The right amount of glow

I have been waiting for an hourglass pallet like this one!! Literally went to the store the day it was released just to pick this up. I have olive skin with some roseca-like pigment on my cheeks - the lightest power I can dust under my eyes, or blended with the darker for an all over power, the darker shade I use for lazy day contouring. The bronzer and highlighter are just perfect! And the two blushes are both flattering shades for me. I tend to be a bit self conscious with blush because of my skin issues but they’re lovely shades. The powers are all so finely milled, they sit beautifully on the skin. And the shimmering powers give such a natural glow - no sparkles! Wonderful for mature skin and troubled skin. It helps blur everything while looking very natural.

Bad shades for me & okay quality

Just received the product and began playing with it. I was very excited as hourglass powders had impressed me in the past, especially the ambient edit palettes.Unfortunately this one didn’t cut it for me when it came down to the price. The finishing powders were quite beautiful and worked well for my skin tone, the lighter being all over powder and the darker one a light contour as suggested. The bronzer was awful due to it being so orange/red toned and fat too warm for my complexion it just looked silly and muddy on my cheeks and didn’t blend as well as I would hope. The blushes were fine, the lighter shimmery one was nice and I enjoyed it while the other just didn’t suit my skin tone being more purple-y than the image led me to believe it was but that isn’t a fault to the palette just my preference on my skin tone as the blush powders blended well and still were good colors. The highlight was very pretty but caused a lot of fallout into the palette making everything have a bit of shimmer in it and on the skin showed more texture rather than blending in more seamlessly as my other highlighters I prefer do.As well, as many have said the powders are very small which wasn’t a downside to me as I tend to prefer smaller products that make it so I am able to finish products rather than have them risk expiring though it can be difficult to use some brushes with the palette but that didn’t effect my review as much as the quality of the product. It is a good quality palette but when it comes down to it the colors used didn’t suit my skin tone as much as I would hope and some products didn’t perform to my liking for the price, will most likely try the ambient edit vol. 4 when it is released later this year as it is usually not limited edition shades and I will be more likely to enjoy them. « less

Ultra lightweight, ultasmooth formula

First holiday Hourglass palette. As close to flawless than I will ever get! Powders feel weightless on my skin. The finishing powders-such a smooth finish to my skin. Skin looks so healthy. I use the lighter powder under eyes and the darker powder dusted all over my face. I’m not a fan of shimmer bronzers but this one is so smooth. Love the plum blush. Love how buildable this blush is. No doubt, smoothest blush I own and blends so well! I do have a mini size of hourglass blush, different shade. Plum blush is exactly the same formula. Peach blush I use only as a topper. The strobe highlighter is a subtle glow. Good for daily use. I like to use it wet to get that extra pop/glow for evenings out. High price but with my percentage off had to purchase.

Worthy Purchase!!

I have light-medium skin and these shades work so naturally on me. (TF Peach Perfect GB-winter, GB&WB-summer). The first finishing powder, Soft Light, is quite sheen and neutral in shade, works well for the highlights of my face. Filtered Light, the second finishing powder, I use for all over my skin. It swatches between NC25-30, but it doesn't change my shade when I use a light hand. Filtered Light actually made my skin look more smooth and literally filtered. The Golden bronzer looks very natural on me, it is not too warm and not too neutral. I think the Golden Bronze Light shade can be used for light to tan, as a bronzer, but sadly I can't say the same for anyone darker than tan. The two blushes compliment my undertones perfectly (neutral olive) and look very natural, Nude Glow being a pinky peach and Mood Flush looking mauve on my cheeks. As for the Highlighter, it is a true champagne color and is very pigmented and soft, one swipe and it gave a very glowy shine. All in all, a very worthy purchase since the powders are very versatile and I am able to make use of the whole palette to create different looks. « less

Better than the unlocked palette!

I am so much happier with this product than the ambient edit unlocked palette and really this is what I wished that palette was so I’m glad to have returned it and gotten this. The finishing powders are good for my skin tone. I set all over my face with dim light, and under my eyes with diffused light. They make my skin look flawless, smooth and natural. The highlighter is a much more natural finish that doesn’t accentuate texture, though it is a bit glittery but I don’t mind it much as it is extremely small micro shimmer, it is a true shimmery champagne color. The bronzer was a good light to medium shade that can be built up and is slightly cool toned without being too much like a contour and it has a sheen to it as well as some very small micro shimmer in it.The two blush shades both suit my skin tone very well, a slightly coral warm toned pink and cooler toned light magenta color. Both have shimmer within them but giving a subtle glowy finish. All the powders in this palette blend easily and create a natural finish to the skin. All in all this palette is very good compared to other volumes of the edits and is worth it if you want a little bit of everything to try from hourglass. The pan sizes are small of course but I believe you would have to try very hard and use this very often to finish them all so it isn’t an issue to me.(For reference I had a mini sample of dim light that took me about a year to finish using it everyday as a finishing powder) « less
