Infallible 24 Hour Fresh Wear Foundation by L'Oreal

"I have drier skin. This foundation really is not as drying as many people say. I make sure to exfoliate my skin before I use the foundation. I put moisturizer and moisturizing primer before I apply it as well. It does oxidize a little bit. However, it is not as bad as the superstay foundation and for how cheap it is, it is not a big deal. It lasts the entire day. I would not say it is a matte foundation as loreal claims. I mean I do use moisturizer beforehand, but it is not totally matte. I do not use powder and throughout the day oil does not build too bad. Throughout the day, the more natural the finish becomes. It does not settle into fine lines anymore than any other good foundation would. It is full coverage. I have recieved tons of compliments on it. I totally recommend, as finding foundations that suit my dry skin is sooooo difficult." - mira user

Renergie Lift Makeup Foundation SPF 20 by Lancôme

"Env: developmentI admit, I am young looking for my age, and normally do not purchase make up or skin care products for "lift" or anti-aging properties. But I left my foundation at home so while visiting my mother I borrowed her **Lancome Renergie Lift Make Up SPF 20. ****Lancome Renergie Lift Make Up SPF 20 **is a 1.0 ounce bottle of foundation with sun protection level 20. It is in a heavy glass bottle not easily broken, with a small "pump" similar to those on hand lotions used for dispensing the make up.Priced at approximately $45.00 it may be considered very expensive, but the bottle really does last a long time. The **Lancome Renergie Lift Make Up SPF 20 **foundation comes in approximately 15 colors to choose from, each of the starting with the title "lifting." It is designed for normal to dry skin.It advertises itself as a having the ability to transform you skin instantly to even younger looking skin. Quote, The innovative Micro-LiftTM technology with Pure Vitamin E immediately smoothes skin resulting in an instant, lines virtually disappear. Skin radiates seamless beauty.***My Viewpoint: ***I have now been using my **Lancome Renergie Lift Make Up SPF 20 **for several months. I probably would never have purchased this item for myself, but I also wear very little make up, such as some foundation, mascara and lipstick and I am out the door, especially at the price of $45.00. What was truly gratifying to me was after running around Dayton, Ohio all day long, and experiencing a rather stressfull day I stopped by my in laws (for some comfort and wine). My father in law said, "Wow!" Lisa you have always had beautiful skin, but you are absolutely glowing today," My mother in law wondered what I had done to my skin to make it look so smooth, soft and radiant. I actually had to think about it. Then I remembered! Now, to get that kind of reaction, I will definitely spend a lot more money on my foundation. Since a little goes a long way, and my skin looks healthy, why spend almost the same amount over the course of months buying bottle after bottle.**Lancome Renergie Lift Make Up SPF 20 **holds up well in the Houston heat.it goes on smooth and creamy and is very easy to remove also. I have used it all summer, and without any other sun protection product I have avoided sun burns and my skin at the end of the day still looks fresh and smooth. Although I have never had a problem with acne, sometimes I would get a break out here and there when switching make up and that did not happen to me with this one.5 Stars from this 40 something mom. I intend to grow old gracefully, but not fight it and if this can make my face look smooth and radiant then I will definitely keep buying it.Env: development Less" - viewpoints.com user

The Healthy Foundation SPF 20 by Physicians Formula

"I've tried a few foundations from physician's formula that have actually been amazing (youthful wear, argan wear bb cream) but the shade range has been so bad that I could only use these if I have a tan. This one really surprised me with the shade range, the quality of the product and the packaging. I got the shade LW2 (the lightest warm shade) and it is a perfect match. For reference, I am close to the shade 120 Buff in Almay's Best Blend Forever foundation. I didn't notice any oxidation with this foundation. It has a medium coverage - but it looks smooth and flawless. it also doesn't pick up on any of my dry patches, or break up on me throughout the day as most foundations do. I apply this with a real techniques blending sponge (which is my preferred method with every foundation). It has a natural finish - I don't feel like I need to set it on my combo skin. Lastly, I wish this would have a higher SPF or no SPF at all. SPF 20 isn't enough for me to wear this without any other sun protection, and it may cause flashback. I have not tested it for flashback yet so I do not know if that will occur. As for the packaging, I personally love the large doe foot applicator. It's so easy to apply the perfect amount every time. I wish the bottle was plastic, not glass though. It feels very luxurious but I'm afraid I will break it if it drops.I received this product at a discounted price in return for my unbiased review. « less" - walmart.com user

