not smudging

i've been hooked on clinique bottom lash mascara for the past five years because i love how it darkens, lengthens, and separates my very thin, blonde bottom lashes that always clump and smudge with any other mascara on them

doesn't flake or smudge

staying power

it's super long wearing formula stays on all day and night, won't smudge, won't clump, and it's waterproof

- Sephora User

now i'm so happy this coats every bottom lash and stays perfect all day

no clumps

this stuff sticks to your lashes all day long and even when i take a small nap, this stuff stays

- Sephora User

this mascara really does lengthen my lower lashes nicely without looking like overdone spider lashes

- Sephora User

overall, this mascara is great; good coverage, adds length and volume, and the smaller size wand makes application of mascara much easier

- Clinique User

i am chinese and my eyelashes are non-existence and short, so not only this mascara doesn't give me raccoon eyes, it gives me volumizing long under-eye lashes

- Sephora User

the tiny little brush in clinique bottom lash mascara not only lets me apply it to the upper lashes, since it is designed for lower lashes, it is more smudge & water proof than any mascara out there

- Macy's User

this and the upper lash waterproof mascara are must haves

- Clinique User

i have naturally long curly lashes and this is the first mascara that has excellent coverage, dries quickly and doesn't run if i perspire on my face while working my 12 hour nursing shifts

- Dillard's User

it defines, lengthens, volumizes, and lifts, and when you want to take it off, you just have to rinse your eyes with warm water, and gently rub your lashes

- Sephora User

i even used it on my upper lashes and every corner lash was evenly coated with mascara and i got a very natural look

- Sephora User

i bought this for a more natural lower lash look and i love it

Handy size and quality product

I'm very fussy with mascara. I want to enhance my naturally long lashes but don't want huge fake looking lashes or gloppy tarantula look. I tried this on my bottom lashes and decided to try it on my top lashes. It's now my favorite mascara. It doesn't irritate my sensitive eyes and it stays on all day without problem and does not smear or flake off. Even at a theatre performance that left me in tears, this stuff still stayed on. To remove I use some warm water on a facecloth and it loosens the mascara so it kind of slides off. Not quite like the slide off of a 'lash tubes' type mascara but it doesn't dissolve like other mascaras I'm used to. If I'm in a hurry, I'll use a bit of baby shampoo (recommended by eye doctor as eye makeup remover) and it's gone in a flash. The product comes in a small container that I find perfect for carrying in my small handbag. The tiny brush makes it really easy to reach all areas of my lashes and not get it on my lids or smudge it while wet. It works well in that you can put it on for a natural look or you can build it up for a more dramatic look but without it getting clumpy looking. I'm on my second purchase and will definitely buy again. I do keep trying new mascaras to see what they're like but so far I keep coming back to this one.

love love love

Love it. I actually use this on my upper lashes, especially on really humid days, or when I'm going to a big event. My eyelashes are super curly, so I often struggle to apply mascara at the very root of my eyelashes w/out getting it all over my eyelids. This tiny brush works perfectly! And long-lasting, too... the "tube technology" formula hasn't ever smeared on me yet, and I live in a humid climate and have oily skin and eyelids. I've slept in it a few times (wouldn't recommend), and no raccoon eyes!A few caveats: don't try to apply multiple coats. I made that mistake once, and the tube formula made my lashes super clumpy and spidery and gross. Lesson learned. Also, removing this at night is more of a pain in the butt than my other mascaras... you really do only need warm water to get it off my eyelashes, but the little tubes ended up all over my face. Probably just need more rinsing.Bottom line: this is my go-to mascara for big events. I'll be wearing it at my wedding this fall! « less

Nice idea, but...

I am a committed user of Clinique High Impact mascara, so I was very excited to see this product and thought it was a very clever idea. But, after trying it, I have to say that, in my opinion, it performs no better than applying mascara with a regular wand. I did not find that it grabs any more lashes or performs any differently. I will say that it has staying power and doesn't smudge. But, the biggest dealbreaker for me is that it does not wash off well. I don't know what they're talking about when they say it comes off with just warm water. I wash with soap and water and while the mascara on the top lashes (High Impact) comes off completely, the mascara on the bottom lashes (using Bottom Lash mascara) doesn't. After washing there is still residual mascara on the lower lashes, some of which actually clumps a few lashes together and you have to either pluck it off or 'scrub' the lower lashline with a Q-tip dipped in makeup remover to get it off. I have a fast, minimal makeup routine and this ended up being time-consuming and a hassle. So I've stopped using it and will pass it along to one of my girlfriends who, hopefully, might have better luck with it.

I have sparse, light-brown/blonde, but long, eyelashes, so I'm a big mascara junkie. This is my new absolute FAVORITE mascara for the bottom lashes... The first one I've found that actually does the trick. Here are a few things I like about it: 1) Color options. Because I'm pale and have such light-colored hair hair and lashes, skipping mascara on my bottom lashes makes my face looked washed out, while wearing black mascara looks unnatural. I love that this comes in a brown color that looks as if I'm not even wearing mascara (but SO much better than me not wearing mascara). 2) Doesn't flake A lot of popular popular mascaras (Benefit's They're Real, Lancome Hypnose, Dior Diorshow, most drugstore mascaras, to name a few) have a tar-like consistency that looks REALLY spidery on my sparse lashes. What's more, it only takes a few hours before it all ends up under my eyes. As I said before, I have pale skin so flaking and any darkness under my eyes is a big problem for me. The formula in this mascara is more liquid-y than the aforementioned mascaras, but it's quick-drying and because of the length of the brush it's near impossible to smear this under your eyes. Which leads me to my next point... 3) Brush size Definitely the trademark feature of this product. The brush is small enough to coat every individual lash without any smudges or product buildup. It also makes the "brush wiggle" move a lot easier and neater! 4) Lightweight I know that some people like the false lashes look, but I like to save the dram for my top lashes. I like that the formula is thin enough to prevent a lot of build up on the bottom lashes or weigh them down. Also, heavier, thicker mascaras tend to irritate the skin around my eyes and sometimes cause them to fall out. Haven't experienced that with this product :) 5) Long-lasting, but only when you need it to be So far this product doesn't seem to fade as the day goes on, but it was easy for me to remove this with just a bit of hot water and/or makeup remover. Overall, an A+ product that gives a lot of precise detail. Not for you if you're looking for a dramatic look, but IMO that's not meant for your bottom lashes anyway.

First off, I always wear waterproof for watery eye issues, so I never really bought this for the smudge proof qualities (though now I LOVE that as well!) I bought it for the tiny little brush in hopes it would reach all my little corner lashes and get the bottoms coated without getting mascara everywhere. This does the job! Now I will say it took a couple uses to get used to using such a tiny wand, but once you get it, you wont go back, I promise! It stays on all day, until I take it off with remover, no flaking (a problem I've come across plenty) no smearing, no clumping. How did I go so long with out this???
