Sexy in a stick - converted me from glittery gloss

I took part in a school exchange in Rome, Italy when I was 15. I was coming into my own and purchased my first lip gloss from a MAC boutique. After that, I began obsessively acquiring new glosses in every sparkly, color-saturated shade. My lips are my best feature and I was always trying desperately to call attention to them.I've also been addicted to lip balm since I was 12 or maybe younger. Lip balms are like the elusive holy grail of beauty where I was always seeking out a superior formula (hemp seed oil is preferred). When I saw this product in store, I was instantly intrigued. I knew that there had to be claims accompanying the $30 price tag, but I was very dismissive having been disappointed so many times before. Having tried on other lip colors at the time, it was difficult to assess the claims of color-matching but I was impressed by the thick and smooth texture and I was seduced by the packaging and concept so I purchased it. In this recession, I think that many of us are looking for ways to feel luxurious and treat ourselves without spending on an extravagant new bag or shoes. The next day, I anxiously applied the lip glow to bare, dry lips and waited in natural sunlight to witness the results. Within a few minutes, the color develops so subtly that you cannot perceive the change but then all of a sudden, a rich, dimensional, alluring quality has been added to my lips in an almost surreal manner. My lips are transformed from wrinkled and chalky to ripe, luscious looking lips. The best part is that the gentle sheen and sheer color appear as though it is my lips that are gorgeous and not the Dior.It wasn't until a night on the town that I realized the full power of the lip glow (I was also wearing the cheek glow by Dior, base, black eyeliner and mascara). Remember that I have been wearing thick, obvious glosses for the past 10+ years and so my experiences with men in bars and night clubs are based on this presentation. Almost like a fairy-tale, the difference in my level of attraction was palpable. Guys that I had known for years kept pouring on the compliments and more guys who weren't in my circle approached me than ever before. My love-life improved in quantity but more importantly in quality. A higher caliber of man was suddenly interested.I suppose that I no longer looked desperate but more confident and approachable. My beauty was visible and not my makeup. If you have the means, I highly suggest also picking up the cheek glow blush. It has the same oo-la-la effect in a natural looking way. This is the ultimate 'guy-hot' look so wear it with confidence because you will break hearts. Less

I keep coming back...

I first bought this about two years ago, mainly because I was looking for a balm and loved the packaging this was in. I loved this for two reasons--the feel, and the color. This balm goes on easily and feels creamy and moisturizing on your lips (it's not overly thick or heavy though). Also, I have yellow undertones (I'm asian) and can get pretty tan during the summer so I always have a hard time finding the right pink for my skintone. Most pinks I try are either way too pink and clash with my skin, or too light and appear chalky or disappear completely on my already-pigmented lips. Since this, as they say, "enhances your natural lip color," I find that it turns my lips into the absolute perfect shade of pink. It looks natural, flirty, and perfect for summer. Also, once it wears off it leaves a pretty pink stain behind that I love. All that said, It's not long-lasting by any means so I reapply it often. I went through the entire tube very quickly and because of that (and its price tag) started using other products. Nothing ever compared to this though, and I found myself buying it again a few months later. Then it would run out, I'd be hesitant to buy it again, and go through the same cycle.Bottom line: It's pricey and gets used up quickly. But it keeps my lips moisturized and gives them the perfect pink I've yet to find from any other product. Took me a while to realize it, but I absolutely love this product. « less

great for dry lips

I can't believe how much I love this. I have pink and lilac and they are both so pretty. My lips have been really dry this winter so I have been reaching for balms over glosses a lot more. This balm really lasts and doesn't look cakey or clumpy on your lips. Gorgeous sheer color and shiny! I am a lip gloss junkie but haven't reached for a single gloss since getting this months ago. After I discovered this I tried a few other similar high end balms but none of them compared and I ended up returning them all and instead just purchased another tube of this. The consistency is perfect: it's waxy enough to give a nice moist feeling on your lips AND to have some nice staying power too. It's definitely pricy and I wouldn't pay that price for just a lip balm. But I really love the color and my lips have been in much better condition since using it so it is worth it to me. It is the perfect compliment to glowy skin. Less

really boosts your lip colour!

i got this as a gift last year, but i never used it as it only looks like a simple sheer lip balm so i didn't think there was anything special about it. but it's actually really good!my lips are naturally quite pigmented in colour, and they are like a medium-dark pink colour. but when i put it on it instantly makes them look SO much more vibrant, like a really bright pink. i don't even know how. but my friends also noticed the change in colour as well. it looked like i was wearing lipstick!the consistency is also really good, as it feels kind of like a lip gloss but not too thick or sticky at all. it definitely is very moisturizing and does stay on for a long time. to compare, it is more moisturizing and thicker than the chubby stick by clinique. however, i would probably not buy another one as it is quite expensive for a balm… but if it goes on sale or something i would definitely recommend! Less

Nope

So I really wanted to like this but I've found no pro in this product. It doesn't apply evenly, and I'll get balls of pigment on my lips that make it look flakey. This also somehow clings to dry patches and I have barely any. It isn't very hydrating, not that I purchased it because I thought it would be. Lastly the packaging, I purchased this online and was expecting somewhat luxurious feeling packaging and I was kinda disappointed at how light weight and plasticy it was. Maybe I had a bad experience because I purchased a matte shade, but for the price point it shouldn't have mattered.

I need help finding a good everyday lip.. I have never really done anything with my lips unless I wear a bold lipstick, but I’ve been very self conscious about my no bold lipstick lips lately. I’ve been just wearing chapstick especially because of it being winter time. But I think I want a nude lipstick that isn’t matte that will last a long time. I usually wear a full face of makeup and the just chapstick needs to go lol

I love the door lip glow, especially in the winter time. I usual wear it over a favorite lip liner. I also enjoy using kkw cream lipsticks in the shades 2 and 3. I usual have to reapply after a few hours, but I don’t mind.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a lip product that is pink to nude? I don’t wear many lip products but I want one that looks natural, but still a nice color. Any recommendations? I have light to medium skin color.

If your not a lip junky this is a good product for you. It’s always good to have a few high end products in my opinion. I love the door nail glow as well. If your looking into more of a lipstick, try MAC. MAC lipstick selection is amazing. You can find a color that matches perfect with your skin tone. That is the secret to finding the perfect pink to nude your looking for. Have fun and let me know what you find!