Perfection Lumière Velvet Smooth Effect Makeup by Chanel

"This is my new favorite foundation.About my skin: I have yellow/neutral combination skin with an oily t-zone. I don't have any dry patches, minimal fine lines, and mild rosiness. My skin is not prone to break outs. I like using light foundation to even out my skin tone and reduce the rosy tones in my skin. A natural finish is of utmost importance.I am pretty fair (although not the fairest of the fair) and I use this in 10 Beige. I'm also 10 Beige in Vitalumiere Aqua - the colors match up. This foundation provides light to medium coverage (I like wearing it sheer) and is not drying at all. "Velvet" is a perfect descriptor for the finish. It is not dewy, but not matte and flat either. It does not settle into lines and wears well throughout the day. When it fades, it does so evenly and not in patches. It's nice on its own, but i love wearing Le Blanc de Chanel as a base under it, and I set it on my t-zone with MAC MSF or all over the face with an Hourglass Ambient Lighting powder for a subtle glow.I love this more than Vitalumiere Aqua, which I'm going to relegate to winter use. I'm really looking forward to using this through the summer. If you have similar skin concerns to me, I don't think you'd regret this purchase. « less" - Nordstrom user

Radiant Lifting Foundation by Shiseido

"I've found my new HG base in this product! I use this everyday and it has replaced my LM Oil-Free Tinted Moisturizer. I find that the finish is PERFECT. It's dewy and matte at the same time. Hard to describe but my friends have complimented me on the makeup and that it gives a dewy glow yet not oily looking. I also have worn this all night and never had to blot or powder. The LM TM looked good but it was on the shinier side and it required me to buff more into my face to blend. On the flip side, this is so easy to apply. I can apply it with my fingertips. It doesn't required extra buffing to blend in at all.I have #2 and it matches perfectly. From what I've read, even though there are only 3 shades - the shades are very forgiving. It is definitely buildable coverage and doesn't look cakey at all. Absolutely does not oxidize at all.Regarding the sun protection in this product. As a health care professional, I would recommend this to any patient. I prefer physical protectants versus chemical protectants such as avobenzene. It is much more stable and also better suited for sensitive skin since it just sits on top. This product contains titanium dioxide which falls into the physical category. This is also broad spectrum - UVA and UVB. I wanted to point this out since another reviewer that seems to be here to promote another brand made a claim that this is just a cheap sunscreen when it fact contains great ingredients.Overall - absolutely love. This is the first foundation/base I've purchased that makes me look forward to applying makeup. Also the first where I look forward to using it all up and buy MORE and MORE! « less" - Sephora user

Absolue Bx Radiant Replenishing Foundation by Lancôme

"I don't like to use foundation with sunscreen, so I had been using Teint Miracle but it filled every pore and even if I moisturized my face beforehand, it made my skin look dry. I realized that at 52 I need a foundation with a little more moisture. I tried this one and luckily the woman at the counter found my correct color; it makes my skin look stunning. I still need to be careful applying between the eyebrows--skin seems very dry there, but the color is perfect and my skin looks luminous and smooth wearing it. It's more expensive, but it looks really good on my skin. Just wish it didn't contain unnecessary sunscreen." - Macy's user

Age Defying Firming + Lifting Makeup by Revlon

"I'm 24 and recently I've been struggling with acne and acne marks worse than when I was a teenager, so I went into Ulta ready to spend tons of money on a great foundation. What I found was that almost all of the high-end foundations clung to the small, nearly-invisible dry patches on my face (mostly around spots that were healing). I have oily to combination skin, so this was really a surprise! I had been using Colorstay (Shades 150 or 180 in the "Oily" line) for a while, but the lack of a pump made using it a hassle and a mess! So I decided to try this on a BOGO while repurchasing Colorstay...and I ended up liking this even better. For comparison, it's thinner than Colorstay while giving comparable coverage. The consistency makes it easy to blend all over my face and then go back over problem areas with another layer of foundation to augment coverage; this way, it doesn't look like I'm wearing a mask. My skin has definitely been improving and I can leave the house with just a thin layer some days. For reference, I'm a 2.0-3.0 (winter-summer) in UD Naked and I wear 10-30 in this line. I recommend this to everyone I know and even got my mom hooked. A must try! « less" - ulta.com user

