Perfect for Oily Skin/ My skin but BETTER

I have oily skin and live in a humid climate, so that usually makes for a slip and slide on my face whenever I wear makeup. It doesn't make my makeup look cakey, it just mattifies my skin enough so that it stays glowy and dewy without the need for the constant use of blotting papers throughout the day. This paired with the Sigma spotlight duster have saved my face from looking like and oil spill. I only need to swipe my brush a few times and its more than enough! The compact is a nice size, good for travel but it is quite thick. It comes with a thin and clear plastic film and a powder puff on top of that. I've never used the puff, only a brush with the product. I've used this with Glossier skin tint and concealer with Tatcha pore refining water gel and Marc Jacobs Coconut primer and I have to blot maybe once or twice. Now my skin just looks glowy instead of strait up disco ball. For reference, I have NC40 skin tone and this powder doesn't appear ashy or anything. It does brighten any makeup I have on my face a tiny bit. « less user

Surpassed the already high expectations

Shade: Warm Natural (matched in store)Packaging:- sturdy plastic- clip mechanism with a push button so it does not accidentally open in your bag - a thoughtful and useful touch- comes with a dabber- has a mirrorHow it behaves on face (I applied it by swirling my brush 2-3 times in the powder, then lightly tapping once on the side of the mirror to dust off excess):These observations are over a 10-12h/day wear period, over 10 days, with no retouching during the day. I did not use a primer. I would sometimes lightly apply a setting spray at the end that is not from Bobbi Brown. This is based on how I usually do my makeup, with the only change being the use of this powder instead of my previous one.- seems very finely milled- mattifying- 'airbrushed' look straight after application- one or two swipes is enough to mattify and set makeup - any more than that will appear cakey after a while, especially on drier skin- little to no texture (depends on whether there are any particular dry patches - I had struggled for a while with dry skin around my mouth, particularly the corners, to which the powder liked to stick and make dry flakes come off. This was not an issue once I moisturised properly, although I still saw minor texturising issues around drier areas)- did not make my foundation oxidise (foundation was not from Bobbi Brown) - first powder I own to not tamper with my foundation shade- sets concealer well (concealer was not from Bobbi Brown), making it less prone to creasing (but do not insist in this area, one swipe is perfectly enough to set)- did not notice any marks from raindrops on my face, and blusher, contour and concealer all stayed in place, despite having cycled in light rain- has helped my makeup stay on during a sweaty kickboxing sessionI have not attempted baking with this powder, as I prefer a natural look to wear to work/evening outings. This is an excellent product of very high quality. I will be repurchasing when it runs out. Less user

I purchased this powder after reading many positive reviews, but am a bit disappointed with it. As ever with Bobbi Brown, the colours are great, and Pale Yellow is the perfect shade for me. I find very pale yellow-toned powders hard to come by, so the product gets stars for this. However, I found this did next to nothing by way of oil control (I don't have very oily skin, just combination), and it didn't give the flawless/airbrushed/luminous finish that many other loose face powders give these days. It also goes on quite patch-ily at times. It's not terrible, just average.I still love the pressed powder version as it seems to give a much better finish on my skin, and so I will continue to use that and look elsewhere for loose powders.

I am a warm beige (3.5) in Bobbi's Natural Finish Long Lasting Foundation. I also have very, very oily skin. This is my everyday powder and by far the best I have ever used! I alternate between Sunny Beige for winter, and Warm Natural for summer. I also sometimes use Warm Natural as a subtle contour powder in the colder season, when my skin is lighter. I love this powder because it sets my makeup very well and lasts quite a while. It also gives your skin a nice matte finish when you first apply it; after a couple of hours, you get that lovely 'dewy look' which I usually can't achieve with regular foundation because my skin ends up too shiny. If you're after coverage, then I suggest the Illuminating Finish Powder Compact. This is made to be worn over liquid or mineral foundation, and will not provide extra coverage. The shades are subtle, but the colour payoff is just enough so that I can just wear my 3.5 Warm Beige foundation all year round and just change my shades of sheer powder instead, when my skin colour changes with the season. It's handy because I don't have to get colour matched for foundation every season! I feel the selection of shades do cover a lot of different skin tones. If you only use a little bit of concealer instead of foundation, then this is also perfect to set the concealer, and will give your skin a more blended and even look. This does not set into lines, at least not in my experience, and when you touch up, it does not cake, nor does it feel like you're wearing powder. The packaging is simple, sleek and classic, and it's the perfect size with a decent mirror; I always carry it around in my bag or clutches. I really only have to touch up once or twice a day. I'll put a bit more on if it's a really hot and humid day or if I'm going out at night; Reapplying once before you go out will usually last the rest of the night. I never use the sponge that comes with this, but still keep it in the compact to protect it so the powder won't shatter as if I accidentally drop it out of my bag (I've never actually had the pan of powder break/shatter on me). I instead cary around a small kabuki brush and use that to apply this powder on, as I feel it gives a more natural and even finish, while also applying just the right amount and does not waste as much product. I also find it more hygienic to use a kabuki, because I can easily spray it with brush disinfectant every day or so. The included sponge would be more difficult to clean, and will not last long if used regularly. If you also have oily skin, this works well with Bobbi's oil control lotion. This powder is pretty good value for money as it usually lasts me quite a while, and I use it almost everyday! The loose and the pressed powder from Bobbi are actually exactly the same, but get more if you buy the pressed one and they are both the same price. « less user

Simply amazing!

I started using this powder as part of the now-discontinued face touchup palette. ((Please please bring that back!!!!!)I use the pale yellow powder around my eyes to set my concealer. It works nicely and really is one of the few powders I've ever used around my eye area that doesn't crease or accentuate wrinkles...So needless to say that impressed me alot! What's extra special about it though, is that towards the afternoon when I'm tired, and looking like I need a major touch up, I just use a light-reflective pen underneath the outer corners of my eyes, and I use this pale yellow powder on the inner corner and kind of dab and blend. It really freshens up the inner eye area, especially considering the dark circles can look pretty bad towards afternoon. But I love that this cancels out the 'blue' of the circles and gives me a fresher, more rested look without being heavy, cakey, or looking dry.As soon as my little pallet runs out, I'm going to be ordering this full-size powder in quantity!lol The difference it makes with dark circles or shadows from being tired, is amazing! Definitely a must-have product!! Less
