"The original formula didn't quite work for me, so I had super high hopes on this liquid version and I had to snatch one as soon as it became available at my local Sephora. I have super dry skin (& maturing) so usually any mattifying products can be problematic. I stopped wearing foundation all over my face. If I do, it'd be partial or lightly concealing certain areas then translucent powder. So I needed something to somehow fill out pores and hiding imperfection of my skin surface. This is perfect product for that! This liquid formula glides on my skin literally silky and it's so smooth. It gives me nice satin finish and for dry skin person like me, I almost won't need setting powder after this. Or I can only lightly powder on my T-zone so it keeps powder usage to minimum. I use to love Josie Maran Surreal Skin Argan Finishing Balm, which I think is very similar except Josie's formula is balm and heavier. I found Tacha's last longer and feels more polished. Formula-wise, it feels almost identical to TOUCH IN SOL No Poreblem Primer. It's way more affordable and works so I liked it too, but I couldn't live with the strong smell. Tatcha, on the other hand, the smell is so gentle and soothing I found. Anyways, my point is, If you have dry skin you're gonna love this. All of Tatcha's products have skin loving ingredients as well, which is a big plus. This is the only product I can wear to look nicer worry-free. Thank you for creating this, Tatcha!!" - sephora user
"i started off with studio fix compact w/t fondation I found a new love that day. love that stuff too, it started the ball rolling to trying mac's full line. i cant believe the quality of everything ive tried. no wonder its used by make up artists and worn by models and on red carpets all the time. I totally love this stuff. i have the pickiest skin ever. its sensitive and dry and oily and gets breakouts..I get it all.. this stuff doesn't give me any problems. it makes my skin smooth.. my skin gets patches. this stuff evens it out and helps ALOT with the redness if not takes it away. (depending on how bad it is that day) i don't wear make up all the time so i thought this stuff would feel heavy but NOPE! it goes on rubs in smooths everything out and makes my mac makeup.(which i only started using on my honeymoon last June of 2010and ill never change. I'm trying everything over time and so far soooo good! mac stays on really well)this stuff makes it even better. love it. it really makes a difference. i always thought primer was just a gimmick Have to say i was totally wrong there. no matter your skin type u should definitely try this stuff its very worth the money. and I've still got my first bottle. i bought this stiff at least 9 months ago. u only need about 3/4 of the size of a pea. IF THAT. seriously don't use more or you'll be simply waisting it. and this is not something u want to waste. its practically worth its weight in gold or more!!!!!. GIVE IT A GO. I BET YOULL LOVE IT. <span class="shop__a pd-reviews__translate-span">« less</span>" - M·A·C user

"The Dermablend Poresaver Matte Makeup Primer is one of the best that I have ever used. It is so very smooth and makes my skin glow without being greasy. I have used this primer both with and without makeup. It helps to condition the dry parts of my face. When I used it with makeup, I could tell how much more even my foundation looked. It truly minimizes your pores and makes you feel beautiful. I love that it is fragrance-free, allergy-tested, and sensitive skin-tested. The matte finish is so beautiful and makes my skin look great. I was not aware of this primer but I am extremely happy that I tried it. I will definitely recommend it to my friends and family. " - dermablend.com user