ColorStay Makeup for Normal/Dry Skin by Revlon

"I bought this in natural beige (I'm Greek venezuelan, so I'm a light olive, but with dark hair and eyes). The ONLY reason I bought this was because I was VERY desperate. I had NO money for makeup and my smash box BB cream (which I wear in light/neutral or light/medium) was basically dead. I have very dry, red, acne prone skin. My acne is getting better, it's mostly red and sorta pimply cheeks now. The smash box did a good job of mostly covering the acne, but I had to use a little bit of concealer for redness. So I had very low expectations for this. I am a totally name brand makeup snob. I can't remember the last time I bought drug store makeup. Probably in middle school. I had actually bought this foundation a long time ago, but it stank and felt tacky. I however ended up trying it again since it was so highly rated. Let me tell you, it will take a miracle foundation for me to start buy that expensive stuff again. It is the perfect amount of coverage for me, it's perfect for my dry skin, and it blends flawlessly (I use the benefit foundation brush). It looked too pink when I put it on my hand at first (I have a somewhat yellow undertone, so I use yellowish makeup), but it covered my redness really well and it looks so natural and feels weightless. I never write reviews but the moment I finished putting this on I was so impressed I sat down and immediately wrote this. This is an amazing foundation. My only con would be that this might be a little to hard for beginners to use. It's a thick liquid consistency, and it might dry too fast if you aren't good at blending. I really recommend using a foundation brush." - ulta user

Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation by L'Oreal

"God yes. If you're not aware of what Accutane is, it's a strong acne prescription drug that makes your skin extremely dry. It wasn't my first time taking accutane so I knew going into it what would happen to my skin. So I went to my local drug store and picked this one out-not knowing what I was getting into going into this. Ive never used a foundation by this brand but it was the only foundation that pretty heavily branded 'heavy glow', so I bought it (plus it was super cheap compared to others). Let me just say I never had high hopes for this foundation. I have an extremely hard time finding foundation that works for me and considering I was about to go through skin h*ll for the next 8 months I wasn't getting my hopes up. Long story short this foundation was a holy grail. I never once had any dry patches through a 12 or 15 hours I had this on. Occasionally if I knew I was touching my face a lot that day I'd have to quickly powder and blend my face some. that was really the only con. I applied beautifully and so smooth once you powder your face. My contour and highlight blended well with it and all in all Im super impressed. 2 months after I finished Accutane (finished my 3rd bottle) I ran out and didn't have time to go to the store and pick up more so I used some of my foundation I used before which was some high end pricey foundation. Lets just say I went through the day feeling like my face was the dessert, and looking so cakey. immediately that next morning I picked me up some more pro-glow. I will never go back to anything else and will honestly be devastated if they discontinue this. If you know you have dry skin or if you're on Accutane or some other skin solution that makes your skin dry PLEASE use this. I promise you'll never want to use anything else. This saved me from 8 months of h*ll because honestly I loved putting on my makeup knowing I was going to look glowey and flawless. « less" - ulta.com user

Les Beiges Healthy Glow Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 25 by Chanel

"I have tried a hundred foundations (MUFE, Charlotte tilbury, Giorgio Armani, Dior, elcie, Kevyn auction, MAC, Lancôme, Estée Lauder, benefit, too faced, tarte, la prairie, YSL, Tom Ford, the list goes on..) and I’m forever on the hunt for my forever foundation and this is the one! First. I frequently have a problem with color matching. I’m half white and half Japanese so it can be a little hard to match my sometimes sensitive skin. I got B20 and it is a PERFECT MATCH. I don’t think I’ve ever felt so confident wearing a foundation. It’s warm in undertone without making your skin look sallow and goes on like a dream. I use the Chanel sublimage la lotion supreme on cleansed skin and then follow with the Chanel solution 10 moisturizer that I was told can double as a primer. I let that sit for a bit and then apply the foundation and set it with the Le tient ultra tenue powder in the same shade. This foundation applies like a dream. I use a beauty blender because I’m lazy but do like to apply with a flat top brush, too. It’s buildable and goes on so smoothly. It doesn’t just sit on top of your skin either. It feels natural and lasts ALL day. I do tend to lean more full coverage and this definitely does that without looking cakey. I have never been excited to apply foundation but this one has changed my mind. I wasn’t going to go back to Chanel after hating the last foundation I was told to try (also an incorrect color match by the Chanel rep) but thought I’d give it one last try and I’m so happy with my purchase! My skin is normal but can get a little dry/oily depending on the season. It doesn’t accentuate my dry patches and the oily spots if I have any don’t cause the foundation to run or oxidize. This is the best foundation and it’s so underrated! Less" - Nordstrom user

