Who here has started a 10 step K-Beauty Regimen? Love it or hate it? Recommend your fave products, please. Like what even is Essence?

K-beauty is great. But the “10 step” idea is more likely harmful than helpful for your skin since you are likely to over expose you skin to harmful ingredients :/ I included a link to a video where Hyram helps explain it but I’ll sum up what he said too. When you would normally get X amount of a vitamin/ingredient in one product and that is fine but if you multiply it across several products...you see what I mean? Often the main irritant from that sort of process is fragrance. Which if you didn’t know, companies don’t have to tell you what ingredients make up the label “fragrance”. Having a routine is good but toners, essences, and face masks can all often address the same issues in one product. 10 steps is overkill. Save your money and stick with something that’s more like 4 to 6 things(?) my not an expert guess haha. Anyways! My favorite Korean brands are iUNIK and Purito. They have great skincare with some fragrance free options. Hope that helps! :)

Hi, I have THE smallest shortest blonde little lashes. I have volume but I NEED length. So bad. I’ve tried- better then sex, essence, Tarte, and benefit! My favorite ever is JULEP length matters. But they don’t sell it at ulta anymore. Any recommendations? If they’re under $15 that would be cool. 😆

It’s amazing. I highly recommend for people with oily skin and big pores. I have combination skin with big pores especially on my nose. It does an amazing job and applies my foundation beautifully on top.

What is essence used for? Does toner really help the skin barrier before moisturizer? I always thought it was just like a deeper clean after cleanser lol

an essence is used after your toner. a toner is a necessary step in your routine because it takes of any excess oils or dirt that your cleanser didn’t & trust me it works! especially around your hair line, ears, and neck. An essence is used after the toner because it’s what actually allows your pores to open & allows any skincare product you apply after to seep in your skin instead of sitting on top of it. in my skin care routine i like to go from thinnest to thickest cause it’s what works best for me . so it would be toner> essence> serum> eye cream> face cream> face oil. i know it’s a lot but trust me your skin will thank you!

I need a recommendation on primer. I have large pores around my nose on my cheeks and nothing I have tried works. I have used Elf Blur stick, No More Poreblems (I think that’s what it’s called), Flower Beauty Hydrating Primer among others. I need something to fill in my pores, that’s hydrating and will also make my foundation last all day. I’m going crazy wasting money on primers that don’t work. I appreciate your recommendations in advance.

If you haven’t tried this yet I highly recommend it. It fills in pores and smooths everything out very nicely, it’s hydrating without being greasy at all, and my makeup lasts for up to 10 hours with it.

@Jessica Helms i did try it and it made no difference in the appearance of my pores. They’re pretty bad. Fortunately they’re just on a small part of my cheeks next to my nose. I’ve been trying every skincare product for pores too. Unfortunately it must be genetic because I know they’re all cleaned out. I’m going to school to be an esthetician. Nothing I do works. I may need a chemical peel.

@Jessica Helms love this primer! Also don’t rub or smooth it on. Press it into the pores!

Hey I’m trying to go for the 10 step Korean sink care routine but need help finding som products for my skin. I have dry skin, sensitive skin but I have never had any major breakouts. I really want to achieve the “glass skin” look. I am looking for a: 1. Oil cleanser 2. Water base cleanser 3. Exfoliator 4. Toner 5. Essence 6. Serum 7. Face mask 8. Eye cream 9. Moisturizer 10. Sunscreen I would hope that everything would total up to around 125$ if that is possible. #advice

OilyOily Skin
Hello beauties! I just started a new skincare routine and I’m wondering if I’m missing anything? I have combo to oily with skin with lines (around the eyes) just beginning to form and extremely large pores and texture. Morning 1) Miscellar water - Garnier (sometimes a cleanser after - Philosophy) 2) Toner - Fresh 3) Vitamin C - Tatcha 4) Under eye cream - Drunk Elephant (thinking I want to try Shiseido 5) Moisturizer - Drunk elephant polypeptide (currently mixing with DEs marula oil) Night 1) Cleanser - Philosohy 2) Toner - Fresh 3) under eye cream - Drunk Elephant 4) Usually glycerin but I’ve begun introducing retinol, not in the same night! I use one or the other - both Drunk Elephant 5) Moisturizer mixed with the marula oil - DE I’ve been seeing ‘essence’ and don’t really get it lol. Is it just for added hydration?

Thoughts on Flower Beauty? I have been interested in trying their products for months and want to know what products are must haves. I’m also curious about the longevity of their light illusion foundation and if it would work on my combo/acne prone skin.

i have a few friends who freelance, and the best thing i could say is to charge whatever you think your work is worth. for a full face some people i know charge up to $70 or $80 or way more depending on the quality of your products, your skill, and how well you take care of your clients. make sure to connect with them too, the experience counts a lot more than you’d think!