"I was immediately sucked into trying this product because 1-the packaging. So cute, just like ALL of Too Faced's products; I especially loved that it has a pump AND is a squeezable tube so I no product will go to waste (let's be real, I'll cut it open to get the last little bit out! I can't do that with glass or plastic bottles) 2-I was immediately sucked into its claims to be "cooling". It is. It so is! I actually enjoyed the feel of the primer and it's cooling effect! 3-it honest to God, is the BEST primer I've tried in a long time. It totally mattifies my skin and smoothes out my pores pretty well while not sucking my skin dry, my skin still feels hydrated. Ever since i began using this primer, my foundation has applied like a dream, looked flawless, and stayed in place all day-and no oiliness has been seen. HOLY COW! I know, you think it's too good to be true, it's not. It is so true, so amazing! PS-i have combination skin, I'm oily on my forehead and chin areas but tend to be dry elsewhere and this has worked like a dream for me! I def think it'll work well for any skin type, especially those who tend to be oily! « less" - Sephora user
"🖤 TLDR 🖤 Pros: Hydrating, Longlasting, Natural, Smooth Cons: Doesn't mix well with certain foundations 5/5, gorgeous with the right foundation. 🖤 Full Review 🖤 Literally my FAVORITE primer ever. However, this is a more water-based primer so I want to list foundations that it WORKS WITH and DOES NOT WORK WITH, in my trial and error. ⭐️ WORKS WITH ⭐️ ( * means personal favorite ) • Becca Ultimate Coverage Foundation • NARS Radiant Longwear Liquid Foundation* • NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation • Hourglass Vanish Seamless Liquid Foundation* • Huda Beauty #FauxFilter Liquid Foundation • Anastasia Beverly Hills Luminous Foundation* • Milk Makeup Flex Stick Foundation* • Makeup Forever Ultra HD Foundation • Lancôme Teinte Idole Ultra Coverage Liquid Foundation 🚫 DOES NOT WORK WITH ( IN MY EXPERIENCE )🚫 Because Milk Makeup Hydrogrip is a water based HYDRATION foundation, any foundation that is water or oil based will not work well. These are the ones I tried that didn't work. • Tarte SEA Water Foundation • Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation • MAC Studio Waterweight Foundation • Cover FX Natural Finish Foundation If you find the right foundation, Milk Makeup Hydrogrip Primer works FANTASTIC! It makes makeup look gorgeous and natural and soft. The tackiness of the primer is only intial, as it makes the makeup stick much better! 100% recommend. An effective primer that instantly* mattifies shine and minimizes the look of pores. *Individual results may vary.
"I truly love this new Tarte Quench Hydrating Primer. It’s a clear formula which isn’t super thick or heavy and feels nice on my skin. It absorbed quickly and didn’t leave my skin feeling sticky or anything. It really made my skin feel super soft & hydrated. Hydration is really important to me so I was very happy with how great my skin looked & felt after applying. This primer really left my skin so smooth & soft & ready for makeup application. It held my makeup on extremely well. I’m really thrilled with this primer! It’s definitely my new go to primer! The only thing I do wish is that the bottle was a little bigger but with that said, a little goes a long way so you certainly don’t need huge amounts of this when applying. I’m hopeful it will last a fair amount of time :) I think everyone will be very pleased with this product. Especially with how hydrating and smooth it makes your skin. I should also note I’m 36 with normal to dry skin. Less" - tartecosmetics.com user
A soft-radiance face primer to minimize the look of pores.
"My face is oily. Very very extremely oily. I have tried popular primers from the drug store tier to high end, mattifying, oil control, long lasting, but every single day at about 12 PM, my face was just covered in icky shiny oil showing through my foundation or BB cream. Enter my Ipsy bag from December that contained this Rimmel London mattifying primer. My first reaction was to throw it in a drawer of unused makeup. Then one day I decided to give it a shot. My makeup game was forever changed! I have used this EVERY single day since discovering it. My BB cream stays matte ALL day, from when I put it on at 7 AM until taking it off at 5 PM. The only place I can see any sign of oil coming through is right in the creases on the sides of my nose, and this usually only starts at around 2 PM. Once blotted super easily and quickly, I am good to go! I just can't say enough about this amazing holy grail primer!!! The next best thing besides how great it works is the price!!!" - walgreens user
An oil-free, silicone-free, luminous matte primer that glides on for a glowing, shine-free finish.