True Skin Serum Foundation by ilia

"This foundation... oh my god. I was kind of hesitant paying such a heavy price tag for a product with no reviews and something I had not heard of but — you get what you pay for!So okay I have dry skin— sometimes I have patches depending on if I’ve over-exfoliated.Today I had a little boop-boop here and there and even ended up with a little facial bruising! Which—IMO was perfect for foundation testing if you ask me!I came home to this little gem waiting for me on the porch! (Come through flash overnight! ::Napoleon Dynamite upside down fist pump!::Between this foundation and the new LM concealer I’m freaking golden! Literally!(That came with today’s haul too and omg! Win!)It covered up the pin holes, bruising and didn’t cling to dry patches! It dried down (on me) to a really beautiful glowy not sweaty looking sheen! I was so shocked and in love I had to stop and boomerang to send it to my IMUDS so she could see for herself!I’ve been wearing it about 7 hours now; no touch ups and gym time later —and it’s like I just applied it! It hasn’t settled into lines, and still beautiful! It’s not full coverage by any means but it does cover up imperfections! Buildable for sure. I used a brush and went over that with a B.B.The other thing I want to mention is the shade. I have always had to mix more than one shade. I’m an odd mix of a Cherokee mom and Italian dad! I can never get a straight answer about my undertone — and I’ve been told “you’re like a dark light medium but not”. Okay thanks. So excited I was to be able to use just one shade! As of right now the only thing that can possibly turn me off about this product is if it breaks me out! (I am hesitant to write super review on a product I’ve only worn once tho.) Fingers crossed it doesn’t. If not — I’m going with “this is the best medium coverage foundation ive ever used!” I would absolutely recommend this to anyone that wants medium coverage buildable glow-worthy skin! « less" - Sephora user

Lingerie De Peau Natural Perfection Foundation SPF 20 by Guerlain

"I have tried a wide variety of high end foundations in my day. This foundation changed my makeup game. I will start off with the only two downfalls of this foundation, the colour range and the cost. I am pale, but not extremely, and so lucky that the lightest shade of this foundation matches my skin perfectly. This foundation is NOT full coverage, but has light-medium coverage that can be built up. I would not recommend buying this if you are looking for a more full coverage foundation as you will just end up using the foundation too quickly to justify the price. I am lucky to have clear skin and just need to cover up a little redness/even out my skin tone. I use about 1/2-1 pump daily and I expect it to last me around 10 months- a year. I unfortunately cant see the remaining amount, but its been going strong for over 8 months now, so its high price tag doesn't bother me. I love this product so much that I already have a back up, my first time repeat buying a foundation and I wont be trying any other formulas as long as this is around. Now for the many many pros. I can use this foundation in the same shade all year round, since it is not too heavy I feel like it easily blends in with my skin tone- even when I am darker with a tan it still matches perfectly. I get a medium coverage from this foundation by buffing it in with a foundation brush in the winter to cover any redness, then during summer with a tan & more even skin tone It can be applied with a beauty blender for lighter coverage & a more sheer look. This foundation does not oxidize, crease, dry out, become greasy looking or separate on my face all day. I am lucky to have a normal skin type, more on the slightly oily side if anything and I do not need to blot or re-apply all day if my makeup is properly set (not sure if this would be the same in the case of a more oily skin complexion). In the winter this foundation does not stick to the odd dry patch I have, and I have heard that this foundation also works amazingly for people with extreamly dry skin. The people saying that this foundation is not long lasting probably just aren't prepping/setting their faces right, because this foundation lasts on my face all day without having to touch up and doesn't transfer onto any items that touch my face, I work two jobs, as a hygienist with a mask on, and as a server where I run around becoming sweaty for up to 12 hours at a time, and I think my face still looks pretty darn good at the end of a long day. Did I mention this foundation also has SPF 30 in it? I am only 25 years old and have always had fairly clear/tight skin so have not noticed a difference there, but have read many reviews that say this foundation also has firming/lifting & skincare properties, which also attributes to its price. I apologize for the novel review, but when online shopping for makeup I rely heavily on reading reviews. I first bought this on a whim and I am so happy I tried it! I hope this helps explain the high price tag and many benefits of this wonderful foundation :) « less" - Sephora user

