So I’ve been using the Cetaphil @Gentle Skin Cleanser for about a year now and it’s been great at helping with basic white heads. However, in a few weeks, my skin will start breaking out in cystic acne (I was taking a medication which had the side effect of helping with my cystic acne and I’m no longer taking it). I don’t think the face wash I’m currently using will be much help with that type of acne. So any recommendations on a good face wash?

Hey there! I have similar acne problems as you, and I realised basic facial cleansers just didn’t cut it for me. One product that’s really helped clear up my skin is the Neutrogena Deep Clean Invigorating Scrub. I use it as a daily cleanser (sometimes twice a day) and it’s a staple in my skin care routine. I also like to use a lotion on my face so I’m not constantly stripping my skin and leaving it try. I recommend the Clinique moisture surge. It’s really good. Hope this helps!

What’s the best cleanser ? Can be high end or drugstore , I have acne prone skin! I’ve been using cetaphil but found it it’s not the best on your skin and my skin has been worse since using.

Hello! I’ve struggled with acne since I was 12 and it continues to be painful and unsightly at 21. I’ve used oral medication and topical creams and nothing works. I currently use Cetaphil to wash my face, Thayers witch hazel toner, Neutrogena eye cream, and the Cetaphil moisturizer during the day. At night, I use the same as above but the Cerave moisturizer and Watermelon Illuminator Overnight Serum by HanHoo. I also take the Olly, Undeniable Beauty vitamin. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated. ☺️

i use lush’s fresh farmacy face cleansing bar, and then i use the mario badescu’s aloe vera toner and the oil free neutrogena grapefruit lotion and then the mario badescu’s rose water spray. it can be a little expensive but i’ve honestly noticed such a big change. investing in good skin care was the BEST thing i ever did!

Best night time moisturizer? I have really dry skin and I have tried so many moisturizers including vanicream, cetaphil, cerave, & more. I found cerave for the daytime with SPF however it’s $17 and comes in a small bottle. Any suggestions that are non sticky?

Is Cetaphil really that good for an affordable skincare brand? I see it all the time in CVS and hear nothing but great stuff, but I’m kinda hesitant since I have oily, sensitive, (sorta) acne prone skin.

No I hate cetaphil, has always made my skin worse and actually contains ingredients that make acne worse. A much better affordable line is Cera Ve. It doesn’t leave the weird film on your skin like cetaphil, but it also doesn’t strip you or irritate/dry skin out!

Personally no I don’t like that brand. It contains lots of harsh chemicals and I have sensitive skin, didnt make much of a difference to clear up any break outs and in fact made my skin feel more dry. Just bc it’s “dermatologist recommended” doesn’t mean it works for everyone, or will work period lol.

What’s the deal with Cetaphil VS. CeraVe? I often get recommendations for both, so I’m wondering if there truly is one that’s “best?” For reference I have oily skin and large pores, and am acne prone.

I haven’t tried using cerave but one of my staples for my skin care is the oil absorbing moisturizer. I have oily skin and this has been really helpful for me. This helps with acne as well. I’m not sure if the formula still has spf in it. I’ve used one version with spf and one without it. But it’s definitely worth trying. Hope this helps!

does anyone have any face cleanser recommendations for combination skin? i was using the cetaphil gentle cleanser for both face and body for all skin types and my skin was going well, but then i switched to cetaphil daily facial cleanser for normal to oily skin and now i have much more acne than before. i remember using some cerave pro foamy facial cleanser for oily skin and it worked very well but my skin was relying on moisturizer as it made it so dry. any recommendations would be appreciated!

Cerave Foaming Facial Cleanser. Normal to oily formula since you have combo skin. But, in your case the hydrating may work well. It is for normal to dry skin.

It all depends on your skin type. If you have oily/combo skin I’d definitely go for CeraVe. If your face is dry, go for Cetaphil!

