LOVE

I read so many reviews online on how amazing this product is, so I set out to my local Sephora store to purchase it, only to be turned down by the sales associate there. She literally would not sell it to me. She kept saying that it was too oily and unpopular with girls my age (I am 21) and instead recommended me to purchase a mattifying primer. I have combination skin, but I feel it leans more toward the dry side because I live in California, so I need something extremely moisturizing for my skin. I hate mattifying primers because they make my skin so dry and tight, and I hate it! So I went home and purchased this online (since the lady at Sephora didn't want to sell it to me), and omg I AM IN LOVE. This is seriously the best primer on earth. Not only is paraben free, synthetic dye free, sulfate free, and formulated with 28 essential oils (very moisturizing!!), it is also lightweight and smoothing. Because of the initial oily consistency, I was very surprised when it sunk into my skin after a couple minutes, the oiliness, too, completely vanishing, leaving behind a super smooth and moisturized surface upon which I could then apply my foundation. My nose and between my brows are so incredibly flaky and oily, but this product counteracts BOTH. I don't even know how that is possible, but at the end of a long work day, I noticed that my nose and between my brows were super matte O__O The product itself is scented, but it smells like lavender/herbs and vanishes after a couple minutes. And be sure to let the primer sit for a good 2 minutes before applying a layer of foundation on top. I will DEFINITELY be repurchasing this product. Even after removing my makeup, my skin has become so much softer and moisturized! I love how this product targets skincare during and after makeup wear. The only downside to this is that it is very pricey :( I purchased the travel size for $22, but I feel it will run out in about 4 months or so :(

If you like essential oils, you will LOVE this!

This primer has not only changed the way my makeup looks and feels. But it has changed the way my skin looks and feels. I came across this product when I was looking for a primer. I tried other popular primers but I found some to be a bit too heavy, casting a pasty shadow, or drying for my comb-skin face. I gave this primer a chance and I am so pleased I did. I can apply this primer without a mousterizer and it will not dry out my skin. On my oily days, it actually helps keep my oil production under control. The bottle looks tiny, but you only need 1 pump for your whole face. I wear make up 5 days out of the week and this tiny bottle has lasted me 6 months. So the price is justified,.16-.17 cents, for every time I used it. When you apply this primer, it will look like you have oil all over your face. But wait 2 minutes like the product says, and you will have a smooth canvas and calmed skin ready for make up application. If you don't want to wait 2 minutes, please reconsider. This primer has a nice essential oil smell that is really relaxing and refreshing. Putting on make up is like a meditative art, so I think the smell of this product will make a great addition to your routine. When I am done applying my make up, my skin looks natural. Not too dewy, not too matte, just perfect! I don't wear foundation with this primer. I find that this primer has hid my pores, fine lines, and calmed my skin, I only need to wear concealer and translucent power. When I take it off at the end of the day, I feel my skin is smooth and my pores are not clogged. I highly, HIGHLY recommend this primer is you want an au natural finish that takes minimal effort, and has skin care benefits.

worth the price? ABSOLUTELY

My skin is extremely dry and sensitive. Before using that primer, I could not wear full coverage or matte foundations because they looked soooo cakey and dry on my skin. But this primer over here litteraly became a life saver since I start using it. I recently bought the Estee Lauder double wear foundation, which is normally not recommanded for dry skin, and it looks so dewy and fresh on my skin with that primer under it. Seriously, I didn't want to purchase this because of the price, but I realised that it is worth it. The small bottle will last for months because only a pea size of product is needed. The texture is oily, but not greasy at all and it smells really fresh. So if you have dry skin but you want to wear these full coverage type of foundations, this is the product for you! Hope this helps. « less

Made Me Break Out Like Crazy

I had recently discovered Hourglass' 'Immaculate Liquid Foundation' and was totally in love with it, except that it tended to cling onto my dry patches. After explaining this to the assistant at Mecca, she suggested I try this No. 28 primer underneath, to create a smooth and even surface for the foundation. At first I was delighted with the result, as the primer completely solved the problems I was having. That was until later that night, when I started to break out, not even 12 hours later! The next morning was even worse, and it took my skin a while to recover from this primer. Yes, it created a flawless base for my foundation, but it didn't work for my skin at all. I have oily/combination, acne prone skin, and obviously this just wasn't a good match. For anyone with skin similar to mine, I would not recommend it at all, but if your skin is dry and isn't sensitive, then I would say to give this a go. It did create a lovely base for makeup, just didn't work for me. « less

Luxurious Hydration!

I am a massive fan of Hourglass products and I received a sample of this primer in Beauty Loop box! This primer has the consistency of a thick oil, it smells delightful and feels so silky and soft on the skin, leaving your face hydrated and prepped for the day.I have combination skin, oily in the T-zone, and I've seen a lot of reviews suggesting that this primer isn't good for oily skin. Whilst my skin isn't excessively oily, for me personally, the primer sinks into my skin very quickly and as a oil enthusiastic I love applying this before any other primer, sort of as a last minute skincare prep. I haven't noticed it making my makeup last any longer, however not many primers do. One of the best features is that a little goes a long way!You can probably live without this product, as I'm sure it gives more noticeable results to those with dry skin, however now that I have this great, luxurious hydrating product, I don't want to live without it. Will definitely repurchase! « less

Hi! I have combo/dry skin and I have a problem find a good foundation. I always seem to get a cake like texture and I was wondering if anyone had any they’ve had luck with ?? I’m trying to look for drugstore but I’ll take any recommendations!

Maybeline dream satin liquid foundation. Its basically a dupe of geogio armani satin foundation. But its amazing, full coverage, satin look for dry skin. And not caky at allz To avoid your foundation from getting cakey, i suggest using a great moisturizer, and then investing in a super hydrating primer. Tagging the primer i use here. It’s a little expensive but your foundation will never feel cakey again!