Moisture-Rich Radiance Sunscreen Fluid Makeup by Chanel

"Chanel's Vitalumiere foundation is a wonderful choice if you are looking for a fairly sheer, natural-looking foundation with a hint of dewiness. The formula itself is very thin, which sometimes makes blending tricky, but with a good foundation brush it's a fantastic, very wearable foundation. It doesn't have a strong fragrance to it and it doesn't oxidize on my skin. Although it has a dewy finish, it can be topped with loose powder for a more matte effect, and the powder helps it last longer. I have had issues with the foundation not lasting throughout an entire day. It seems that sometimes it seems to sink into the skin a little too much, and by the end of the day there's little to nothing left of it. If you need moderate to heavy coverage, this is NOT the foundation for you. It may also not be the best for oilier skin types, as it feels very moisturizing and does give the dewy look, but if you have drier skin and like lightweight, natural coverage, this is definitely a good choice. I keep Vitalumiere in my rotation for those "good skin" days when I don't need the mask effect, or for days when my skin feels a bit drier than usual. Especially for winter, it's a great choice! « less" - Fishpond.com.au user

Rainforest Of The Sea Water Foundation SPF 15 by Tarte

"A couple weeks ago I dragged my boyfriend with me to Sephora to go on my monthly makeup binge. I had been sticking with the same foundation for quite a long time, but had been doing some research on which brand of foundation would be the right choice for me. My skin isn’t too fond of a lot of products, so I had to pick wisely. I was familiar with the brand Tarte, as I absolutely love their eyeshadow palettes. I usually stay in my comfort zone (which tends to be all over the place, go figure. ), but I had been having some problems with my previous foundation. So, I decided to just go for it and buy the product. To my absolute surprise, it ended up being exactly what I was looking for.CUSTOMER SERVICEGenerally, I tend to be a very shy person and feel nervous about asking anybody for help. I’m a makeup enthusiast but not a professional, so sometimes I need help to find which product is the best choice. I know that many feel uncomfortable and almost intimidated by employees and don’t want to sound uneducated when asking about what a product does or even what a product is. Whenever I come into Sephora, employees almost always run up to me and greet me. Not only do they make you feel invited, but also they immediately try to help you figure out what you need. I’ve been to other makeup stores and employees act snooty or don’t even care to try to help. Or, when some employees from other stores try to help you, they don’t look at it through the customer’s eyes and select the product that would look best on them instead of the customer. The closest Sephora to me is about an hour commute to, so customer service is key when it comes to helping a customer find out which shade or product is the best for them. Overall, I couldn’t be more pleased with the way Sephora’s employees have helped me and treated me throughout the years.FORMULAThe formula and ingredients in any makeup will make or break your skin in the end. I’ve tried foundations from high end to drugstore that will look great in the day, but after use, will totally wreck my skin with acne and blackheads. My skin is super sensitive, so the hypoallergenic formula works absolute wonders for me. I’ve spent so long searching for a foundation or daily wear. The water-based formula has left my skin feeling smooth and looking fresh. I also have combination skin so sometimes my skin is too dry, oily, blotchy, or red so I also have a hard time finding a foundation that fits my skin. This foundation seems to work with any type of skin and diminishes any dark spots and redness I have on my face. This cruelty, paraben, and phthalate free foundation has done nothing but relieved my search for something that works for me.HOW IT FEELSThis foundation is so lightweight but yet STILL covers every blemish. It works amazing with other products and is absolutely seamless. Foundations seem to crease or not fully seep into your skin even with a primer. This product, with or without a primer makes skin look absolutely flawless. It has always been difficult for me to find a foundation that matches my skin tone because I am always between shades. When I found out that they just had 21 shades, I was kind of nervous. But when I received help from a worker, she found more than one shade that worked for my skin and I was so relieved! This foundation is extremely versatile for different skin types.WEARABILITYBecause I work in the food department, a lot of times I find myself at work worried whether I’m sweating through my foundation or if it’s rubbed off. I would say this product is for customers that are active in their daily lives. This foundation definitely lives up to its 12 hours. Most foundations I’ve bought tend to get cakey after a few hours of wear; they either turn your skin patchy or product is just lost throughout the day. The number one problem that I’ve had with foundation wear is when it transfers onto your clothes or even somebody else’s. Probably one of the most annoying things when it comes to makeup wear in general. Thankfully, I don’t have this problem now thanks to this product!I have been applying full-face makeup almost daily for around 6 years and I have tried everything from, above, and between high end and drugstore products. I feel as if my struggle of finding beautiful skin has been lifted off of my shoulders and I couldn’t be more pleased with Tarte. I would definitely recommend it to anyone, and will for sure be making another purchase. Less" - tartecosmetics.com user

