best lengthening mascara i've bought

- Sephora User

this is the "holy grail" of perfect mascara - not too thin or thick, lengthening, volumizing - just gorgeous

- Sephora User

curling

i also love how it curls and defines my lashes

- Sephora User

it's not an "intense-volume" mascara, yet the lift and curl that it gave my lashes was so gorgeous that it gave the illusion of great, full lashes without gobs of makeup

by far the best mascara for jet black eyelashes, without clumps, for added thickness and length

it gives your lashes amazing volume, the curl is gorgeous, and it smells great - like all dior products do - yet it doesn't irritate your eyes

Non-Pareil...

Although this isn't a review for Dior's "Extase" mascara (my previous, almost-there-but-not-quite-right choice), I could have titled this "Extase"---because I am in ecstasy. This is (for me) THE Perfect Mascara. With one coat, it gives me thicker, fuller, completely natural-looking-but-spectacular, fetchingly curved and curled lashes that are black but not BLACK---and that don't look as if spiders have decided to live above my eyes. And with two coats, I get thicker, more dramatic lashes than I've ever had before that look just like I'm wearing the best false-lashes...but don't make me look like a drag-queen (a perfectly valid look, but not the one I'm trying to achieve). The formula is phenomenally long-wearing (and I'm VERY tough on mascara, inevitably ending up with raccoon smudges after a few hours) but not harsh: I don't ever have that awful feeling that there's a sliver of...something in my eyes that wants OUT that I forcibly endure with other long-wearing mascaras for vanity's sake.Application does take a little initial fiddling: I've found that if you place the curve of the brush against the base of the lashes and then do that wee "wiggle-up" motion a couple of times (the same motion that those battery-powered mascaras produce that one can easily replicate oneself), all the lashes get coated, separated, and curled perfectly.By adjusting the placement of the brush, you can also mimic the addition of false lashes to, say, only the outer corners of the eye (which opens up the eye and gives that "Come Hither"/kitty-cat look).Yeah: it's pricey, but I think that it's worth every penny---and, if you compare it to the cost of, say, lash-extensions (which more than one person has asked me if I'd gotten) or even a good pair of falsies? Whatta deal!!!So, IMHO, this is one of those rare products that is quietly revolutionary, unparalleled, spectacular, and, well, non-pareil! « less

Not worth the switch

I've been shopping around different mascaras - not sure why, because the original DiorShow works just fine for me, but hey, there's always that curiosity that maybe something better is out there.Unfortunately, it's not DiorShow Iconic. It's a fine mascara - long-lasting and not clumpy at all. But it barely does anything to my short, pin-straight lashes. It's about equivalent to some drugstore brand mascaras that I've tried, and definitely nowhere near the dramatic results I can get with the original DiorShow. The length is average and volume very disappointing.I will not be repurchasing and do not recommend DiorShow Iconic for people with short, Asian eyelashes.

This Mascara DOUBLES the Length of My Lashes!

I'm in my late 20s, and much to my chagrin, my lashes simply aren't as long and lush as they used to be. I'm always trying dozens of different mascaras, searching for one that will give me the length I want. This one is the absolute BEST! When I first started wearing it, I received several compliments on how lovely my lashes looked! It literally doubles the length of my lashes. It also defines and separates so that lashes never look clumpy or unnatural. I've found that if I apply it with a twirling motion starting at the roots of my eyelashes and moving upward, it gives my lashes a very nice curl (I hate eyelash curlers and hardly ever use them) that lasts all day. If applied right, this mascara leaves no lash behind, even the long lahes at the outer corner of my eye are doubled in length--a great way to get that cat-eyes look without even having to use eyeliner!I have very sensitive eyes and wear contacts and many mascaras have really irritated my eyes. This one has never given me any problems. Once applied, it doesn't smudge or streak. More importantly, it never flakes so I don't have to worry about getting little pieces in my eyes like I do with so many other mascaras. It also is easily removed with the right eye makeup remover and I don't lose as many lashes when removing it as I do with other mascaras. The only not-so-great thing about this mascara is that it doesn't give you much of an increase in volume. For me, the increase and length and definition make for a great classic, everyday look, but for special occasions I want my eye makeup to be a little more dramatic. On these occasions, I like to use another mascara along with this one to increase volume (tarte's "lights, camera, lashes!" works well.) So if length is more of an issue for you than volume, I definitely recommend this mascara. If you want to bump up the volume too, then I'd recommend using it along with a volumizing mascara. I know it's expensive and the price seems a little ridiculous for a tube of mascara. But believe me, you get what you pay for, and it ends up being worth every penny. « less

most amazing mascara ever

I have dark, medium-length, stick-straight lashes, and I feel like I've used every mascara known to man. I'd recently been switching between smashbox bionic mascara and the regular diorshow. the smashbox I loved for the length and definition, and the diorshow I loved for the curl and the density of lashes it created for me. after reading some stellar reviews, I figured I would give this a try. OH MY GOD.to begin with, I LOVE the brush. the silicone bristles grab each of my lashes and coat them with mascara, without ever getting goopy and looking like spidery-lashes.the formula of the mascara is great, too--it builds quickly so you don't have to use a ton to get yourself looooooooonnnnnnng, gorgeous lashes. every single lash is left looking long, thick, defined, curled. I even wore this stuff into a tanning bed shortly after applying it, and it didn't melt off or budge from my lashes at all. this is my new favorite mascara, and worth every penny.also, for the older ladies, this mascara isn't just for women who want the look of ridiculously long false lashes. my 54 year old mom bought herself a tube, too, and she loves it! it's easy to make your lashes as natural or as dramatic as you want. don't be afraid to give it a try! « less

Check out my pictures of only one coat!

I am only wearing one coat of this stuff in the pictures! And I was surprised at the pictures too! Because any of you who have tried to take pictures on a camera phone know that they turn out rather yellow and the little details get lost in the pixels. I have the non waterproof Iconic mascara in black on in the pictures. It felt really smooth when it went on. I mean it glided on like I was applying lotion to my eyelashes, but without the clumping. I saw a few people thought this was clumpy, I thoroughly disagree. They must have had a bad batch or let moisture into the container because this stuff is like black liquid silk on my lashes. The little brush has a gajillion little teeth and I know it's looks to be designed to manually spin as you apply, but i did no such thing and did not have a problem with my results. I do not think this is a voluminous mascara myself. This is a definition, length, some thickening, drama but still sophisticated type mascara. You can get really long lashes, and if you want volume you could layer applications, but what you'll get are longer-still, darker lashes. I would recommend combining this with a different mascara or going with another choice all together if you are looking for VOLUME. I personally love how I have glamorous move star lashes. And I am not wearing fake lashes. Super awesome mascara. I'm so glad I tried this! I would recommend it to anyone who wants definition and length for sure. The package is a little boring, but who cares when it's the results you are after? « less

I need a new mascara. I have the Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes one and I do like the formula. However I find that by the end of the day my lashes do not look curled anymore. Any recommendations for mascaras similar to this that will hold a curl longer?

My fav and go to is the Diorshow iconic high definition lash curler mascara, it’s little on the pricey side but it is worth the splurge ❤️❤️
