Favorite Foundation! Love it.

Love this foundation ladies!! Highly recommend didn’t want to make a huge story so I made My review simple as possible. What you would want to know or what I would look for in a foundation. My shade - 420 and 430 sadly,2 pumps 420 and 1/2 pump of 430 I have to mix in order to suite my Neutral Undertone. Which a lot of other brands of foundation do not carry enough neutral for the med - brown girls a shade 425 would be nice.NO foundation I’ve tried has ever gave me a Vibrant, glow or amazing contrast as this foundation does. I don’t know how to describe the color but... the tone is just perfect and beautiful.Wear test: The longest time I’ve reached was 10 hours it still looked great with a few blots. About 13 hours it started to wear off a bit, I have combination to oily skin. It holds up amazing with and without primer(I used Makeup forever Step 1 Smoothing Primer) Better with primer of courseHow It Feels: It feels light weight and feels exactly like skin. I’ve had no issues with blending with my damp beauty blender... I don’t like brushesRecommended skin type: normal to dry, normal to oily. If you have oily skin, I wouldn’t really try this foundation, play with it a little before you give up on it though. My mother have Dry skin and it really gives her that hydration look and moisture she needs.... for oily girls TRY to use a matte primer than the foundation don’t give up so easily! The shades is a tad bit different than the matte formula... not too much, so happy I can wear this foundation as of the matte formula broke my skin out badly leaving marks that her new hydration foundation covers amazingly by the way sooo... (See what I did there? Lol)COVERAGE: coverage Is amazing!!! Highly recommend, it’s like a layer of fresh vibrant skin. Honestly, I always wanted to wear the matte foundation and it broke me out so bad that I still have the marks but they are fading away.... this one definitely makes up for it.Thanks Rih,Rih. Less

This foundation is pretty sweet and ranks in my top three favorites. The color selection is awesome, and I can toggle between my winter and summer shades really easily. The coverage is medium to full for sure but not from just one or two pumps like the instructions say. I generally use a pump on each cheek and my forehead and blend out from there, and that’s enough to cancel out any red without burying my freckles. It goes on fairly radiant, but its shine factor decreases significantly upon setting powder application (surprise surprise lol). I have normal to dry-ish skin and, while it’s certainly not drying, I don’t feel it’s particularly hydrating either. That being said, it’s still very comfortable.I use it with the Fenty retouch primer and their setting powder in Butter, and it looks gorgeous and studio ready for the first couple hours. After around 5 hours on me, it starts to look a lil cakey on my upper lip and t zone, and creases a tad by the corners of my mouth. That’s usually not a problem since I don’t wear makeup on the daily, but because I started working at a makeup store recently, it would probably be best if my makeup lasted the entire shift haha. After reading through some of the reviews, it seems this foundation doesn’t play well with oil, so perhaps if I used a different moisturizer than my Shea Moisture grape seed or pumpkin seed oils it would stay better. Or perhaps I’m too heavy handed with the powder? Either way, it’s perfect for pretty much any other time I would wear makeup, like for going out on the town or to dinner.I also would like to give it some points for the very cute and convenient tube format. Pretty hard to break plastic, which is a very real concern in my household lolAnyway, my highlight for this foundation is the fact that it’s never broken me out. Even when I’ve fallen asleep with it on, I’ve only had a few bumps here and there after. Less

Caking? Creasing? Too Light? How to Remedy this.

I'm used to usng the Fenty matte forumula, and I use 385 in matte, and I love the matte for the summer of course. I bought this one for the winter as my skin gets dry. I when began using this, I was very disappointed. Now you're probably wondering why I gave it five stars. I learned how to work with it.1. I'm use to the the matte formula oxidizing to my color, and realized that this one doesn't, and it is slightly too light, so I bought the 390, and now I mix the two, and it becomes my perfect shade.2. It looked heavy on my face with full coverage, so now I only use a half a pump of 385 and a half a pump of 390, which makes make face look more soft glam and natural. My freckles are still visible under my foundation, and there less creasing.3. In my smile lines before applying my foundation (after applying the primer,) I smear eye primer on my smile lines, then go in with the foundation on top of that. It works pretty good.4. I find that this foundation doesn't mix well with powdered bronzers, it looks too cakey, so I go in with the match stix which are more oil-based like the foundation itself. I use the Truffle match stick, and it blends with the foundation flawlessly. Of course you must warm the match stix on your hand before applying.5. Another thing that helps me prevent caking is applying the setting powder where I applied the concealer. So I apply concealer under my eyes, T-zone, bridge of nose and under my nose and on my chin, and that's where I also apply my setting powder, because the concealer and setting powder mix well without caking.I took me a long time to realize all of these tricks, and now when I use this foundation, my face looks looks beautiful, soft glam. If you have textured skin, you may want to stick with the matte formula. Also practicing a good skin routine (10 step Korean skin care.) really helps improve the health of your skin so that any foundation will look flawless on you. i hope this helps! Less