Redness Solutions Makeup Foundation with Probiotic Technology by Clinique

"Background: I have acne-prone, Asian light-medium with warm tones, combo-oily skin with medium size pores and some hyperpigmentation. This did not break me out. Shade: 3/5. Not a fan of the selection of shades. I settled on Neutral, which (thank god) makes my skin a teensy bit darker but overall works (it makes me look healthy, rather than washed out) Packaging: 5/5! Definitely is hygienic, there's a dropper-like opening at the top of the tube that allows consistent dispensing of the foundation without allowing bacteria or other stuff to get inside easily. Very nice when compared with other foundations with pour-out hole openings Application: 4/5. I use my fingers, rather than a brush. 3 dots on each cheek, 2 on my forehead, 2 on nose, and 2 on chin, then I blend everything out. Takes me about 30 seconds, muchh faster than when I used mineral makeup. This is smooth and dries quickly, and doesn't rub off that easily. Coverage is medium, but can be built on to add more coverage. In fact, I dab a few more dots of this as a concealer for my trouble spots. Sunscreen coverage: this has spf 15, which is an OK amount but I live in sunny California so I use another SPF 30 (or more depending on the day) sunscreen before this Redness reducing claim: Clinique claims that over time, this will actually help minimize redness on the skin. Well, I've used it for approximately one month now and can testify that that is TRUE. It's amazing, I know. I couldn't believe it myself, but my skin truly looks less red and flushed (I break out easily and always had troubled flushed skin). Overall: Highly recommended if you suffer from facial redness (acne, rosacea, or eczema). « less" - viewpoints.com user

Dermablend Corrective Fluid Foundation 16HR by vichy

"What can I say? After planning to get married in may and wanting to do my own make up (various reasons mostly that I'm a control freak) the search began for a foundation that matched my skin tone, stayed on all day, stayed flawless all day and had an excellent coverage. I tried big brands, and none of them impressed me at all. Whether within hours I looked like I hadn't bothered with make up or whether it oxidised so much during the day I looked like an oompah loompah. The worst was one that didn't even attempt to hide a dark circle- a must if you're a mum to an 18 month old that thinks sleeping is for the dead. So after lots of research, and a Google search for 'full coverage foundation' up popped vichy derma blend. Described as giving excellent coverage with a natural looking finish that stayed put all day. Even over the Christmas period look fantastic got it to me within like 3 days- free delivery- I was one happy little Christmas elf! I couldn't wait to put it on and as soon as I did. I was blown away. Throughout the day it didn't crease, it didn't falter and my face didn't slide halfway off- it even survived an afternoon nap! I was so impressed I came back and bought another one. My skin doesn't feel heavy or gross or full of product. It looks like my skin- just flawless. You barely need any concealer-literally just under my eyes these days and it blends so easily. I couldn't be more impressed and I couldn't be more in love with this product. Infact my hairdresser and best friend just placed an order and I was told I was the goddess of makeup when they tried it so there you go. 3 happy loyal ladies to you now. Considering it's half the price of its competitors and doesn't clog your skin like the others I think I've found my holy grail product. A very happy, very flawless looking bride to be! « less" - lookfantastic.com user

