CombinationCombination Skin
I’ve been having an issue finding a full coverage foundation and setting powder combo that doesn’t feel as though all the moisture is being sucked out of my skin. I cleanse and moisturize, prime with green color correcting primer , and use a sponge for foundation. I like full coverage because of the rosacea, and I like a matte finish but after applying powder, I crease, and crack, and overall feel super dry. I’m over 40, have fine lines to boot. Any suggestions?

Using a hydrating setting spray on top of your makeup might help! I use this before and after makeup and it helps tremendously with dryness.

What is a good foundation that doesn’t cake, that isn’t heavy, and doesn’t stick to my imperfections or dry skin? I’ve tried, Maybelline, elf, the brand from the dollar store & one my sister-in-law gave me.The dollar store work well also came with a colored primer, but it made me break out. Any recommendations like that? I’m new to make up. So any info helps. At this Moment I’m just using primer & color corrector due to redness & dark circles.

I have dry skin and love Too Faced! The real trick with dry skin is to have a solid skin care routine. I exfoliate every night after my cleanser and to get rid of flaky skin. After toner and eye cream, I use a hydration oil and then a moisturizer. Having a great skin regimen will improve just about any makeup products you use, so I would start there!

@Jaime Lynn I use garnier micellar water to remove makeup because it’s real gentle and gets everything, a toner, exfoliating scrub, eye cream, a hydrating serum, a hyaluronic cream, and then a moisturizer. I’ve always used skin care products, but I just recently got serious with it and did some research. I found the correct order to do your routine in to get the most out of all your products. Now I have a nighttime and a morning routine. It’s definitely made a difference in my skin!

anyone know a good color corrector? i bought Pacifica’s color correcting palette but when I blended it, the product would disappear and leave my skin flaky. i might buy the LA girl ones, but I need too many colors and I’m afraid the price will be too high.

I have really red cheeks and nose area, this stuff CHANGED MY LIFE. It completely got rid of all of my discoloration. I couldn’t even believe how well it worked, Dr Jart also has a face lotion as well that works wonders if you want a moisturizer. This whole line is amazing. 5/5 recommend

I really like the nudes in this palette. They have a lot of pigment but there is a decent amount of fallout if that is a problem for you.

I can’t cover my dark circles well enough :( I use a peach color corrector and urban decay concealer and tarte tinted moisturizer because I hate heavy coverage foundation which usually makes me break out and feels too thick. Are there any tricks or better products out there??

i’ve found this mask to be great for hyperpigmentation and closed comedones: super cheap yet super effective. just be careful since you have dry skin, do a patch test first and maybe only put it on the scars. and wear sunscreen after using!

Under eye bags I have pretty severe under eye bags. They are genetic and stick around even if I’ve had more than enough hydration, nutrition, and sleep. I’ve watched several tutorials on how to hide them but can’t really master it. Currently use the shape tape concealer by Tarte and color correction palette by Nyx. Any advice?

I feel your pain, but get some tea bags, put them in your freezer for thirty minutes, and put them on your eyes for fifteen. That might help.

If you’re looking for color, the new Norvina palettes for ABH are lovely. Three volumes so it covers most of the color spectrum, and pressed pigments so the color payoff is lovely. A bit pricy, but you get a lot of shadows and the pans are quite large. I also appreciate the enormous high quality mirror included inside for those days you are getting ready on the fly.

What’s the best lip product (balm, lipstick) that’s natural and hydrating? It doesn’t have to be long lasting, something like a sheer/slight tint to add color to your lips so you don’t look like a ghost! Thank you!
