really pretty packaging its like mirror copper im like "where's my bronzer oh yeah it's in the shiny gold hexagon" anyways looks really smooth on the skin and private island is the right shade to make shadows on my skin tone

- Sephora User

my skin looked smooth, poreless and hydrated and it was so light weight

does not have fallout

it goes on smoothly with minimal fallout

- Sephora User

no fall out and compliments my skin color very nicely

- Sephora User

i’m not too into heavy contour personally so this gives a beautiful glow and adds dimension

- Sephora User

i also use a lightweight brightener under my eyes and blend with this to blur the lines

- Sephora User

blends well

blends amazingly well over top of basically every foundation i wear, very easy to build

- Sephora User

packaging is so cute and amazing it works and blends beautifully i look like i’ve been lightly sunkissed during the winter i love it

- Sephora User

it blends and builds beautifully, it’s natural but still shows, it lasts all day, it’s no fuss

- Sephora User

this looks beautiful and stays on

- Sephora User

the formula is particularly impressive to me; it’s matte but the texture is so creamy and smooth, and when you apply it, it blends like a dream

- Sephora User

natural looking and has a buttery soft texture that feels good on the skin

- Sephora User

this offers beautiful coverage without being too heavy or too sheer-just right

I cannot believe I lived without this. Here's the scoop: If you have dry skin, I don't think this will work on you, you might actually hate it. My face: I am oily on my T zone and I get pimples here and there, sometimes I have around 4 pimples at a time, my skin is tan and therefore my shade is also tan. If you aren't a full coverage girl like me, just got a tiny bit on your face, THIS FOUNDATION IS REALLY THICK. If you want more coverage this is really buildable, I would suggest a buffing brush if you have more things to cover and suggest a beauty blender if you want to look as if you have no make up on your face (which is what I do). This blends into my skin like a dream, when I look in the mirror, my face doesn't look cakey or that is has make up. It covers my pimples so easily without having to build up, if you build up you'll get a great full coverage. My husband, who thinks that cheap and high end foundations look the same on me (lol) praised this foundation when he looked at me after the first time I put it on without putting blush or anything else. I read that this leaves your dry patches dryer, and that's what it did for me too but then I learned how to properly moisturize my face. What I do for moisturizing is wash my face, toner, eye cream, serum, wait for 5 minutes, then moisturizer, wait for 7 minutes until my face is plump, then I apply this baby and it is awesome. If I want a dewy look, I don't apply setting powder and if I want a matte look then I apply the tarte setting powder. My every day make up look is mascara, foundation and blush and that's it. Seriously I'm good to go. This foundation stays on pretty good without touch ups for 8 hours and then on the 9th hour it kinda starts to die, and then maybe on the 10th hour is dead. Less

Perfect coverage, flawless finish

Now that I'm on my third tube of this product, I feel qualified to give a thorough review. First off, as foundation is an extremely personal thing, I will state that I will be 41 this year and thus my foundation needs have altered drastically in the past 20 years. These days, I need good coverage from something non-drying, I need it to be buildable, I personally like my foundation to feel light on my face, and I like a little SPF if possible. This product is perfect for my current needs. It is creamy in consistency (unlike other full-coverage foundations I have tried, which are so thick they're difficult to get on), long-lasting, and the shade match is absolutely perfect (I should note, also, that I first discovered this product through Sephora's in-store Color IQ complimentary service, which I highly recommend). I am a performer and have worn this onstage many times, and also for commercial shoots. For a lighter coverage (i.e. summertime), it mixes easily with moisturiser - I have a slighly-shimmery one I like to blend it with for these lighter-wear days (like a beach day) and the effect is fabulous. The tube is a generous 1.7 oz - if you compare, you will find that a lot of comparable foundations give you less product. One final tip: having tried various methods of application, I have found a beauty sponge to work best for a flawless finish with this product. Less

