New Fave Foundation that's MILES above the rest!

PROS: 1--It is literally weightless--feels like there is nothing on your skin and looks like skin on your skin!! Beautiful!. 2--You can make it a light/medium coverage or medium/fuller coverage, easily. 3--It builds better than any other foundation I have ever used...ever. 4--It minimizes/blurs pores and does not look cakey on my combo skin, at all. 5-- It looks better as the day goes on...it just does. CONS: 1--I list this as a con because there are people sensitive to scents...it smells like Dior..expensive....this is not a con for me, but is for many. 2--Shade selection can be a little tricky. Is the selection huge, yes, but there is so much that it can be overwhelming, especially when ordering online. 3--Packaging is not the most luxurious for Dior and the squeeze bottle can be messy. 4--I find it only applies well with a brush or your fingers--DO NOT waste your product on a BB--it just doesn't do well. 5--It's a pricier product, but definitely not the most expensive foundation I own, so I'm okay with it. Overall, I absolutely LOVE this foundation and have worn it exclusively since I got it. I have gotten compliments on my skin every single day about how great it looks and I definitely attribute it to this foundation. My pores look smaller, and I'll even go as far to say almost non-existent. It is easy to apply and I am just in love with it. I was on the fence about ordering it on launch day, but I'm so glad I talked myself into it. I can say that I have never been a big Dior makeup fan (only the brow pencil!) because I find the shades don't compliment/match my skin, but this is a game changer for me. I feel it will do a fantastic job on mature skin and combo skin. I am not oily at all by the end the day and I lightly set it with powder (and I'm talking very lightly with a more luminous powder--new H.G. powder). Highly recommend getting a sample if you can OR just taking the risk and ordering it! Love it!

Dior Backstage Face & Body is a solid foundation! It’s longwearing thanks to its sweatproof and waterproof qualities. After a 12 hr day of wear time the foundation held up through the California heat, a stuffy body-heated busy mall, a beaming evening sunset, and an energetic concert. I’ve never worn a foundation that wore this well before! I tend to sweat easily and it was so nice to not have to worry about this foundation falling off my face or transferring everywhere. Even when I blotted myself it stayed put with my napkin looking clean and white. It truly stands the test of time and wears beautiful while doing so. My only dock is the coverage is not as instant and it really capitalized on its description of being “custom build”. This is my thinnest and most watery foundation hands down. And a single layer did nothing for me. I had to add 2 more really get medium-full coverage. Not terrible or a serious dock because this adds to flexibility of coverage needed on a day to day basis. However, I do worry if it’ll run out faster given how much of it you may need to use. The packaging is nice, luxury looking. You would think it’s frosted glass but it’s a frosty plastic all-squeeze body. Works well for dispensing the foundation and could be good for getting use of most of the product. Overall, I recommend for those who need a longwearing natural / radiant finish foundation.

So Disappointed

I bought this foundation in two shades, 1.5N and 2.0N. I am on the neutral side of NW15 and can wear both, but 2.0 is a bit more peachy. It wears like iron, so that’s a great thing, but that’s about the only good I can say. It’s full of cyclopentasiloxane and bad alcohol, they’re the 2nd and 3rd ingredients, so if you’re sensitive, have dry skin, or are prone to dehydration, stay away. It was easy to apply with a flat top brush or dense buffing brush, but did not work well with a beauty blender. It’s best to work in sections because once it sets, it SETS...it will not budge. It did not transfer, not even onto my phone! Honestly, it’s staying power makes me wish that the formula wasn’t so full of bad ingredients, because the wear time is amazing! The finish is matte with a touch of satin, but looked flat. I have normal-to-dry skin, and it parched me so badly, it took a week of reparative skincare to undo after testing the product for only 2 days. It didn’t matter how well I prepped, it still dried me out badly. It magnified every imperfection, even the tiniest and finest lines. Dry spots, pores, textural imperfections were all accentuated no matter what primer/skincare I used. There is NOTHING hydrating about this formula. I suggest getting to a counter to be matched, as the product darkens as it dries and the swatches online aren’t a good indicator of the final color. The packaging is also terribly messy...the second I opened mine, product came spurting out and the same happened every time I opened it afterward. I’m not giving it a poor review because it was a bad fit for my skin type, that is my fault for not reading ingredients...I’m giving it a poor rating because it’s cheaply formulated. With all the technology at Dior’s disposal, this could have been epic but instead it’s a very skin-unhealthy and unfriendly formula and it is NOT suitable for all skin types.

I started using this over the fenty pro filter matte foundation and have not switched back. It’s super easy to build but never feels heavy. It does have a scent to it but I love the smell. It will definitely last you all day and night without moving.

New HG

New HG foundation for me. I have been on an expedition for the last 4 years to find the right foundation. I have tried Koh gen do aqua and moisture foundations, Giorgio Armani luminous, too faced, nars, CYO, IT cosmetics, YSL, Natasha Denona trans matte, Laura Mercier, Makeup forever HD, Kay Von d, Naked Skin HD and the naked skin 1 and done, Lorac natural performance and my hg were IT your skin but better CC and the Lorac natural performance which I still didn’t love but just liked the best. I used to use China Doll by Napoleon Perdid before he discontinued his line and only sells in Australia now.. so I’ve been on a hunt ever since. I am very picky and a perfectionist about foundation and I was about to give up all together and just not wear foundation anymore till I tried this. This was the last foundation I was going to try. I have never tried Dior before. The fragrance is strong that’s the only con. I don’t mind fragrance as I love perfume but I would prefer it not be in my foundation as I worry it is bad for my skin. However besides that it covers beautifully. Looks natural and skin like. It’s very very pretty even up close my skin is pretty, with all the rest my makeup would look caked or just seep into my pores and make me looks scary I’m close. This one looks good no matter how close which is what I have been looking for. It last all day! I don’t like to Serb my makeup with powders because my skin is dry/normal and it makes me look too dry. But I set this one with powder just to see if it does well and it does and I still look pretty as long as I set it with my Mac fix spray then it looks the best that way. I put moisturizer on first before foundation and I also primer because it’s a crime not to prime IMO! I like to protect my pores that way. The color 2 warm olive is perfect for my hard to match olive skin tone. My ethnicity is Native American and Spaniard, so it’s extremely difficult for me to find a good match for my skin. This is my HG! I’m so happy. « less

Currently searching for products to use on my birthday and I need advice on primers, longwearing foundations, concealers and powders with no flashback. So far I’m interested in trying Charlotte Tilbury’s most recent foundation and the pressed powder. Any luxury recommendations that are worth the splurge and hold up on combo/oily skin? I struggle with a lot of shine mainly between my brows and around my nose :)

I have oily combination skin and am in need of a long wear foundation. Currently using Clinique stay matte and it just looks cakey to me and doesn’t last well. Opinions on any high end foundations for oily skin? Thinking about trying out Chanel.

I wouldn’t recommend touché d’eclait from YSL for oily skin (bad experience when I was younger). I wear hourglass foundation stick with a setting powder when my skin is good, but needs more than just concealer. When my skin is bag, I recommend Fenty. I haven’t heard good things about Chanel for oily skin, but I’ve heard really good things about the Dior foundation that just came out for face and body.

What are good foundations that are medium-full coverage, natural or matte finish, and not super cakey???
