Get your glow on with these top tips and tricks.
Glow hard or go home. That’s the Mira community mantra, anyway - because we’re all about highlighter. These powders are next-level luminous, bringing attention to your favorite features and giving you that glow you’ve been chasing. But did you know they can also help you fake fuller lips? Or be used as the best body glitter ever? Highlighter is more versatile than you may think, and adds sparkle to your beauty collection in more ways than one. Read on for the Mira community's top 3 highlighter hacks:
Apply on the cupid’s bow for fuller lips
Want the signature Instagram lips, but not ready to go full Kylie just yet? No problem. A little highlighter can go a long way in plumping up your pout… no injections or lip liner required.
All you need to do is add a small amount of highlighter to the Cupid’s bow area, and blend very slightly along the upper lip. Once it’s blended, apply your lip gloss or lipstick as you normally would, and then place a bit of highlighter to the center of your bottom lip for additional volume. And voilà! This trick only takes a few seconds, and gives you instantly fuller lips that still look natural and accentuate your features.
Fake an awake look
Goodbye, tired eyes. Even if you just spent all night on a work presentation or finishing the latest Hulu series, you don’t want everybody else to know it. That’s why all the beauty experts recommend the inner corner shimmer to instantly light up your eyes and help you look awake and refreshed.
This trick is as simple as it sounds. Just place a bit of highlighter on your finger or favorite makeup brush, and dab the inner corners of your eyes to brighten them and make it look like you aren’t running entirely on caffeine. The eye area has very delicate skin that ages easily and can make you look dull or tired, and this super simple tip is a lifesaver. You can also use it to accentuate your eyeshadow looks!
Accentuate your eye makeup
Even if you’re more of a matte person, who doesn’t like a little shimmer now and then? And excuse the 1D reference, but highlighter can light up your world (and eyes!) like nobody else. Use it as the sparkly, center shadow when doing a halo eye for a night out, or just highlight below your brow bone to bring eyes forward and make them pop. You can even get a little creative, and use your favorite rose gold shadow to highlight soft, pastel eyeshadow looks for spring.
