i received a sample of this product and i loved the way this product evens out my skin tone and reduces the fine lines

- Sephora User

i needed to cover all the dryness and redness from my cheeks and my dior forever foundation was doing a great job on this, but after removing the make up, my skin turned dry and hurtful again

Please never stop making this

I have relied on Sephora reviews for a long time, and karma says I should put something back out into the community. So here I am, typing as I wear this lovely formula. I randomly picked it up in store because the claims are everything I've been searching for. It feels like I've been on the hunt for an HG foundation ever since my skin first turned to junk in middle school. So I really didn't have high hopes, but decided to go for it, and I'm very glad I did. It feels amazingly light and comfortable. After doing my eyes (UD primer in Minor Sin + a navy liner cat-eye + lots of black mascara), this yummy cream applies like a dream with my Sephora #56 foundation brush over moisturized skin. I only apply it where needed. Then I might do a light second precision layer with the Sephora #57 concealer brush to get around my nose and pat a little extra in where especially needed. Super quick, easy, perfect coverage, and DEWINESS! It is comfortable and seems to float over my skin, not sinking into pores and fine lines or kicking up flakes or looking thick - the way everything else does. Then I dot on a bright cream blush, maybe finish with Hourglass Ambient Light in Diffused, and I'm out the door. My shade in this is Vanilla. It's not a perfect match, but for me nothing is. Vanilla works well for a cool-toned very pale lady like me. I am just so excited about how healthy and skin-like my skin looks with this on. I take extremely good care of my skin, but it's still not to a point where I like to leave the house with no coverup. This stuff is just perfect. For reference, what I'm covering up are mostly red "PIH" past acne marks and some bumpy texture, but no active breakouts. My skin type is extremely dry. If this sounds anything like you, you will love this product. « less

Okay people. This stuff. I am a liquid foundation hater, but this stuff is just amazeballs. I was attracted to it bc of the hyaluronic acid so I wanted to give it a try. Oh. My. Gosh. This turns skin into the most flawless, youthful looking canvas ever. I find the finish to be satin to slightly dewy, and I have combo skin that tends to get a little oilier during the day. The longevity of this stuff is amazing, it stays on from 7AM to 10PM. Yes, if you look closely you can see a tiny bit of separation on my nose, but there isn't any foundation that does not slide off my nose. This even stays on way better than all other liquid I have tried. This is really a medium to full coverage foundation. I only need one layer so I don't know if it's good for layering. Eventhough it is med/ full coverage, it does not look like I am wearing make-up. It just looks like I have amazing SKIN. The first day I wore this to work, it was raining compliments about how good I looked; even my supervisor commented on it.Be aware though: the color discription on the Sephora website for Sand is incorrect. It is NOT golden, but neutral to pink. Since we don't have Sephora in Holland I had to go with my gut, and was frustrated when it looked very very pink on my hand. Strangely enough this color works anyway, so I am happy.Another important note: the consistency is very thick. If you have pretty good skin, please use no more than a pea size amount. Because it is very thick, I find that it doesn't blend well with a brush. Use a damp Beauty Blender instead.Tip: blot your face after moisturizer and/ or primer and dust you face with the lightest veil of finely milled (mineral) finishing powder. The lasting power will increase significantly. If I must say something "negative" about this, is that I find blusher doesn't blend too well on top of it. With a sweeping motion it can turn out a bit blotchy and cakey-looking. Solution: stipple the blush instead of sweeping/ swirling. So I don't even knock off a star for this. « less

Just what I was looking for!

I had already used and loved Hourglass Primer, but hadn't tried their foundations or tinted moisturizer. My sister had the Illusion Tinted Moisturizer in Light Beige, so I thought I would try it out. I thought it would be too dark for my skin, and possibly too dry or dull because it was oil free, but I had been looking for something with a little more coverage than the Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer I've been using for years and years, so I gave it a try.As a point of reference, I have combination skin, oily in the T-zone, but can be dry in other places. I have some sun damage, fine lines, and I like my make-up to feel light and look natural. I do not break out, and I do not have sensitive skin. I've been using this for more than three weeks.Pros:- Although it feels thick when it comes out of the bottle, once you spread it on, it feels light, non-greasy, and moisturizing.- I have used my fingers and different foundation brushes to apply it with good results.- works well with and without a primer; however, I use the Hourglass primer, my favorite primer.- Does not change color and lasts all day- I put a little powder on my T-zone, but I think if you do not have an oily T-zone, you could get away without powder.- Looks dewy, natural, and glowing without looking sparkly, or oily.- Has buildable coverage, but would say it has more coverage than other tinted moisturizers I've used- Does not have a scent and the extra layer of SPF 15 is always good- I received several compliments on my skin when I wore this, and I can see the difference too.Cons- It is expensive for the amount you get, and more expensive per ounce than many tinted moisturizers. After sampling my sister's, and getting a generous sample from Sephora, I decided to buy it, and I'm really glad I did. My mom, who is in her 70s, also tried it and loved it. It looks great on her skin as well.I highly recommend this tinted moisturizer, but everyone's skin and taste is different. Get a sample and check it out. It's my new favorite. « less

dry skin beware.