"I received this product as a free sample - this review contains my honest thoughts. This product (as the title of this review says) lives up to the hype. Picture is attached: I have large pores on my cheeks - this is with just the blur stick on, same lighting, cheek is slightly red o the after due to rubbing the product on.• Very lightweight - honestly can’t even feel it on your skin.• Leaves skin smooth & matte.• Applies completely translucent.• Easy application - just swipe on.• Doesn’t feel greasy or leave a weird residue*.* If you have dry skin patches or acne scabbing it will ball up around them - HOWEVER - all you need to do is dab it into your skin and it actually helps reduce visibility under your foundation.• The only downside to this is that there is a weird smell but it dissipates once applied.I highly recommend this blur stick, I was actually shocked by the results. I know the before and after pics are very subtle but under makeup it made a big difference.*I received this product complimentary for review purposes* « less" - Sephora user

"I try out all Fenty Beauty products but I was hesitant on purchasing this product because I had a horrible experience using the first FB face primer...I have sensitive, combination skin and it caused me to breakout which is a no-no. However this product is the truth...not only is it super light-weight and made my skin super matte without feeling tight it made my makeup look super flawless. It made my large pores seem to disappear and after wearing my makeup for 8 hours during a 98 degree day, I looked in the mirror to see everything still in tact and I had a beautiful glow that didn't resemble a greasy slice of pizza. It literally made my FB soft-matte foundation feel like I had no foundation on at all...usually if I touch my face throughout day while wearing foundation a little product will be on my fingers, not with this primer. I have found my holy grail primer and I would suggest it to anyone with oily or combination skin!!!" - sephora user
"I received this primer along with a new kit I bought (and the primer alone was worth paying the $$ for the whole kit). I used to use the original Prime Time Foundation Primer and it worked well for me, but this Brightening primer works significantly better for me. First of all, I have combination/oily skin and use the Bare Minerals Matte Foundation. When using the Matte Foundation, you don't get the same luminous glow that you do with the original foundation. But with this primer, you can achieve the glow of the original foundation, but with the matte formula. So this primer allows me to get that subtle luminosity, but without a shine that looks oily. I also like the consistency of this primer much better than the original formula (after a good shake to the bottle as many of the other reviewers have noted). It is light, airy, and leaves my skin very silky. The formula is slightly tinted, but I like that attribute because it adds slight coverage to any imperfections (like redness). The only thing I noticed so far that would worry me, is that this formula will be hard to pump out when it is almost gone. The consistency is a bit thinner, so I can see it becoming a bit of a mess as it sprays out upon pumping. <span class="shop__a pd-reviews__expand-link pd-reviews__translate-span" data-hide="-6703630513785622477-full" data-show="-6703630513785622477-short" jsaction="pdui.tvc">« less</span>" - Sephora user
"I was really unsure whether to order this product as it is very expensive for a primer. For years, I used MAC's Prep and Prime SPF 50 (I don't bother with anything less than SPF 50) and I used to say it was my desert island product, I loved it so much. I loved it for two reasons - it had the desired SPF and it had an extremely good mattifying effect which I loved as I have oily skin. That was until they changed the formula and my last bottle I purchased left me with a face looking like a frying pan! Thanks for the heads up, MAC...Great SPF, if you have extremely dry skin! So, reluctantly I ordered this Ultra Sun Protection primer. And I absolutely love it! More than I ever loved my MAC one :) it leaves my skin looking smooth, refined and generally a lot more beautiful! My husband told me to stop looking at myself - but I can't stop, I am so pleased with it. My oily skin is under control all day and my make up and blusher stay in place. Due to the tiny amount needed when applying and it's watery consistency, it is bound to last me a long time. An investment - yes, but worth every penny! I guess, it's my new desert island product :) <span class="shop__a pd-reviews__expand-link pd-reviews__translate-span" data-hide="-8239910397571324219-full" data-show="-8239910397571324219-short" jsaction="pdui.tvc">« less</span>" - SPACE.NK user