So, long story time: About a year ago I was using the Cetaphil gentle face wash and heard good reviews about the Cetaphil bar soap and started using that instead. All of a sudden I got terrible acne and it has not stopped since. I had PERFECT skin before I tried that with only the occasional hormonal breakout (being a girl sucks , ladies). I do not know what skincare products are rhe best. I’ve been on antibiotics (worked great but interferes with my other medications), I’ve been on proactiv for 4 months and haven’t seen a difference at all, and I’ve tried changing my diet (took a food sensitivity test as well) and nothing is working. Has anyone tried this skincare routine?? If so, how is it?

I haven’t tried those products, but I got terrible acne when I moved to Florida last year after having pretty decent breakout free skin throughout my life. A doctor recommended Cetaphil, so I used it religiously for months and saw no change - if anything it got worse even after I moved back home to Ohio thinking it’d get better in the climate my body was used to. So I started looking for new products and I heard a lot of great reviews about Korean skincare brands. I picked up all my products at TJ Maxx for great prices, and since switching to them about a month ago I’ve noticed a HUGE difference. My skin is so much more clear and I haven’t had but maybe 2 bad pimples. I am currently using JJ Young Pore Cooling cleanser, Frudia Toner and Brightening serum, I Dew Care spot treatment, and Dewytree Miracle Clear Serum, as well as a moisturizer from I think a company in New Zealand. If you google Korean Skincare, you’ll find a ton of great products and I’m beginning to think they’re the holy grail lol. If you do purchase from TJ Maxx or Marshall’s, just be sure to double check the expiration date. After it was all said and done, I think I’ve purchased about 7-8 products for around $50 total.

hi, so i have extremely dry and sensitive skin but i also have acne and get giant cystic pimples. the thing is though that brands that target acne only make products that are for oily skin!! they dry out my already dry skin! i currently use cetaphil cleanser and want to stick to it but does anyone know any non alcoholic toners or MOISTURIZING products that work well to get rid of acne??

a little pricey but if you’re looking for a gentle chemical exfoliator the farmacy honeymoon glow is the one. you put it on at night and it will tingle for the first hour but its great, and physical exfoliators are a no go! if you’re using one with little beads throw it out! they create microtears which allow bacteria to get into them and cause acne. a cheaper alternative is the glycolic acid toner and the aha peeling mask, both from the ordinary.

3 day difference...3 days ago I stopped using the Biore face wash tagged, as well as only Tarte Shape Tape concealer on my spots (practically on my entire face). I switched to the Cetaphil Daily Cleanser as well as E.l.fs Acne Fighting Foundation, my skin feels much cleaner and is visibly brighter and less oily. Not to mention my breakouts have begun to calm down! Acne has been a huge insecurity for me since I can remember, these are the first products I’ve ever used that have showed progress. I would highly recommend these products!!!

SOS Hi! As I’m sure a lot of you are experiencing due to the changing season, my nose has been getting really dry and flaky! I use the cetaphil moisturizer but it isn’t helping as much as I need it to, and I need my nose to stop looking crusty asap. Any recommendations?

Natural Shea butter before bed. I melt down some Shea butter and I add in some vitamin c to make it easier to spread and gives a little extra glow. Plus it doesn’t clog my pores. Hope this helps! I got a tub on amazon for like $12 and it’s lasted like 3 years.

Acne solutions needed First of all, excuse the look on my face lol. I have oily/combination skin, with the oil mainly in my t-zone. The pores on my nose, especially in the crevices on the sides of my nostrils, get congested with blackheads. Most of my acne is on my chin and around my mouth, and some in the eyebrow area. I’ve been struggling with it for years! Any suggestions welcome. Skincare routine: Cetaphil daily facial cleanser for normal to oily skin Thayers toner Belief aquabomb moisturizer

The Curology acne set has cleared my skin since the day I started it. You take an online quiz about your skin concerns and they formulate your customized treatment. You can try a trial size to start off with and only pay for shipping. I’ve been using it for 6 months now and haven’t had a pimple since 😁