HG for fair yellow skin

Finally a foundation that matches my skin! Fair skin with yellow tones, and I use fair sand which is perfect. I use a tiny amount of the foundation and mix one of the Giorgio Armani Sheer fluid with it ( I use the no. 7 colour if I recall, it's a pale white/pinkish shimmer) and my skin looks flawless :) I use the hourglass mineral veil primer, and on top of the foundation I use the light sand concealer from Tarte for pimples and under eye circles. I then set everything lightly with the Tarte translucent pressed powder and use Becca in moonstone to highlight my cheekbones. I never had so many compliments on my skin :) It looks very natural, dewy, but not oily and does wonder for sensitive skin. Did not break me out, itch, or feel heavy. That being said, I use very little of it and I swirl the Armani sheer fluid with the foundation until it becomes creamy and then apply with a Beauty Blender. My skin is combination and I have imperfections here and there on top of having a skin tone that is fair and prone to redness. I am extremely happy with Tarte's choice of colours and great face products. I am very particular about not looking cakey and wanting the same colour on my neck and face, and this foundation did not oxidyde on me at all and last all day. I an very much impressed :) Less

Fantastic foundation!!!

Every now and then I go on a foundation hunt for a new foundation whether I'm happy with what I have or not just to see if there are new and improved formulas, just to try products I haven't tried in a while, etc., to see if maybe I'll find a formula that works better for me. Well I've been with the same MAC foundation for a year or more so I thought it was time to go foundation hunting again and I'm so glad I did because I fell in love with the Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Foundation! I know I have tried it before a while back, but for some reason it just made my skin look perfect this time around. I love the light and airy feel to the liquid--it almost has a mousse feel to it because it is so lightweight. I actually apply this foundation with my fingers instead of one of my collection of foundation brushes because it just smoothes on so well without streaking. I take a cosmetic sponge after I apply it and dab over my face to ensure I have no streaks, but this foundation honestly gives me such beautiful, even, full coverage with using such a tiny amount of product that it is completely amazing to me! I have sun damage and various other pigmentation issues we gals get as we age and this foundation covers everything perfectly without looking heavy or cakey. This foundation is a miracle-worker for me--I love it!!! And it lives up to its claim that it will stay on for 12 hours, because I have had long days and it has held up very well with just adding a little powder over it. I get a little oily in areas and just an oil absorbing sheet or a little powder keeps this foundation going and going. I think it definitely deserves 5 stars!!! Less

Irritated my face!

I bought this foundation and i was very excited to try it because i had heard great things about it. But after several uses and trying to get myself to love it seeing that i paid almost $40 for it, I just had to give it up. The first thing i did not like was the thick consistency of the foundation it was very thick and cakey. I also bought the bamboo airbrush finish foundation brush to apply it with and did not like the results with the brush. Using the brush did not blend it into my skin very well. It left swirl marks all over my face. I went over it with my beauty blender to blend it out. But i liked applying it with my fingers better than using a applicator. Another dislike would be that my face started stinging and burning after about 30 seconds of applying the foundation each time i wore it. My face would also feel itchy at times during the day. After wearing it a few days in a row my face started breaking out like crazing and it also make my face very dry even with me continuing my normal skincare regimen that included moisturizer. This also claims to be a 12 hour wear and a full coverage foundation. I have to say i disagree with both of those statements. I would put this at a medium coverage because it did not conceal any of my freckles or dark spots. It also started wearing off about 3 hours after application. Less

Bronzer help pls!! I’m very pale and need a bronzer that won’t make me orange. I’ve tried hoola (both the regular and light shades) & soleil tan de Chanel. They all make me orange and look super patchy by the end of the day. The only makeup I wear is mascara and bronzer. Thank you in advance (:

I use the darkest shade Mocha Mami! Works well runs a little red in undertone but I’m fine with that cause it ensures it doesn’t look ashy! Only bronzer that’s ever worked for my dark skin!

ok, so this is very buildable. I would take a fluffier/larger brush and dip the brush in the bronzer and lightly touch the brush to your cheekbone with upwards motion. almost put it where you would want your blush.
