Love it, gives me flawless skin!

I sought the perfect foundation for a long time, and tried a LOT of different products and types of makeup -- powder and liquid foundations, BB creams, CC creams, etc. None of them quite gave me the look and feel I was looking for, or if they did, that look only lasted 4 hours and I don't have the time or interest in reapplying my entire face multiple times in a day. Finally, I came across a sample of the Bobbi Brown BB Cream in Extra Light. I'm normally pretty fair with neutral undertones, but have recently been in the sun and gotten a slight tan, and this color STILL matches, which is freaking unheard-of. Anyway, I digress. The color is great, but what I really love about this product is the feel. I don't like the mask-like feeling of a lot of liquid and powder foundations, but I still need a medium amount of coverage to even out my skin. This BB cream succeeds in both regards. The coverage is enough to perfect my skin and give me a much more even look, while not feeling or looking like I’m wearing any makeup. I still need to use a little bit of concealer to cover a little bit of redness and sometimes dark under-eye circles, but overall this BB cream is excellent at covering up problem areas while still looking natural. This would probably also be great for ladies with freckles, as it’ll provide coverage but not completely block them out. I use the MUFE HD Primer and MUFE HD Microfinish Powder afterwards, and my makeup will stay on well into the night without needing a touch-up! The SPF 35 in this is enough to where I don’t need to apply additional sunscreen on an average day, and it’s moisturizing enough to not ever get flakey or cakey looking (a problem which plagued me when I was using powder and liquid foundations), but never feels greasy. It’s creamy and super easy to apply, I just use my fingers and it works fine. Overall, this is my new favorite BB cream, beating out the MUFE and Smashbox ones by a long shot. « less

I love it for me

Shade - Medium My SKIN - My face is what I like to call a true combination. I have dry patches (mainly bridge and sides of my nose), spots that break out easily (chin, near eye brows, upper lip area), spots that are oily (tip of my nose, very top of my forehead, sometimes near cheek bone). The only winter affects I get are that the dry spots may potentially become flaky, and my lips get chapped. I really like this product for myself. It's hydrating compared to other products. Most liquid products make my whole face look a bit cakey after it has set into my skin. This BB Cream leaves a dewy finish. Because I do have dry spots, I do have to put a little extra moisturizer on my dry spots first. After I apply this, my skin tone looks very even and dewy or glowing (not oily). Any acne scars or redness from blemishes become practically undetectable. I don't have to conceal spots unless the color is really dark. I hardly ever use concealer anymore, for anything, unless I have obvious bags under my eyes. For acne, as far as my observation goes, this product has not broken me out at all. But I do not use this every day because I like being natural (and I don't mean APPEAR natural with foundation) but to BE natural, where I don't cover my face with anything but moisturizer, and to minimize (not conceal) redness on a few spots if I have any. The application is fairly simple. Some like to think it's thick, but I don't think so. When this dries, it doesn't pull your skin tight. You can easily work it in like a moisturizer, and it doesn't leave streaks. I apply this with my CLEAN hands. I can't make a comment about brush or sponge application because I haven't tried; I don't want to potentially waste product that could be mostly absorbed by the applicator. One thing I would change is probably get a different color. I actually purchased product at a Bobbi Brown counter when I was on vacation (Cali., I'm from Juneau, AK where weather is like Seattle) and didn't see them in Sephora stores. The sales lady suggested Medium, which makes sense. My skin DOES NOT tan (I've tried so many tricks-FYI), but my skin does glow a bit from the sun. So Medium is a tad darker than I am used to, but it still looks natural on me. I might opt for the shade lighter called Fair because here in Alaska, majority of the time, I won't have that sun-kissed glow. One thing lucky about not being able to tan is ONE COLOR (example: foundation - or in this case BB Cream) vs. having two, DARK - SUMMER / LIGHT-WINTER like most people. [Side note] - Typically shades have Light, Medium, and Dark. And within the shades, they may range from Light 1-4, and so on. I am typically the darkest shade in "Light" (light 4), or the lightest shade in the "Medium"(medium 1), depending on the brand. « less

Not For Me

Thank you Bobbi Brown for being so generous with your samples. I was able to try this 4 different ways with poor results, but at least I'm not stuck with a product that will not work.Issues are:Recommended for normal to oily skin - however sits in my pores and looks greasy going on and stays shiny all day. By the end of the day I looked shiny and dry and patchy at the same time.I have medium skin, I used the medium tone, color was OK a tad bit too yellow/orange. The BB Cream did make my face very even toned and was happy with the degree of coverage, natural but overall flaws were covered. If you have normal skin with few wrinkles or pores, this will most likely work for you. A mess on my skin though (oily, aging with larger pores).

well worth the money if....

While i gave this product a 5/5 rating, keep in mind that face products are very relative to the type of skin that you have. After reading the not so great reviews, I realized that the people who did not like this bb cream have more normal to dry skin, sensitive skin, and prefer a very thin product with a natural finish. I, on the other hand, have very normal skin. Occasionally I am more oily and sometime I get dry patches and sometime I break out - the normal in my opinion. This bb cream is thicker, however, it dries! That is a problem for people with dry skin, however, great for people with normal to oily skin. I love that I don't have to set it because it truly sets itself. It is thicker and what i found is that it is also somewhat buildable because it sets. I have slight scaring and pigmentation, but I dont like to feel a lot of product on my face. I just put a tiny pea size amount all over the face and then give it a sec, then i pop just a tad more on the specific areas I want. If you have dry patches this is not for you. You need something a bit more hydrating. I also struggle with finding a bb cream that doesn't feel cakey because sometimes I am more oily. I love the laura mercia tinted moisturizer, but it isn't enough. The nars one is great but i am allergic to nars products, and other ones, such as buxom, smashbox, and many others tend to be so wet that i can't set it and it just ends up more work for me. This bb cream is perfect for you if you have normal to oily skin, and perhaps would like to still cover spots but with a very natural and radiant finish all while practically setting itself!

Anyone know of a great tinted moisturizer that won’t make my skin look flakey or dry when applied to my skin, I’ve tried Clinique moisture surge and first aid beauty’s shade rage isn’t light enough for my skin. I have super dry, sensitive, acne prone skin. I’ve applied tinted moisturizer with my hands which left my skin flakey, then applied moisturizer and applied with a brush but still had the same affect, am I doing something wrong?? I want a natural finish without the hassle of a lot of makeup

I’m looking for a tinted moisturizer or something similar (that gives off natural matte finish) for combo skin? I’m usually oily in my tzone. Don’t need a heavy foundation w full coverage, light coverage can also be good. #sos #foundation