Line Smoothing Liquid Makeup by Almay

"I just love this stuff. Bought on vacation as I needed something. It is very natural looking, does not feel like a foundation, more like a tinted moisturizer but dries with a silky velvet texture. I do not need powder over this to set it; it sets and dries on its own (hate powder) and lasts all day long. I usually use a TM and am finding those to be too thick these days and goopy. This provides just enough coverage to make me feel "done". For those with dry skin that want a light to medium coverage - doubt it will work with oily skin. Only bad thing I can say (and I have tried so many foundations - hated them all), is that the bottle cap is horrible. Wish it came in a tube or pump to keep it sanitary and not spill. This is the "old style" glass packaging for a foundation, and its a "new style" skin finish style foundation so Almay needs to get with the program. Also has a light smell and wish it had no smell but it is not too overpowering. If this continues to work, I will be thrilled as I am now spending $55 on the same amount of foundation (high end stuff) and this is nicer, better overall color, finish, texture, etc. « less" - drugstore.com user

Super City Block Oil-Free Daily Face Protector Broad Spectrum by Clinique

"I have very fair skin and this product protects it very well. If I go out in the sun without it, I will literally get a burn and freckles within 15 minutes. I don't find it funny, however friends and family laugh at this. I've always been the fairest in my entire extended family, and would burn and blister, but as a child in the 70s sunscreen was not the thing. I've worn this for 20 years. At first they only had the 15 spf , then had a 25 which is now 40 - thank you! I used to have oily skin so I wouldn't wear it with moisturizer. Now I'm over 50 and I do usually wear some moisturizer with it, but mainly because the moisturizer is a primer and pore reducer, but don't need to as this definitely has some moisturizing capabilities. I ran out of City Block for a week a few months ago and used another more expensive and more natural product, but found it to be drying and cakey, but a very good product. I started to look older I swear and saw wrinkles starting to develop. I couldn't wait to receive my shipment of this. When people learn my age they are surprised, or don't believe me. I had to get help with my passport while in London recently and when I told them my birth date, they made me repeat the date with a look of disbelief and told me I don't look that age. I do get carded sometimes, but I was told recently that I look 35, although last night someone said I look 30, but I think this is an exaggeration. I use a lot of cosmetics, but I'm telling you that this is the ONLY cosmetic I've used consistently for so long without changing brands. I'm religious about putting this on. I do so every single morning, and if I do go out mid-day I try to put a bit more on. City Block doesn't absorb right away, so I apply, and then after 1-2 minutes apply other cosmetics. Sometimes I put moisturizer first and sometimes after. I'm not sure of the proper order. But either way seems fine. The reason I started to use it ,and continued to use it for so long is that it was the only one I had found the didn't sting my eyes, didn't have fragrance, and that I didn't develop an allergy to. My eyes are extremely sensitive to almost all cosmetics and skin care products. Prior to this I had used and tried several different sunscreens, but eventually I developed an allergy to all the others. <span class="shop__a pd-reviews__translate-span">« less</span>" - Sephora user

Re-Nutriv Ultra Radiance Makeup SPF 15 by Estée Lauder

"I absolutely 😍 this foundation. I have been using it for a few months now and I swear it made my skin feel and look better. It is a pricier foundation, but totally worth every penny in my opinion. You do not need to use a lot of it and one bottle lasted me 3 1/2 months. I recently ran out so I have to wait until Thursday to get a new bottle, so I am using some Channel foundation I had. I used to think Channel was the holy grail of make-up, but the Estée Lauder Re-Nutriv is close to perfect as foundation can get. It does not settle into lines, it stays on all day and you can not feel it on at all. Another plus I noticed on my skin a month after using was how my skin became more radiant looking. I also noticed that fine lines around my eye and mouth area were reduced by at least 50%. Yet, another plus are how my cheeks do not have a bumpy appearance to them, because the foundation does not settle on the skin in a cake-like way. I wear the pebble color and apply it with a moist make-up sponge. I found it is a little less expensive to get it online. Estée Lauder online also has some pretty nice make-up sets you can purchase at a discounted price. I Includes my picture that I took with my phones camera a couple weeks ago. I did not use any filters to enhance my face in any way, just facing the sun. This picture was taken after wearing the foundation for 6 hours on my face with no re-apply. Less" - esteelauder.ch user

