What’s the consensus on fragrance in your skin care. Like I hear it’s bad and then I hear it’s fine?! I just don’t know if I should be trying to get all my skincare without any added fragrance?

Fragrance can cause redness, irritation, and breakouts for those with sensitive skin. If your skin isn’t too sensitive then fragrance shouldn’t really effect you, but if you are still unsure than you could always be on the safe side. But make sure you get a toner with no alcohol in it. I recommend the Pixi Glow Tonic.

K-beauty is great. But the “10 step” idea is more likely harmful than helpful for your skin since you are likely to over expose you skin to harmful ingredients :/ I included a link to a video where Hyram helps explain it but I’ll sum up what he said too. When you would normally get X amount of a vitamin/ingredient in one product and that is fine but if you multiply it across several products...you see what I mean? Often the main irritant from that sort of process is fragrance. Which if you didn’t know, companies don’t have to tell you what ingredients make up the label “fragrance”. Having a routine is good but toners, essences, and face masks can all often address the same issues in one product. 10 steps is overkill. Save your money and stick with something that’s more like 4 to 6 things(?) my not an expert guess haha. Anyways! My favorite Korean brands are iUNIK and Purito. They have great skincare with some fragrance free options. Hope that helps! :)

Any recommendations for a long lasting medium/full coverage foundation that doesn’t rub off when touched and has (mostly) clean ingredients? I have acne-prone combination skin and I can’t seem to find something that my skin consistently agrees with

I have dry skin and lately any cleanser has been drying me out terribly and almost every moisturizer is just not enough I recently tried Ponds cold cream cleanser and it truly worked wonders I can absolutely see why it’s still a really good buy since 1846, it left my skin super soft, hydrated, moisturized and clean. I first removed most of my makeup with the Ulta makeup removing towel (like a MakeupEraser) then I massage the cold cream on my face avoiding my eyes, and leave it on (a bit like a mask and for it to work and grasp on any dirt, oil and pollution I have on my face) while I get in the shower and wash my body, then I take a wash cloth, soak it in warm water and gently wipe my face clean. You’ll be surprised how soft and moisturizer your face is. The Fragrance Free version I usually find it at Target for about $5 I paired it with their dry skin moisturizer and it is truly amazing! Star Duo! Never in my life I thought I would EVER use Ponds, and I love it!

@Emily oh, I’m so sorry Emily They do say when people try ponds they either love it or hate it The irritation might have been from the fragrance too

Currently searching for products to use on my birthday and I need advice on primers, longwearing foundations, concealers and powders with no flashback. So far I’m interested in trying Charlotte Tilbury’s most recent foundation and the pressed powder. Any luxury recommendations that are worth the splurge and hold up on combo/oily skin? I struggle with a lot of shine mainly between my brows and around my nose :)

I’ve asked for recommendations for foundations a bit lately but I always ask for drugstore products. Now I’m just asking for any suggestions for foundations for dry skin, my go to has been e.l.f. Flawless Finish Foundation but now with the weather changing even it’s looking kind of dry and flaky on me, even though I’ve switched to my thick moisturizer and prep my skin thoroughly beforehand. I really want to find a foundation with good coverage that’s also very hydrating and I just haven’t had any luck with any I’ve tried so far, so any suggestions are much appreciated.

Thoughts on The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution? I know tons of people rave about it but I’m debating about biting the bullet and trying it with my sensitive skin.

It’s really good but the ordinary doesn’t recommend people who have sensitive skin to use it although I did read on their reviews, if i remember correctly, that some people who have sensitive skin said that they loved it🤷🏽‍♀️idk what’s that about but if you do end up getting it do a patch test first.

@Amira Stephens See my skin is pretty weird, I had a bad reaction to 2% salicylic acid pads a few years ago. Yet since then, when I’ve used other products (even with salicylic acid in it) like acne treatments that you have to slowly start up using to build immunity, I’ve had absolutely no problems and it doesn’t take near as long to be able to use daily. That’s why I’ve been kind of iffy.

@nicole21 forever yes you're right to get a patch test. I hear it's v hit/miss w sensitive skin but if you are tolerant w salycilic acid at least w sensitive skin you are safe to use this once a week for 10 mins max

I have dry, acne prone skin and I have been trying everything to get rid of my acne for the past year! nothing works (curology, neutrogena light mask, acne washes, tea tree oil, mario badescu- you name it!) does anyone have any recommendations for a natural at home remedy for acne? I’m done with all the chemicals ingredients on my face.

I know you said no chems but the only thing that worked for me was 1 session of a chemical peel (ask for 7 layers) and drink ONLY water in place of any other beverage. ONLy WaTeR!! Don’t believe me, look at my before and afters. Still can’t believe it’s me. - 1 session of a strong chemical peel -Drink Water ONLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -Oxy gently in circular motions until face starts feeling tingly. -and an oil free moisturizer! Let me know how it goes! Good luck!

My skin was so sensitive, I had a reaction to everything people told me to try for my acne. I finally was recommended to try curology, which was my holy grail. The cool thing is it’s personalized. You answer questions about your skin and then a professional formulates a product specifically for what you need. The first pic I’ll add is a before and after that’s 5 days apart from each other. The next pic I’ll add is like 4 months of using it when I finally felt confident with no foundation. I also will say I tested what would happened if I stopped using it, and for me I only have 1-2 pimples usually when I’m hormonal or the day after my shift at my burger shack job.

I use this sunscreen. I have highly sensitive skin, and I find this one to be lightweight and genuinely good for your skin. It is a bit on the pricier side and hard to get a hold of. However if you speak to someone that does facial cleanings or a dermatologist, they might be able to help. This product has helped me, personally, a lot!
