I am so glad I got a sample size of this mascara (Diorshow Iconic Overcurl), because I never would have spent the money to try it otherwise. Simply put, this is The Best Mascara I have ever used. Until they stop making this, I will keep buying it like a Dior addict, regardless of price. Why? One stroke (yes one) deposits the richest color and it lengthens, thickens, and really curls! It's amazing. If you like a thick, almost-false-lash look, a couple of solid coats will do the trick. I have pretty thin, light lashes and this makes them look massive and long, but not clumpy or spidery. Seriously, I get so many compliments on my "beautiful eyes" with this mascara. That didn't happen so much before ;-). Finally, I use the regular, non-waterproof version, but I recently took a week-long vacation at the beach and this stuff didn't budge through *hours* of ocean swimming, sun, and sand! « less

This is THE BEST mascara I have ever used! I have naturally long, thick eyelashes but they're so straight, they almost curl downwards. I have tried so so many mascaras and I use an eyelash curler religiously, but since they're thick, they don't always hold a curl that well and the mascara ends up weighing them down. I was at the Beauty Studio and the makeup artist used this on me and I was floored. All of the other artists kept coming up to me saying they couldn't believe those were my real lashes- they thought they were fake eyelashes! I thought the Benefit Rollerlash was my holy grail mascara, but this blew it right out of the water. No other mascara that I own even compares to this one. It grabs all of your lashes and gives them an intense curl. If you're like me and you have naturally straight lashes that can be easily weighed down by mascara, you have to try this! You won't be disappointed. I will say it can get a little clumpy, but nothing that an eyelash comb can't fix. Just be sure to comb through it while they're still wet, « less

Although this isn't a review for Dior's "Extase" mascara (my previous, almost-there-but-not-quite-right choice), I could have titled this "Extase"---because I am in ecstasy. This is (for me) THE Perfect Mascara. With one coat, it gives me thicker, fuller, completely natural-looking-but-spectacular, fetchingly curved and curled lashes that are black but not BLACK---and that don't look as if spiders have decided to live above my eyes. And with two coats, I get thicker, more dramatic lashes than I've ever had before that look just like I'm wearing the best false-lashes...but don't make me look like a drag-queen (a perfectly valid look, but not the one I'm trying to achieve). The formula is phenomenally long-wearing (and I'm VERY tough on mascara, inevitably ending up with raccoon smudges after a few hours) but not harsh: I don't ever have that awful feeling that there's a sliver of...something in my eyes that wants OUT that I forcibly endure with other long-wearing mascaras for vanity's sake. Application does take a little initial fiddling: I've found that if you place the curve of the brush against the base of the lashes and then do that wee "wiggle-up" motion a couple of times (the same motion that those battery-powered mascaras produce that one can easily replicate oneself), all the lashes get coated, separated, and curled perfectly. By adjusting the placement of the brush, you can also mimic the addition of false lashes to, say, only the outer corners of the eye (which opens up the eye and gives that "Come Hither"/kitty-cat look). Yeah: it's pricey, but I think that it's worth every penny---and, if you compare it to the cost of, say, lash-extensions (which more than one person has asked me if I'd gotten) or even a good pair of falsies? Whatta deal!!! So, IMHO, this is one of those rare products that is quietly revolutionary, unparalleled, spectacular, and, well, non-pareil!

First off let me say that I am an avid fan of all things Dior mascara. I've tried other mascaras over the years and I always find my way back to Diorshow or Diorshow Iconic. I purchased this on 3/17/2013 and I am utterly thrilled with it thus far. I love that Dior's formula(s) have a thicker consistency versus other brands. It really adheres to my lashes, hugging them. I do wipe off a lot of the product back into the tube because the formula is a thicker consistency. One coat it just perfect for my liking. I have tried this with and without curling my lashes just to see the difference. I was pleasantly surprised when I had forgone the eyelash curler. This gave my lashes a subtle yet eye opening (pun intended) effect. But when I used my eyelash curler before applying the mascara there was definitely more curl. Either way this is a fantastic mascara. I dose not clump. It lengthened, curled and gave me gorgeous lashes. It also stayed put all day even through eye drops and rubbing my eyes due to allergies. So that's an added bonus as I do not believe this is marketed as a "waterproof" formula. All in all, another fabulous product by Dior. « less

I had bought and loved the Diorshow Iconic mascara and then after that was finished, I decided to try this Overcurl Mascara, believing that it would provide even more curl than the Iconic. Well, I was bitterly disappointed. This barely curled my lashes and did not provide much length. It takes a little longer to dry, so sometimes it would smudge, even the waterproof version. I will NOT be buying this mascara again. I will go back to the Diorshow Iconic with the newer straight wand style, which somehow curled my lashes WAY better and lengthened my lashes without clumping.
