Best foundation with SPF 15!

Although it does not mention it in the description, this excellent foundation has SPF 15 sun protection. This has been my favorite foundation for a few years now, after using Armani Luminous Silk Foundation and Chanel foundations. This foundation is a medium coverage foundation and stays put for most of the day, which is what I love most about it most. I have somewhat dry skin, but a little oiliness on the nose and t-zone, and this works perfectly. It give a velvety soft finish, with just a touch of a dewy finish. It is not matte, but it is "polished." It is definitely not as dewy as the Armani Luminous Silk, which does not have the staying power of this foundation, nor the SPF. Great range of natural colors, too. It's not inexpensive, but a little goes a long way and it lasts me 6-7 months. I like the sanitary and convenient little pump, which keeps the foundation air tight. Best foundation out there now, in my opinion. « less

Finally a flawless finish

I have tried a lot of foundations (e.g. Dior Nude, Dior Forever, Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk, Tarte AC, Stilla, Shiseido Synchro, YVES Touche Eclat le Teint, etc. etc.), and have yet to find one that truly behaves like "skin" when my skin is misbehaving. (For reference, I have dry-normal skin that is very prone to hormonal acne. Most products break me out.) When my skin is great, most of these foundations are pretty good, but I can still tell I am wearing foundation and some days are more even than others in terms of cracking, flaking etc. Some are great initially (Dior Nude), but breakdown over time. Others are pretty good over time (Dior Forever, GA Luminous Silk), but still look like makeup and look bad when my skin is dry from acne treatments. Shishiedo is good if your skin is already perfectly moisturized and even, but my skin meets this criteria a few days a month if I am lucky. All seemed to make my skin look dull, but at least gave me coverage. I accepted that I might not ever find a foundation that makes my face look flawless. Then I tried this. I don't have mature skin, but I have a lot of red spots from old breakouts. This is a miracle. My skin looks moisturized and flawless. It is dewy, radiant, and luminous, but not in the "I am wearing tons of luminous makeup" way. Finally a foundation that doesn't make me look dull or like I am wearing a mask, and just looks like perfect skin. I also bought Dior Nude Serum (very minimal coverage, but similar in terms of "no-makeup skin look") and use that on my forehead and places where my skin is naturally even to extend the life of the $83 CTF. Note: I've bought hundreds of products from Sephora and this is the first I've ever bothered to review, so I would recommend it if you have problematic skin that you have trouble getting a flawless finish with. « less

I have combo, sensitive skin prone to redness, and sadly in the winter time my skin gets extra dry around certain areas like my mouth and forehead. I am NC20 skintone and I got the color 021 and it matched me perfectly. I used to use the Dior Nudeskin and 021 was my color in that range as well. As Ive been gearing up for spring, I ended up with a horrid allergic reaction courtesy of BareMinerals. My entire face was bumpy, irritated, itchy, and dry like Saharan sandpaper. It would drink up moisturizer within minutes(!) and I had to keep reapplying to keep my face from feeling too taut and uncomfortable. Even though La Mer moisturizer offered me the most relief, it was still temporary and I needed reapplication throughout the day. Yes, it was that bad. Anyway, I purchased this because I was looking for a foundation that I could use during situations like this when my skin needs something extra loving and supportive; something gentle that performs in a skin-like way when applied, with specific anti-aging properties. The dryness made me worried I would form wrinkles from this experience because my skin was so dry, rough and taut... so anti-aging properties were important. I had purchased the Dior cushion foundation and since I had such great response with the Capture Totale/Dreamskin serum ingredient, I did not hesitate to purchase this. I am so happy to report that this foundation was a Godsend for what I needed. It kept my skin calm(amazingly, because my skin has been screaming in exclamation points for the last week), didnt accentuate any dry spots or (potential) wrinkles, was gentle, and just made me feel like I had normal skin on my face again. Yes my skin was still dry but this foundation did not let it get any worse than it already was all day, which is a feat unto itself. On normal skin I would imagine this would lend youthful glow and balance all day, which I am a huge fan of as it is. I found this foundation buildable and look very skin-like and real. If you have mature and or sensitive skin that needs a soothing foundation, I highly highly recommend this. « less

Like a tinted moisturizer, but better

I find this product does what it claims it will do. I do see skincare benefits along with the makeup coverage. I find it buildable, but not cakey. A small amount provides good coverage, without looking made up. I find it very natural. It seems to sink in and work with your own skin tone. It doesn't come off on your clothes when you get dressed. It doesn't get all over your hands and under your fingernails if you touch or scratch your face. You can apply it with your hands, a sponge or a brush. I've tried them all and prefer the brush, but it applies smoothly and evenly any way. I find it lasts all day, is not irritating or pore clogging and easily washes off. I apply it over a primer and unless I sit in a car or airplane for hours, I don't feel greasy or need to blot all day. The only downside is the high price. Urggh - $78 for one ounce. It's outrageous. But while I can afford it, I will buy it again. I'm on my first bottle. Maybe it will last a long, long time and then not feel so crazy expensive. I am using Peach in the cold months, but will probably need a darker color when I have a tan. It's maybe a tad light at first, but works so well with my skin tone, it blends in right away. « less

Expensive, odd colors and not really worth it

I know there are a lot of people here who love this foundation, but I think it's really kind of the emperor's new clothes of makeup. First, it's incredibly pricey. It's actually gone up maybe $10 since it hit the market a few years back. That's just too much at this price point for the quality of the product you get. it may have all sorts of great ingredients in it, but it doesn't blend that well and a lot of the colors are orange or pinkish on lighter skin tones. If you are between colors, you don't stand a chance of finding a good match, no matter how well you blend. I also didn't find this to be a "radiant' finish. I get the same "radiant" look by applying moisturizer before I start to put my makeup on. If you try that with this foundation, it simply rolls off in clumps as you try to apply it. .Not exactly ideal. Overall, it seems like there are much better choices out there for moisturizing foundations with a luminous finish. Almost any one except this. I would definitely pay a premium price (and often do) for cosmetics that deliver exceptional results. But this seems more hype than real life results. « less
