Does anyone have any suggestions on foundation and or powder? I’ve been using the Elf Flawless Finish Foundation and the Born This Way loose powder from Too Faced. It goes on nicely and feels good but by the end of the day it looks AWFUL!! And I seriously can’t describe other than it looks like I splat it on my hands and rubbed it on my face.. Its so disheartening because i adore makeup but i can’t get my base right 😑

It could be caused by the primer you’re using. I used Elf primer for a while but it’s didn’t work well throughout the day on my skin. I just started using the Yensa Tone Up Primer, and it’s worked really throughout the day for well for me. I use Elf Foundation and Elf Setting Powder, alongside the Revolution setting spray.

So I’ve been struggling with this problem for a while now. I have an oily skin type. I take care of my skin by cleansing, moisturizing and exfoliating regularly, and I always use primer before applying foundation. However, every time I apply my foundation it does not apply smoothly. It always looks splotchy and makes my skin look dry. I cannot figure out how to obtain that flawless, smooth skin look!! Can anyone help me with tips on how they apply their foundation so that it looks smooth and natural?? #skincare #foundation

It’s possible that your brushes aren’t doing a great job at evenly spreading your foundation and in turn, make it look patchy. I really like the Real Techniques brushes I’ve tagged. Also, if you’re using a Beauty Blender, make sure you wet it before using it to apply foundation! On the other hand, it could be the foundation (or other product you’re using—primer, moisturizer) is expired, not good with your skin type, or another factor. You could try using a different product in your routine and see if it makes a difference!

my cheeks are super pigmented red and they’re hard to cover and if i use a tinted moisturizer my skin just feels beat up and my skin gets super dry and rough. it’s like you can see every pore and crack by the end of the day even though i’m young so this shouldn’t happen 😂 i want flawless skin but don’t know how to achieve it w super red cheeks and dry skin. open to a whole routine from skincare-foundation-concealers that won’t do this.

100% check out Rodan and Fields. They have a whole line dedicated to reducing redness and irritation! My suggestions are their Soothe regimen and then their Active Hydration Serum to combat dryness! But I would also take their personalized skincare quiz to see what products they recommend for your specific skin and skin goals!

They also have a 60 day, empty bottle, money back guarantee. So you either like your results or you get your money back which is a huge plus because there is literally zero risk to investing into your skin.
