Received 4 different shade samples of Giorgio Armani Face Fabric foundation and was looking forward to loving, as I am in love with their Luminous Silk foundation. I am 41 with combination skin. Most foundations apply nicely and melt well into my skin, just a matter of finding the right shade and coverage. Luckily I tested this foundation while at home for the day, still nothing I attempted seemed to help.I prepped before application with my regular skin care routine and products: clean skin, toner, eye serum, eye cream, moisturizing serum, then moisturizer. Allowed time for these products to sink in, then sprayed Smashbox’s Primer Water. On the left side of my face I lightly applied Tatcha Silk Canvas in small areas where my pores are larger to see if the two would work well together. After waiting about 5 mins, I then applied the Face Fabric foundation. At first I was very impressed by the velvety soft texture and smooth coverage. It glided nicely over my skin so I kept going. After applying with my fingers, I lightly applied a damp beauty blender to blend and melt. All appeared lovely at this point.I applied concealer, set my under eye area, then applied blush, highlighter, and lip gloss. Within this time I noticed the foundation starting to break up, especially on the side where I applied Tatcha Silk Canvas… my skin did not look like smooth fabric or silk. I then spritzed Tarte’s 4 in 1 setting mist and used the beauty blender to melt the foundation, which works extremely well with my other foundations. This helped a bit but only temporarily. After about 10 mins the foundation began to cake in a few other areas, on both sides of my face. I tried spritzing more this time with Caudalie’s Beauty Elixir. Again this helped temporarily but the cake like and dry patch texture reappeared. So disappointing. I initially thought this was a winner. There are so many other less expensive yet better light coverage foundations to choose from. « less
