If you have any flaws - pass! Does not cover!!

I really wanted to like this since it didn’t have any of the ingredients I am allergic to in it. I was color matched on the area between my chin and neck and the color looked good. The lady even applied it to part of my face and it seemed to be awesome and was going to work. However, when I went to apply it myself I needed to use so much product to cover a couple acne areas that are almost gone and it still didn’t cover them. I usually put foundation on the back of my hand and then apply it to my face. You can’t do that with this one because after your first initial pickup and go back to get more, it would be dry already. I was told this was good coverage and would cover anything I wanted covered but that was far from the truth. Just to get an even light coverage I had to use so much product there was no way this would last even a month. I used both a wet blender and a dry blender to apply. They dry blender did nothing because it either just soaked up the makeup or it had already dried by the time I dipped it on the back of my hand and moved to put on my face. I ended up using another foundation over it, plus more concealer and it still was way too light of a coverage. I was looking for a new foundation that would stay on my nose and blend well on my nose and not show ever pore I have even with using several different primers. In store this looked great but when I went to use it I put it on my nose without primer there and it looked fine. 5 minutes later it looked like I hadn’t even done my nose yet. So I added more right before I was going to set it. Still it disappeared on my nose after using both a setting powder and a spray, which was also recommended. I have yet to find a primer and foundation that will stay in place on my nose and not put a spotlight on my pores and my rosacea. It made me look like Rudolph. The price is too expensive for product that didn’t work and I used it with cover fx primer and both the setting powder and spray each time. Returning soon! Less

First let me start off be emphasizing that my T zone is so unbelievably oily that I felt like giving up on foundation all together. I was ready to accept the fact that foundation just didn't belong on my skin because after a few hours it would break apart in a way that is so obvious, completely slide off my nose and ruin my entire look (I'm looking at you, Nars Radiant Longwear). I've tried so many different foundations and have been on the quest for a foundation that was yellow toned enough for my fair/light yellow skin tone AND wouldn't break apart horribly on my T zone and I think that this foundation is finally THE ONE. It is definitely NOT full coverage so if that's what you're looking for, stay away. I think it looks beautiful on my skin and wears beautifully. It doesn't settle into my fine lines on my forehead at all! At the risk of sounding like I'm bragging, my skin is practically perfect besides slight redness on my cheeks and my oily T zone so it still shows off my nice skin through the foundation and looks pretty natural while still covering my redness. It does start to fade around my chin after 6-7 hours (please keep in mind that I'm INCREDIBLY oily) but since it's not full coverage it doesn't look bad and I do not mind it at all. I hated the packaging at first because it's plastic with a needle nose tip but it's actually really easy to throw in my purse and keep with me for a touch up later on. When I do touch up my problem areas it actually blends in with the rest of my makeup unlike other foundations that literally will not stick on my face while trying to do a touch up. I hadn't heard about this until I saw it at the store and I'm so glad I decided to take a risk and buy it. I cannot see myself trying another foundation; I honestly feel like this is my ride or die. Natural looking, great color match, wears nicely, doesn't emphasize fine lines. Please give this a try, you won't be disappointed! Less

Definitely in my top 5 Faves

This has a great natural matte finish. Definitely the best color match I've ever had. No need to customize. Lasts my entire 16 hour typical workday, commuting by bus for 3 hrs there and back. I should mention I have oily tzone so I usually use a primer and with a "no color" powder (sephora doesn't sell).Sometimes I use my UD All nighter spray. But I've worn this without primer/spray for about 7 hours and got slightly more oily than usual but blotting makes it look freshly applied. I prefer with primer for long days. Might be too matte for really dry skin but doesn't feel tight. It doesn't oxidize or settle in my smile lines. I think it's an everyday Medium coverage foundation but you can build it up to full. It doesn't have that Estee Lauder DW bam in your face coverage.Looks like my skin but has a definite blurring effect at least in person I don't really do selfies. You'll get lighter but still noticeable coverage with a beauty blender. It builds up faster to full coverage with a brush but doesn't feel heavy either way. I am definitely going to repurchase because it may not be hyped up like other brands but it's a dang good foundation. The only con is the squeeze bottle applicator. You do get slightly more than the typical 1oz product.I figure that's probably to make up for the product you can't get out once you get to the bottom because of the squeeze bottle. I don't know why they did that but I'm not taking off a star because the product is good. Their shade range is great and they have natural undertones unlike Estee Lauder DW. We don't like wasting a smidge of a $44 foundation. « less

My new go to foundation!

I use to use the Tarte Shapetape foundation, and I honestly did not like it that much. I have also used other long lasting, full coverage matte foundations in the past that just seemed unnatural looking, heavy, and drying as well.I found out about this from a Youtube review, and so far, I love it! It looks pretty natural for such a full coverage foundation, and truly has lasting power! I have yet to wear it for a full work day when I have no time to touch up, so that will be the true test. I work for a publisher, so if it can hold up when my work gets stressful, I will never go back to another foundation! It does not seem to give any weird texture over my pores, but I do use a primer. I have not noticed any issues with fading, and only experience some slight separation around my nose after hours of wear and rubbing (I have a cold). It does seems to crease a bit in my smile lines, but that is minimized when I don't smile while it is still setting. I believe if I set it with a bit of powder in these areas, that it would not be an issue at all.The neutral shade does show a bit pink on me, so I may get the warm tone instead, G10.It is somewhat easy to blend, but it does set fast, so I recommend working in areas rather than applying to the entire face all at once. I also recommend making sure your skin is cleansed, exfoliated, and well moisturized as well as primed before application. It will make the foundation look more skin like, and help it apply more easily. I use the Tarte Shapetape concealer with this, and they are working together nicely.I find no need to use a setting powder or spray at the moment with this foundation, although I am sure a setting spray would be the better choice out of the two if you have combination or dry skin like me. « less

Lightweight, breathable full coverage

If you are looking for full coverage with a light feel, this is a great foundation. I received a complimentary bottle of this foundation for testing purposes, and this is an honest description of my experience. The shade I received was slightly too light for me, which just goes to show the range of these colors, as I have fair skin and often use the lightest shade in other foundations. I used it a few times before I started getting summer sun, and then I transitioned to using it as an undereye concealer and for contouring. I always have dark circles - whether from lack of sleep or allergies - and this is the first foundation I have used that truly covered them. I set it with the Cover FX perfect setting powder, which kept my skin matte and foundation in place in my t-zone, but made the skin under my eyes look a little dry. I have combination skin, and often have oiliness in my t-zone an on my chin, and this powder over the foundation did a great job of holding on to it in southern, summer heat and humidity. I have very sensitive skin, and this foundation really works with it. I usually stick with more sheer foundations because of my skin, but this did not feel heavy or clog my pores (currently: Hello Oxygen Wow). I look forward to trying this product in the right shade - this is a great foundation for days when you need full coverage, but may be out and about and need something to stay on all day. If using this in addition to other products, such as different foundations, make sure the textures work together. This does not necessarily leave a matte texture, but doesn't work well with foundations that are intended to leave you looking dewy. Bottom line: This product is not cheap, but it is very effective!!

Any recommendations for a long lasting medium/full coverage foundation that doesn’t rub off when touched and has (mostly) clean ingredients? I have acne-prone combination skin and I can’t seem to find something that my skin consistently agrees with

Even through I use mattifying foundations I still get oily after a couple of hours until I started setting my face with loose powder before hand and then apply my foundation, it really helps with creasing. Cover FX is a clean product and great for oily skin.
