooses. This product is definitely worth it. I take this with me instead of blushes, contours, highlighters... etc when I travel and I never regret just bringing this. Just give it a try. « less

Simply amazing ang great palette!!!

I have been using this palette for over 2 weeks now, since I purchased it and I have to say I am really impressed with it. I always been intimidated by the full size powders, because they were so big and I did not want to buy multiple of them to give it a try. But this palette made it possible- 3 in 1 !!! Plus it is amazing for traveling, I do not have to take any of my other powders, highlighters or bronzers with me, because this palette is enough! The Color pay off is great and because of the exquisite technology it will suit any skin color!! While using it I have noticed my skin looks healthier, smoother, and luminous (without glitter).I have been using the Dim light as all over the face (when needed - depending on the foundation I use) setting powder, and it blends in very smoothly, little goes a long way, and throughout the day I have not seen any fading or foundation, flaking or dryness.Incandescent Light I use as a highlighting shade over my cheek bones, nose, cupids bow, and sometimes as a brow highlighter ( when I go for a natural/fresh look). The powder looks very light I the palette, but once applied and well blended in, it gives a very soft and gentle glow, without looking too frosty or glittery.Radiant light I was worried about, because it looks slightly orange in the palette. But once again I was very pleased when I used it. The color pay off is very subtle, gentle and not orange at atl ( yayyyy!). It gives very soft warmth to the face. Once the color is heavily swatched with a finger, it looks like it has glitter in it, but when applied to the face, the is no "chunky" glitter specs at all! I use this powder sometimes all over the face or other times when I am in a hurry I use it to define by cheek bones, in both cases with very gentle strokes of a brush.Over all I am very pleased with this palette. I wish Hourglass would make such palettes more often. Only downside that I have about it, is that you do pay more for this palette ($58) than a full size Ambient Lighting Powder ($45), and you get just a tiny little bit less of the product.*** Image below (c), colors swatched are in order (Dim Light, Incandescent Light and Radiant Light) and swatched very heavily. « less

Thick and clingy

The packaging seems really heavy - too much plastic packaging. The "H" dispenser might be cute but not enough product comes out. It does have a different scent, but it's not bad or offensive. Right out of the shaker, the powder is thick and clingy. I generally use a fluffy brush to dust on very light application over my t-zone and cheeks, and the powder clings to the brush and to wherever it's applied. I've used this over different iterations of moisturizers, sunblocks, primers, and bbcreams/foundations and found that this powder does not work for me. It might look great for an hour but that's it. After that, my face whole looks greasy, the powder looks patchy, oxidized, and separates any other products on my face. Definitely not the clean, polished look I'm looking for. By mid-day I end up patting down my face, blending, and applying pressed powder to tone down the t-zone shine. I definitely won't be buying this again ever. Less

I love love love the fenty hydrating foundation. I have naturally dry/combo skin. How would y’all recommend I set it if I want a luminous finish? What setting powders / sprays have y’all tried that works well with this foundation?

Any recommendations. I have dry/oily skin. I can’t use any setting powders because they cake after a while of wearing it. I use a cream foundation because it doesn’t cling or sink. But since it’s a cream then it looks oily. What do I do?

Good for dry skin? I was wondering if this product is good for dry skin? I have incredibly dry skin, but I still need to set my foundations because if I don’t they will literally slip off. I was also wondering if this makes the skin too matte?? I like my makeup to look more natural.
