creasing

not creasing

i use medium under my eyes for color correction, the rich for my contour and warm crease transition color, and the illuminate to highlight everywhere

- Sephora User

(i love this color in the crease of my eye too :)) i use the illuminate on the high point of my cheek and under my brow to give a natural highlight

staying power

longlasting

i love bobbie brown's makeup line i have never been disappointed in her makeup, i am 50 yrs old and i wear cool sand in her skin foundation stick, so i bought the retouching face pencil in extra light 5 and it is perfect it lasts all day and i don't have to retouch up later in the day which i was so happy on the long wear

- Sephora User

goes on smooth and stays on all day long

- Bobbibrowncosmetics User

brightness

brightening

absolutely brilliant for brightening the dark corners of your eyes and covering blemishes perfectly

- John Lewis User

i use light to medium to correct redness around my nose, chin and eyebrows; medium to color correct darkness under my eyes; and illuminate to highlight and sculpt my brow and cheekbones

- Sephora User

weight

lightweight

the blemishes stay covered all day but it doesn't look flakey or cakey at all

- Bobbibrowncosmetics User

i'd recommend this to anyone else with pretty serious dark circles looking to cover them up without being dry and cakey, as so many non-liquid concealers can be

- Sephora User

blendability

blends well

i have through trial and error found the best technique for me is to apply my foundation / tinted moisturiser and then apply this pencil - patting to blend with my fingers

- Bobbibrowncosmetics User

it doesn't cake, blends seamlessly into skin and creates a near perfect complexion

- Sephora User

texture

smooth

it's creamy and makes your skin look so smooth

DRYING

Only reason i'm giving this 2 stars is because of the nice color range. I really wanted to like this because it was a great color match for my under eyes which is what i only used it for. It was so drying and cracky under my eyes regardless if i moisturized or not. A better alternative if you don't have that dark under eyes like me would be the smashbox color correcting stick in look less tired but i feel like the color for it wasn't light enough for me which is why i tried this out and just didn't like it

use it for everything

I use light to medium to cover up redness on my nose, and acne scarring I have around my temples. The best way I have found to use this, is under my tinted moisturizer. I use the Deep as a contour, also under my tint. (I love this color in the crease of my eye too :)) I use the Illuminate on the high point of my cheek and under my brow to give a natural highlight. I found these pencils to be very creamy, but dry down to a natural matte finish. That said, the give a full coverage, with a natural finish.

What I have been looking for all my life!

I have always suffered with blemishes - a bit unfair as I'm now well into my 30s.... but this little pencil has changed my life and that isn't an exaggeration! I have never liked wearing foundation, particularly not every day, but hate going out without my skin looking good (or at least better than it would naturally). Now, I can just use a tinted moisturiser to even out my skin tone, then touch a little of this pencil on my blemishes and blend it around on my redness on my chin and my skin looks amazing. If I have used the hydrating eye cream first, I can even use it to brighten my under eye area. The blemishes stay covered all day but it doesn't look flakey or cakey at all. I just wish I had had this pencil when I was a teenager! I use a slightly lighter shade than I would in foundation, so I use extra light, when I am a warm ivory in foundation (when I ever wear any!) and this works perfectly.Incidentally, I also have the illuminating retouching pencil and this is brilliant as a really subtle hint of highlighter on tips of cheekbones and under eyebrows. Less

Favorite. Concealer. Ever!

I have really never been happy with a concealer before this one. This is my dream come true! I'm not into the creamy ones; they always crease and just seem like "way too much makeup" on me; and I can never get the color right. But the liquid ones dry powdery, and make my undereye area look old. And most pencils are too small and not the right texture for undereye concealing. Now, another reviewer didn't like this for the undereye area, but I find it just fine. (Sure, I might feel differently in 10 years.) I have tried blending with fingers, and also the Full Coverage Touch-up Brush and both work great. I think I prefer the brush as it's very soft on that delicate skin, and does a fantastic job of blending the product in. If using it over a larger area, the Full Coverage Brush would also probably work well.I find it does not need to be set with powder, and does not crease! And yet, I can put it on lightly enough that it does not seem like "too much concealer." It doesn't look too dry or powdery. It lasts all day, far longer than my Foundation Stick is lasting.I agree with the other reviewer that the colors are a bit surprising and difficult to discern online. It's best to test in person if possible. I'm very fair, but my skin tone correct shade is actually "light." A couple of these pencils are very pink ("bisquey" as Bobbi puts it in the video) and "Extra Light" is one of those pinky shades. So the names are a bit deceiving. Once I got over my surprise about which one matched my skin tone, I'm in love with the color and how natural it looks (I don't like it when the concealer is too light, and you look like you have white rings under the eyes!) So, in just a few days this has become a can't live without product! Definitely worth trying. « less

From a conceal-aholic... these are a game changer.

I have been on a mission to find the best full-coverage concealer for my genetic dark eye area since I was about 17. I keep thinking I've found the best products I can find (aka settling for "acceptable", but then I spotted this stick and tried in in-store. I am olive-skinned with more purplish circles way far down my eyes almost to my cheek, so I grabbed the Medium stick, which has a nice warm hue that color-corrected me. I was instantly amazed with the solid coverage and creamy, blendable texture; a concealer that I do not need to use a lot of but will adequately even out my face is my sword in the stone. I applied a bit under my eyes (that were STILL dark after applying my old concealers) and checked how it looked in every mirror/ lighting in the store. I was really pleased. I used this stick this morning in my full makeup routine and am just as happy with how it looks as really my only concealer and in the natural/ office light! It's pretty clear that my dark circles are a huge insecurity for me, and I know I'm not the only one, so it's a very big thing to find a product that you feel is THE one to help make you feel like you're putting your best face forward. I'd recommend this to anyone else with pretty serious dark circles looking to cover them up without being dry and cakey, as so many non-liquid concealers can be! « less