"I've got crazy combination skin... Large pores on my nose that produce oil all day long. Yet at times, the skin on my nose can be dry and flaky AT THE SAME TIME. My forehead gets a bit oily and my chin is prone to clogged pores. My cheeks are always soft and not oily or dry- so I fight the good fight daily. I've tried SO many primers. Most do nothing to keep my makeup from sliding off my nose by mid day. I've currently got multiple primers in my makeup cabinet: Bare Minerals, Becca, Younique (Ive even tried the eye primer on my nose which is ok, but not quite "there") Dr Brandt, Milani (this is actually my second fave) elf... I think that's it currently but I've tried SO MANY more. I got the Cover FX in my Boxycharm and I'm so glad I did... My search is finally over. I'm ordering a tube from Ulta today because I've almost used mine up and I CANNOT be out. I wear this stuff daily. Esp on my no makeup days (which are rare but like on pool days this summer) because it covers and blurs my giant pores that I'm extremely self conscious about. A freaking primer hides my pores enough for ME to go sans makeup. This is huge!! Recommend 100%!!" - ulta user
"I knew not to expect any sort of pore filling etc from this product because it doesn’t claim to transform your skin like that so knowing that im actually super happy with it! It’s like a thicker “cloudy” gel that melts into the skin and feels hydrating (not heavy moisturizing) just like it’s adding water and cooling your skin. Then for a couple areas I used a pore filing primer in top and it worked great. My makeup actually applied easily on top and stayed put all day. Also I used a super matte foundation (Dior Forever Undercover) and it made it look a bit more natural in my opinion I think bc if the hydration my skin looked healthy and not like makeup was sitting on top. Anyway just expect hydration, soothing, and blue light protection (which is super cool!) and you might love this! It’s a safe bet since you can use this all over and target other areas with pore filler (you don’t rly need to put porefessional for example on your whole face it’s too heavy) - this one is more of a safe every day lightweight primer that feels great on the skin awesome for ppl who live in polluted urban areas and stare at their phone constantly Less" - Sephora user

"I am in my early 40's and have dryer skin but can have somewhat oily t-zone in hot and or humid conditions which additionally makes my pores look large. A little dab of this stuff on my forehead, my nose and the sides of my nose (where my pores appear the largest) has an amazing mattifying effect and I do mean AMAZING! I moisturize my face let it set a few minutes (if I have the time which isn't always the case) put a few drops of this on (a little goes a long way) and then use my foundation. My t-zone is matte and stays matte for most of the day. I LOVE how this has eliminated the need to use much powder so I now look naturally matte instead of "dusty".Don't use this all over your face unless you have very oily skin, it's not a typical primer to be used in this way. An oil-free makeup primer that hydrates and nourishes dry, flaky skin to create a smooth canvas for the rest of your beauty routine.
"Working in the healthcare industry I’m always on the go by the end of each daily my make has worn halfway off and my forehead and nose look like I’ve applied oil . I was extremely excited to try this product in hopes of it helping my makeup last throughout the day and most importantly control my oily skin . At first use I was hesitant the serum looks thick and glittery however it’s not it’s application glides on super soft and helps hydrate your skin while primarily prepping your skin for your everyday make up . It drys completely and doesn’t cake up or make your make up look thick . It lasted throughout the day and left my makeup flawless without any shiny areas . I’m so happy with neutropenias shine control matte primer serum it has proven to do exactly what it says it will and I can guarantee this will remain apart of my daily make up prep for as long as it’s sold! "I have been using this primer for years, and it is the absolute best that I have found!! I have a baseline pinkness in the cheeks and forehead and need very calming products. Your skin needs to be well cared for to get the most out of this product. If you don't have a regimen of regular exfoliation and a good daily / nightly moisturizer, you will find this chalky (I have seen those reviews in the past). I take good care of my skin, and I find this primer to be amazing!! I use a SkinCeuticals serum followed by MDCreme BB cream (SPF 50! also a staple and very calming) followed by a very thin layer of this color corrector. That's it - no foundation - just smooth, clear skin. It wasn't until I discovered this primer that I could stop using foundation to hide my pink hues. I then simply apply eyebrow tint, mascara, and a neutral lip for daily wear ... and I'm on my way. Try it!! But don't give up if it's white / chalky - you only need very thin layer. If you are still finding it chalky, you may need a better overall skin regimen first, which will likely also help with your redness anyway. <span class="shop__a pd-reviews__expand-link pd-reviews__translate-span" data-hide="-1934680473447830897-full" data-show="-1934680473447830897-short" jsaction="pdui.tvc">« less</span>" - Pür Minerals user
An illuminating primer that refines the look of pores while giving skin a natural glow and creating the perfect canvas for makeup application.
