Looking for the best primer to wear under Estée Lauder Double Wear foundation. I get shiny on my forehead and chin by end of day

I am a primer loving fiend; however, I feel the Estée Lauder double wear does not need a primer. It honestly performs well on its own, BUT if you’re dead set on a primer look for one that’s water based more than silicone based. ELDW is a water-based foundation, so using a silicone primer is like putting oil in water. The products are not compatible and can cause separation and patchiness throughout the day. I got the hangover RX on sale at Sephora and it pairs well with the ELDW since it is a very matte foundation. I’m extremely oily, but when oily skin is overly mattified and dehydrated it can actually cause more sebum/oil production. The hangover primer actually works great with it!

my skin has been oily for years, i would get a pimple here and there when i usually ate one chocolate, skin has always been on the bumpy side though, and i have alot of uneven skin tone. now to try to get rid of the oils and bumpiness my sister recommend using the body shop tea tree soap, then the body shot vitamin c scrub and them the tea tree face mask and to sleep in it. i tried it and got chemical burn, completely broke me out and make my skin more sensitive to everything, i used to be able to use estee lauder double wear and now even that breaks me out. ive tried all the vitamins everyone has recommended, i tried clinique, stirvectin, hydrolic acid, now im on cerave the light blue bottle face wash, i tone put the hydrolic serum and face moisturizer im so close to giving up, my face just looks horrible now i have alot of scarring, still bumpy and red. its embarrassing, any recommendations welcomed!!

@Sandra Rivera having a good skin care regimen is always important. Making sure you cleanse and moisturize every morning and cleansing and toning every night as well. I’m using DermAware products right now for my whole skin care regimen. Has the dermatologist ever recommended chemical peels?

So I have been using Esteé Lauder’s double wear foundation but by the end of the day my face looks cakey, my pores are showing through, and it looks gross honestly. Does anyone else have this problem? I’m thinking it might be the moisturizer I’m using, the setting spray or the powder... #help #esteelauder #tipsandtricks #tips #foundation #primer #longlasting

That’s so weird. I have really oily acne prone skin and this foundation was my holy grail. Try using the primer from the same brand, and a different setting powder. the Laura Mercier setting powder is what i use :)

@syd the kid i honestly think it might be because I need to change up my moisturizer! I use elf’s poreless putty or babyskin poreless primer after I moisturizer and I use Dermablends setting powder! What primer do you use?

Okay I have tried so many foundation lately, and like nothing. 😭 I tried Estée Lauder double wear since EVERYONE swears by.. it broke me out terribly (yes it was the foundation I switched nothing else and waited for my skin to clear before trying it again). Other foundations I’ve tried below...suggestions please prefer a matte finish. -Dior forever -Clinique Stay matte - Too Faced Born this way -Urban Decay all nighter

If you haven’t tried this yet it’s pretty good, it has really good coverage and what I consider to be a more matte finish, and it works well with most skin types.

What is a good CLEANSING OIL? I want to start double cleansing, and I’m not sure what to use! Preferably something not super expensive (Christmas is too close), but i would like to hear any suggestions! Also, a good PM cleanser would be a bonus! I’m almost out of my face wash and am wanting to try something new. My main concern in my face is my hormonal acne. I really love ANYTHING hydrating, brightening, and smoothing. Thanks in advance!☺️ #esthetician #skincare #help #sos #skincarehelp #cleansingoil #facewash #nightimeskincare #nightskincare

This stuff is great. Removes all makeup, dirt, oil, etc and leaves a blank surface where you can then go in and use your regular cleanser.

I second the grape seed oil!!! I use the Pompeian brand. I know it can be scary at first with acne-prone skin, but it breaks down makeup better than any makeup remover!

Looking for recommendations for a cleansing oil or balm for removing makeup at the end of the day that does not have coconut oil or any palm derivative. Currently use micellar water but my face is getting drier (accutane 😒) and think an oil would be less irritating. Will double cleanse but want one that doesn’t leave too much of a residue when rinsed off with water. Minimal or no fragrance would also be great!

Dupes?? I really like the Estée Lauder double wear stay in place foundation but I don’t like the price tag. I love the full coverage and it works well with my red and combination skin. Does anyone know of any dupes that are just a little cheaper than the retail of $42?

I have a dupe for the Estée Lauder double wear, It is a korean brand and its about $15 on Yesstyle, I have NOT try it personally but everyone said that they feel exactly the same on the face. Etude House is a really famous brand in Korea so it’s not just some copycat product on the internet. The only thing that you should notice about korean beauty is it’s only have Asian skintone, I don’t know if the shade that they provide matches you or not, but if you think that you are darker than most of Asian people I think you should choose the shade Amber.

I am looking for a foundation that last about 10-12hours. My skin is super dry but I also work a long shift and usually end up sweating on my face now that it’s turning into summer. I notice most foundations crack, separate and cling to patches above my upper lip,on my nose and the creases of my nose and chin. I was using the estè lauder double wear or the born this way too faced and those do it as well. Any tips or recommendations?
