Okay, but that's NOT Good Enough

I love several Dior products including their Addict Lip Glow, Airflash Spray Foundation, and their Radiance Booster Pen. I expected to love the sample I received in Ultradior 765. Unfortunately, I did not. 1) Plumping: This fails. I did not feel any plumping or see any evidence of plumping. Heck! Maybe my lips are already well hydrated. Stars: 1 of 5 2) Color: In the container, gorgeous! A medium reddish-pink to me. Sparkled beautifully in the bottle. Lightly applied on my lips, just the barest hint of a VERY sheer, darker pink. The microfine sparkle stood out as well as the oily shine. I expected more color on my lips compared to the container. Alert: Careful of the glitter that can spread to the rest of your face. Stars: 2 out of 5 3) Fragrance: There is some listed in the ingredients, but it's probably there just to cover up the otherwise normal chemical smell of the ingredients. It works well in that you don't really smell much of anything. I like that, but I prefer scented glosses. Stars: 4 out of 5 4) Flavor: I cannot detect any flavor when I touch the gloss with my tongue, but I do feel the gloss which makes my tongue feel strange. Hmmm. Stars: 3 out of 5 5) Texture: I use a light hand when applying gloss. There is just enough stickiness to stay in place while on the lips, but not enough to stay there if you eat or drink. My hair always gets caught in it, however, I can pull my hair off my lips without streaking the gloss itself. I felt as if I could feel the sparkles on my lips when rubbing them together. I wasn't expecting that. Otherwise, it does keep my lips moisturized while on. Stars: 2 out of 5 6) Lasting Ability: The gloss does not stain my lips and must be reapplied after eating or drinking. It lasts about three hours on me before I feel like I need to reapply. That's just too short of a time. Stars: 2 out of 5 OVERALL: This is an average gloss. Nothing really stands out about it which is for me, both good and bad. The major problem that I have is that I wouldn't pay so much for this product when I can get other items that I prefer (scent, color) and that perform better (plumping, lasting ability) at a lower price. These Are Ultra-Gloss

Dior Addict Ultra-Gloss is a lip plumper and a gloss all in one. Its is light weight and is not sticky, comfortable you almost forget it's there. I have never been a fan of lip gloss but this brand has truly changed my attitude towards lip glosses. In this photo I am ONLY using #765 SHOCK ULTRADIOR, it has a lot of shine and a great color. Their lipsticks 'Couture Color Rouge Dior' and Addict' Hydra-Gel Core Mirror Shine lipsticks are also great and apply just a bit of 'Addict' Ultra-Gloss on top is also perfect. Dior Rouge Contour Lip Liners are also great with this. In the second photo i have the lipliner over my lips. The lightest palest nude color is GREGE, bright warm pink is BOISE DE ROSE, HOLIDAY RED is very nice and THRILLING PLUM is more like a deep wine color. All photos were done in natural light so I hope this makes it easy to choose. « less

Best lip gloss I've ever used! I have very dry lips after using Accutane as a teen, and it's nearly impossible to find products to impart moisture and hydration, not just sheen. This is absolutely worth a try if that sounds like you! For comparison, I've used smashbox and YSL gloss in the past, and they were good for me, but this one goes above and beyond those! I also like Fresh Sugar lip balms, but they do not have the same staying power. It of course will need reapplication if you have something to eat or drink (what product doesn't...) but if you don't mess with it, it provides a great, lasting hydration and doesn't dry up on your lips. I wear it alone or over Clinique lipstick, and it's lovely. I have tried the Nude shade, great sheer pink.

Gorgeous colors!

I've been on the search to find the perfect pop of color for a long time. I really don't like lipstick- so I've been sticking to glosses. I had my heart set on finding the perfect orangey-red to compliment my dark olive skin. Maybe I'm just not bold enough to wear a bright red, because I haven't liked anything yet. However, I stumbled upon the Dior section and fell in love with these glosses. The colors are all so pretty and are a happy medium for someone like me. They're more pigmented than the average gloss so I get a nice pop of color, but it's still subtle. I purchased Everdior, which has pretty orange undertones to flatter my skin color. It's the perfect punch of color for me. The shine also makes my lips look juicy and full! This is my new go-to gloss.

My new favorite lip glosses

I really love the newly reformulated Dior Addict Ultra-Glosses. They are very hydrating without being sticky. They are supposed to be plumping, but they do not give any tingling sensation. There is also no scent that I could tell. Just a note, there are 3 different types of formulas for these glosses: Sparkling, Iridescent, and Sheer. The Sparkling are the most glittery, followed by the Iridescent, and then the Sheer. The Sparkling formula is actually my favorite, because the large glitter particles actually make my lips appear super wet and glossy, as opposed to glittery. I've included a few swatches to show the different formulas and some of the shades. Diorosphere (Sparkling) is my favorite, it's a beautiful wearable purple berry, though the pic online shows it as a dark purple. « less