I really wanted to like this. I received a small foil-card sample with an order, and liked the consistency, so I went to the store for a shade-match, got a larger sample, then ordered online (so I could use ebates). I wish I had waited, as the full-size will be going back as soon as I receive it.The coverage is SUPER thick, which isn't a problem for me, as I like that flawless coverage look, though it seems a bit misleading for something called a skin tint, which I imagine people would assume is a lighter product. The shade Golden matched me well, I'm a 300 in Dior, NC-37-40, etc. It goes on smooth, has sort of a luminous matte finish (yes, I know how that sounds...read on), and covers well. The problem is it HORRIBLY accentuates dry skin or raised blemishes, anything not super smooth, on my skin. I moisturize well, but still had "flakes" on my nose, forehead, and cheeks, which don't show with ANY other foundation I use. I like the idea of Hyaluron in the product, but it doesn't work at all for my skin. It also looks a bit oily/greasy, which is the product, not my skin, because I have dry skin, so I imagine how shiny it would look if you had oily skin. If it makes dry skin look terrible, and makes oily skin look oilier, I'm a bit puzzled as to who this product would work for. If you have normal, clear skin, I imagine this would be way too heavy, coverage-wise.Also didn't like how it never dried down, really, and left my skin feeling "wetter" than usual. Sure you can use powder, but when I did, it felt like I had a face mask on. Especially given it's price, there's better options out there. « less

Crazy Impressed

So I got this as sample in Ivory and I haven't been blown away by a product like this in quite a while (and I have so many products I could run a spa out of my house) I've never been real impressed with any TM so one day after my shower and regular face routine I figured I'd give this a try, with no real expectations. I honestly assumed I'd get typical underwhelming results and end up putting a bunch of foundation over it. Well, In the less-than-lovely lighting of my bathroom I quickly applied a bunch with my fingers as I would a moisturizer. I felt the texture was much closer to that of a foundation, not a moisturizer. I use Argan oil to hydrate in the colder months and applied this over. When I was done in the bathroom and headed over to my vanity and sat down I actually did a double take when I first looked in the mirror. The sunlight beams directly at my face there and I was really shocked to see that this product had matched perfectly, blended super evenly and provided full coverage and my face was beautiful! Even on my entire nose where foundation tends to slide around instead of blend in, and I have tiny patches of dry skin. The level of coverage is really amazing. I wouldn't rely on this to be my only moisturizer in the winter months and as I said, it feels closer to a foundation than a lotion, but over a few drops of oil it's amazing and may be perfect on its own in humid months. I have fair, combination skin with pink/neutral undertones and a touch of redness on the insides of my cheeks (1/2 Irish). After applying this I have perfectly covered, glowing skin. It even made my pores MUCH less visible without any primer which is a huge bonus for me. Again, I didn't use primer or anything because I treated this as a moisturizer instead of prepping for a foundation, and it looks really beautiful. I've seen the comments about 'glitter' and while I haven't seen any actual glitter, it is shimmery/luminous. I've actually found that the thinner you try to apply it, the more obvious the shimmer is. If you put a healthy layer all over the face and then blend outward to even it out, it's actually gives a lovely airbrushed effect & is natural looking. I also put a good dusting of powder on to finish it, to take some of the glow out. I have to note that I don't ride the 'dewy' train though. To me there's a very fine line between 'dewy' and 'you just look like you have oily skin'. I think the key is to get skin looking brighter, not oilier. Anyway, I've tried tons of foundations and BB's and TM's and this is one of the rare few that impressed me so I would recommend it. It's priced more like a foundation but keep in mind that it acts more like one too. I'd recommend doing your face routine like normal and pretend this is a foundation and apply it as such. You also need to match your color correctly since this is not very sheer. The smear they show in the product image actually appears to be lighter and more sheer than the product actually looks. It's a heartier consistency and more opaque and is probably best for people with normal-dry skin, or those who don't mind blotting or powdering a little throughout the day. « less