If I could give this 0 stars I would...

I wanted to love this so bad... Rihanna I love you but I need to be honest, this stuff is garbage. I have combination skin, but I’m only a little dry and a little oily on my nose. Nothing that ever affected my makeup application. I tried the original formula first and it looked gross and dry and cakey, so I figured maybe I’m a little dry right now so I’ll try this one. Tried then mixed together and on their own. No matter what I did, this stuff would NOT sit on my skin, particularly on my nose and tzone area of my cheeks. My nose looked scary. Tried to save it with powder, made it worse. It picks up and looks chalky and gross! I tried moisturizer, primer, both, and nothing underneath it and no matter what it looked so bad I couldn’t even leave it on and just deal with it. I thought it was my skin even though I have a solid skin care routine and my skin is very smooth, so I had my sister try it and the exact same thing happened to her, but it also made her nose peel when she removed it. Not to mention it felt super sticky and heavy, and I’m a daily medium-full coverage foundation wearer. And even with a massive shade and skin tone range, I STILL had to mix shade 120 and 100 together or I either looked too light, or too dark. I’ve never hated a makeup product more than I hated this one... which sucks because I had very high hopes and was so excited to try it. SUPER disappointed and unsatisfied on every level with this stuff. Less

Finally, a perfect fit!

I have been obsessed with the Fenty line ever since it first launched. Gloss bomb? In my purse at ALL times. Killawatt highlighters? Probably my favorite part of my makeup routine, and yes, I collect them. But foundation? I could never get the OG Pro Filter Soft Matte foundation to look as stunning and as completely flawless as it did on countless others. I knew it had to be me. Was it my application? My dry to very dry skin? Did I need to adjust my skincare routine? I did it all, everything that was in my power, yet it just wasn’t my perfect fit. Don’t get me wrong, I could totally make it work for me. But even with hydrating serums, gentle exfoliating, balancing softeners, treatment masks, oils and whipped face butters, I still had dry skin days! And a matte foundation wasn’t always the most flattering choice for me. So sadly, while I loved that this line opened up the doors for countless others, I excepted that this foundation just wasn’t really for me. Until now. Nothing makes my heart race like the launch of a new Fenty Beauty product. And I... about... died... (figuratively) when I saw that Fenty was launching a HYDRATING FOUNDATION in the same iconic shade range!!! I had it try it! Could this be it? Could this be exactly what I needed? It was everything I wanted, and more than I expected. The finish was absolutely flawless. My skin but better. Medium coverage? Check. Full coverage? We’ve got you covered! I had the perfect color, the perfect undertone, the perfect finish, and did I mention it stays in place... ALL DAY. Finally, I found my perfect fit.

I’m having trouble getting the Dewey look. I’ve currently been using the LA colors truly matte foundation, I’ve tried the kat von d liquid to powder it’s just not enough coverage for me, and I tried the Huda foundation and hated it. I love the one I’m using now, I just wish I could find a more dewy foundation, or a powder or setting spray that’s gonna give me a dewy look. I bake under my eyes and apply powder all over my face, and use setting spray, it helps my makeup stay on all day and not fade. I’ve been getting the dewy look with my highlighter, but it doesn’t look natural, soooo any suggestions or tips??

I’m looking for a foundation or bb cream that’s light. I usually wear concealers alone but I want to find something that looks natural and I can wear for everyday. I have VERY dry skin and most foundations cling to my dry patches. #drugstore #dry

To prevent rubbing off nose when placing foundation on, place excess foundation on brush on nose. Don’t go so heavy on nose. For no creasing, use Mac Prep + Prime setting spray before and after wearing foundation and then using a setting powder. Don’t use a lot since you have dry skin.