"I have been on the never ending quest to find something to help my extremely oily skin, especially my nose area. Of all the products I have tried and there have been many, this works the best. My skin is so oily that I usually have only a hour or less after makeup application that I need to touch up, with this product I can usually go 2-3 hours. I think the best thing about this product is that it helps my makeup stay put. After I touch-up with my oil-obsorbing sheet my makeup looks fresh and I don't need to add powder. It minimizes my large pores and gives a good matte finish. It last a long time and I think it is worth the money. I am on my second bottle." - ulta.com user
"I purchased the Exuviance kit for oily/acne prone skin. I have very oily skin which comes along with enlarged pores, acne, and scars. This stuff was so awesome that I went out and bought the big bottle! It keeps the oil production down enough for me to feel confident enough to not wear foundation every day (and makes my foundation look even better when I do wear it! Makes a perfect primer; Keeps makeup from looking greasy). This product does what it says, gives you a total matte complexion and is very lightweight! I have even noticed a change in my skin, even if I skip a day of wearing it my skin still is much less oily than it was before. " - ulta.com user
An oil-free makeup primer that mattifies and controls shine throughout the day, while also prolonging the look of makeup.
A weightless gel primer that mattifies the skin, treats blemishes and minimizes the appearance of pores. It’s formulated with 1% salicylic acid to prevent and heal blemishes and Ancient African Tree Bark to minimize pore size and control shine throughout the day.
"I have a love/hate relationship with most primers. The ones with a lot of silicone tend to make my face look perfectly matte and fill in pores for smooth foundation application, but seriously dry out my skin. The moisturizing ones do nothing to hide pores and do not make my foundation last very long, but at least do not dry out my skin. I figured this one was at least worth a try. It is a cream based primer, so it is a bit moisturizing, but definitely does not make you look oily. It does what it says and gives a nice glow to the skin, kind of that lit-from-within look we had as kids but lost over time. In addition, my makeup does last all day. I still use a moisturizer and additional sunscreen because I do like to use a bit more SPF than what is in here, but I would do that with any primer. Many primers make my sensitive skin break out, but not this one. I didn't think it would do much for my pores, but my 13-year-old daughter says she doesn't see the "dots on my nose" when I use this primer, and I can't think of a better recommendation than that! All in all, this is a fantastic product. You only need a pea-sized amount, it smooths over the skin well, foundation wears all day, and it gives a non-greasy glow to the skin, even on the New England 70% humidity days. <span class="shop__a pd-reviews__expand-link pd-reviews__translate-span" data-hide="-228238425125171981-full" data-show="-228238425125171981-short" jsaction="pdui.tvc">« less</span>" - Sephora user
Ulta's color correcting face primer is the professional secret for a picture perfect look everyday. This primer features a color correcting green tint that minimizes redness and evens skin tone to soften imperfections. Non-comedogenic.
