Anyone else had the struggle of your face breaking out after starting to use a Clarisonic brush (or face brush in general)??

The Clarisonic brush is very harsh on the skin as most mechanical exfoliates are. Using brushes like the Clarisonic brush may push the contents of clogged pores deeper into the skin. Try a chemical exfoliant, common ones are alpha hydroxy acid, salicylic acid, and glycolic acid. Chemical exfoliants are used to dissolve dead skin cells. This may be helpful for acne prone skin as dead skin cells are sometimes the source of clogged pores.
It’s so good! For the first week or two you may have breakouts because the brush really gets all the dirt and grime out of your pores, but after the two months of using it for me, I LOVE IT! It improves the texture and smoothness of your skin. I would recommend!

Oily Skin
Okay so my skin has always been pretty normal / occasional dry patches here and there but recently it’s been full on oily! Does anyone know what could have caused that & if it’s a reason to worry? I’ve started using my Clarisonic regularly so maybe it’s over cleaning my skin & causing it to produce more oils?

Yes, you could be over cleansing your skin now especially using a Clarisonic. When you over cleanse your skin it compromises your skin barrier, which can cause you to produce more oil because your skin thinks it’s dehydrated. Try cleansing only once a day, usually at night. In the mornings I rinse my face with warm water and then apply my skincare regimen and I fully cleanse at night with a cleanser and then follow that with my regimen. I have oily skin and doing this has greatly reduced my oil production! I’ve noticed a difference in only about a week. Hope this helps!
