So no matter what type of foundation, setting spray, and translucent powder I use my skin ALWAYS gets oily/shiny and caked in my pores. I have tried a TON of remedies and no success 😕 any advice or products? Thank you!

So this could sound crazy but if you have tried a bunch of things your skin could be dehydrated and overproducing oil to compensate. Maybe try extra hydration at night followed by a non stripping cleanser in the morning. I also recommend daily use of niacinamine to help reduce pore size and regulate sebum production.

So my eye has a deep crease with oily eyelids and it is resulting in the top half of my eyeshadow always wearing off prematurely and I wanted to know if anyone could recommend any products to use to help combat this issue/ any eyeshadow blending techniques are appreciated

I have very hooded eyes too, they can be frustrating to work with. But I’ve been using this primer for a couple of years and it’s amazing, my eyeshadow lasts with no fading or creasing even after 10-11 hours, and since you have oily lids putting an oil control primer underneath will probably help a lot. And if you’re interested in finding new techniques, Wayne Goss has several YouTube videos on hooded eyes and they’re really helpful.

Any of the dr jart+ products that contain tiger grass work amazing! My favorite would be this treatment or the tiger grass cream. This treatment covers redness and gives some coverage to the skin. You are also able to build on this if you need extra coverage. The tiger grass cream is a thick moisturizer that removes redness and gives a great base to the face. I have been using this cream as my primer!

I like this one it’s not full Coverage but gets the job done; covers my blemishes, has SPF, works well with my makeup revolution concealer! Only thing is I have to set this with some setting powder! I use coty airspun powder looks beautiful together!

Do your eyes before your face makeup! There’s also little cotton pads you can stick on your face that prevents makeup from falling on your face

The ordinary coverage foundation is great because it's a nice coverage and feels like nothing! It doesn't break me out and doesn't make my acne look textured!

Okay this is gonna sound crazy but dollar general’s makeup line has an AMAZING foundation. When I tell you this beats out SO many high end foundations. It’s super light weight and has a beautiful natural finish.

So, I have a question for y’all. By the end of my day, my makeup comes off on the bottom half of my face like (hollows of my cheeks and down, plus like below my nose/chin) AND my makeup on my nose separates within the hour of application. So frustrating because it’ll stay for a while then next thing I know it’s gone. Any tips??

Maybe try a primer and a setting spray? For primer, I like Milk Hydrogrip. For setting spray I stick to Urban Decay All Nighter

@Aleah Nicole Maybe the primer is causing it? It might be that it’s not absorbing into your skin enough. Either it needs more time before you apply the makeup (like 10-15 minutes) or try not using it at all.

I have severely dry skin, foundation always looks caked on no matter what I do. I also struggle with eczema so I have dry patches 😪 I need a good foundation that’ll stay without making me feel like I’m gonna go crazy with the foundation on my skin. My little brothers wedding is this weekend and I want something that’ll last but not dry me out. Any suggestions?? Also open to a new primer to help with the problems!

not sure what kind of coverage you’re looking for but i would honestly try a tinted moisturizer, it’ll keep your skin hydrated but also give you a fair bit of coverage. Laura Mercier has a good one

Is there any recommendations for good foundations and concealers that won’t make my face looked caked? I think its only because of my oily skin but like every time I swear to gosh it looks so nasty. I use these two products!

How do you find what your actual undertone is? I’ve always thought I was cool, but I’ve seen a few videos and they seem to say that I’m warm undertone. I have pinkish cheeks but the majority of my skin is pale white. I have blue eyes and my hair is naturally medium brown. I don’t know if that helps at all, but I’m trying to fully understand because I feel like i always buy the wrong foundation. Can anyone help? What are your fave tips for finding someone’s undertone? (attached is a pic of half of my face so you can maybe judge what you think I am) #tips #beginner #notreallybutkinda

Any good light- medium coverage foundations for oily and acne prone skin ? Prefer cheaper ! But anything would be a lifesaver , a lot of my foundation look very caked on and looks layered no matter how much I use and what I blend with . #foundation

I did this not long ago but I decided I should try a halo eye, Ive never tried one before due to my eye shape. I think it actually turned out pretty nice. If you want to know any of the products used, just ask. Half of them I couldn’t find to tag them so I thought people could just ask instead!

Thank you! Halo eyes are lowkey difficult but I think you just have to try it a couple times and not think too hard about getting it perfectly even or whatnot. Staying calm and having confidence in your skills are probably the best tips I have :)

I am about to start doing makeup as a business, and I need help with different product suggestions for skin types. What are good products for oily/sensitive skin, and dry/combination ? Also what are good techniques to go by before applying foundations to each ( moisturize, primer, set, face mist ) so you gone get the caked or crease effect ?

@Lydia Rhodes I’m going to try that. And I literally have this foundation lol. It just seems like once I set the concealer it looks weird. So I think is it maybe I need to change primers again, or set before my foundation 😓

to make it not cakey use a beauty blender. to not crease, put powder under the eyes or where it creases the most immediately after you do the concealer! good luck!

Excuse my hand over half of my face. This is a picture of my face natural and then a picture with my makeup. I need tips and recommendations. I have big pores and redness. I want more of a full coverage look but I want it to look more smooth instead of so bumpy. Anyone have any recommendations on primers, foundations, or just anything that could take away the redness and make my pores look smaller?

Have you considered using azelaic acid? It’s really helpful in reducing redness, acne, and dark spots/hyperpigmentation. A great product is from Paulas Choice. Also, Niacinimide is also really helpful with pores and redness (the ordinary niacinimide and zinc serum is good)

Hi friends, I need haircare advice!! I need a shampoo/conditioner combo that will help my hair grow and repair but won’t make my hair incredibly oily. Right now I’m using OGX Think and Full and it’s making my hair so oily. I usually shower every other day and not even half way through day two it’s so oily. Anything helps! Thanks!! #haircare #hair #oily #curlyhair #hairproducts #damage #shampoo #conditioner #repair #growth

Try avoiding products that have sulfates in them it dries your hair out even if it’s a “moisturizing” shampoo and conditioner. Garnier has a great deep moisturizing shampoo with rose water. I also use a Shea butter hair mask that takes about 5 min in the shower to do. 😁