"I have tried many primers trying to find the right one.First let me tell you a little about my skin and coloring just so you get an idea:no/minimal acnevery very fair skin, almost blue tinteddark circles to the maxdark spots appearingdark coloring (eyes, hair, and general features)combination skin, very dry on the face and very oily along the hair line and top of my foreheaddull skin toneso many foundations just don't look right. They don't match my skin tone, they don't look nice. Primers made them look slightly better, but I couldn't find the right one.I tried Smashbox Dark Spot Correcting Serum/Primer, which was okay, but my least favorite I've tried I suppose. I've also tried the Nars Oil Free Primer, and Too Faced Primed and Poreless, as well as the Original Laura Mercier primer. I love the original, but I liked the Too Faced Primer the most before I tried this. It was the only one that made the color pop. I need the color to pop to lighten and brighten my dull pale face. The Too Faced primer also had skin conditioners, and felt much lighter, so I suppose I like it for those reasons. But this, I love this. It is thick and oily, and I think it may be bad for people prone to Acne, but I don't really know, I'm just guessing. It is heavy, so use it very very sparingly, but you don't need much, so you know it's a good product, and a good value. You don't need to use a lot, this bottle will last you a very long time. When you apply it, it already has given your skin a light radiant tone. How? I don't know. Magic I am guessing. It has some color to it and some shimmer, but I don't know where, since it's very subtle. That is nice.It also somehow blends together with your foundation to make it glow richly. It some how makes me look as though I've had sun, because it does give my skin a glow. I also don't know how because my foundation is not shimmery, and is also very pale. (I use Nars Sheer Glow in Gobi) It is SO very lovely. It looks GREAT. It feels fantastic took, luckily I haven't been in weather enough to sweat and have my oily skin act up, it is super nice in the winter for my dry skin. It's thick oily nature leaves my skin looking and feeling supple and moisturized. Heck, I look "moist" in the figurative way. It makes me feel supple and beautiful. I LOVE this stuff, and use it every day. It's even better for a "night time" look, but I love the radiant glow it gives me, so I use it every day.I think this is one of those things that aren't for everyone. I'm one of those people who likes dramatic makeup and fashion, so I love that effect. Not everyone may enjoy that effect, so I strongly suggest using the sampling feature of the local Sephora stores and their make up artists recommendations to find the right primer for you. It took me a lot of time to find this one. It was totally worth the experimentation and wait to find the right one, this one is great. « less" - Sephora user

"Bought this on a whim during the spring vib sale. I have used many different primers to combats my combination skin (normal/oily). I'm a nurse so by the end of my 12hr shift I have blotted at least 2-3 times. And most times my foundation has separated or come off (my foundation ATM is Estée Lauder double wear light or urban decay all nighter). Using this as a primer has lengthen the wear time on the already "long lasting" foundations. I really surprised at how well my makeup lasted. At the end of the shift, I prolly blotted 1-2 but my makeup hasn't separated. I'm new to anything luminous...thinking it'll highlight the pores on my cheeks. But it didn't..it really does give u the glow from within everyone's into. Now reading other reviews, some people say it doesn't really do anything or they don't see a glow. I like using med-full coverage foundation but at the same time I prolly use one pump for all my face. So if ur packing on ur foundation u may not see the difference. I went back and forth between this and the becca backlighting primer. I choose this one because I felt this was enough glow esp since I'm new to the luminous game. Don't know about the other colors but I choose luminous and I'm a med-tan complexion and it works great! Also read other reviews about it emphasizing texture. Try using Drunk elephant...I used it and it has really cleared my skin. So haven't experienced problems in that area. So as a primer it has over exceeded my expectations..making make up last. And the glow factor is a bonus! Also try use this with ole henriksen counter balance oil control hydrated it works great together!! « less" - Sephora user
"Initially, I tried this primer in the sample size and fell in love. It's great on it's own or under your makeup. It gives your face the natural dewiness that is actually on trend for the summer, but I like a slight dewiness over a matte face.I tend not to wear a lot on my face during the warmer months, so this is nice with a little powder. It's non-comedogenic and I like that it's free of parabens and phthalates. I hope that Milani does not ever discontinue this. " - Target user
"I don't have oily skin, but do have enlarged pores especially on my nose.I love the consistency of this primer. It's like a serum rather than a tar-like goop. Nars goes on smoothly and quickly. It does a good job of camouflaging my pores and keeps my makeup fresh longer than if I skip a primer. " - Beauty.com user