Oxygenating Foundation by Oxygenetix

"I read about this product in a magazine and took a gamble that the taupe shade would work on my skin. I absolutely love it! I dot one pump over my face and blend with a foundation brush. It offers light coverage which can be layered for additional coverage. I add a dusting of mineral powder to set and remove shine. It feels very light on the skin and doesn't melt in the Texas heat. My skin looks like great skin, not like skin wearing foundation. " - dermstore user

All Hours Foundation by YSL Beauty

"After failing with 7 other foundations I found completeness with this one. I should have come to YSL at the beginning of my journey toward non-cakey, full coverage, long-lasting-without-breaking down-or-separating coverage. They provided long-lasting liquid lipstick years before it was mainstream. I have always trusted their color, I should have trusted their base.I have battled redness since I was 12 so a full coverage foundation is a requirement for me. I exfoliate 3 times per week, so I'm certainly not putting obstacles in front of foundations. Many foundations claim to last for hours without breaking down but this is the only one that has fulfilled that claim, for me. Typically, I apply this between 7:30 and 8am and I don't take it off before 9pm. All Hours covers my redness, my pores, and evens my skin tone beautifully (I have experienced only one other foundation which does those three for me but it does not last half the time of the YSL All Hours). I use setting powder after applying this, therefore I do not touch up throughout the day. It does not dry out my skin, but I have mildly oily skin so I wouldn't expect it to.If you are looking for the perfect full coverage foundation that doesn't look like old school stage "cake" makeup, I encourage you to try this. I don't look as though I'm wearing a heavy layering of foundation with this. Actually, I apply just one layer and that one layer is my miracle. If you have oily skin or redness, like me... Apply your moisturizer, serums, etc. 20-30 minutes before All Hours (this gives your skin time to drink it in). Blot your face with tissue or blotting paper before applying All Hours. I apply this foundation with a super soft round "airbrush" foundation brush. I pump the foundation on the back of my hand, swirl the brush in a little, tap around on the area to be covered, then swirl to blend and cover. I do this to the center of my face, then each cheek. Then I set lightly with powder. I know experts say to stay away from brushes if you have redness, but a soft brush doesn't agitate. I used a beauty blender for years but threw it out last spring when I realized it was adding to the cakey uneven texture of my foundation, no matter how wet or dry, how much or how little I applied. « less" - Yves Saint Laurent user

Prevage Anti Aging Foundation by Elizabeth Arden

"I have serious skin problems and usually react to just about everything. This foundation went on like silk, an absolute dream, the texture is lightweight and the coverage was exceptionally good for my redness (as it is buildable). I have dry patches and this just quenched those areas and made me look dewy. I feel radiant and I will not be returning to any other products I have used, this is for me, plus it protects from the suns dangers and has incredible ingredients. I usually use high intensity camouflage make-up such as Dermablend by Vichy and this has knocked it out of the park. I honestly cannot say enough. I have felt some soothing to my face after just one day and cannot wait to see more. Brilliant! I would pay the full price for this, it also out does Yves Saint Laurents famous foundation. Honestly, give it a go! If it doesn't cover first time, build it a little with a blotting technique, you will love it. Less" - very.co.uk user

Synchro Skin Glow Luminizing Fluid Foundation SPF 20 by Shiseido

"I never write foundation reviews, because I never like one enough. I'm not some die-hard Shiseido fan either; I keep trying different foundations as I'm a cosmetic junkie. And I've tried many, from drugstore to high-end (Armani, Chanel, Dior, Guerlain, YSL, etc.) to Japanese & Korean brands. I almost never empty a bottle. Yet, this is currently the first foundation I keep going back to - when I want to look good and healthy. It's not a full coverage foundation, so those with more skin issues/who like full coverage may not find this covers enough. This foundation has a light, watery consistency and dewy finish - almost like you're not wearing makeup. I like natural makeup, so that's what I'm looking for, and 1 push with this pump is almost too much (I feel like I'm wasting the product - but for a normal person it's probably a good amount). I buff it out with a dense brush, like one from Artis or Shiseido, and it doesn't sit in my pores - it looks very smooth. If you want to know how natural it looks: My dermatologist had to ask if I'm wearing any makeup. I use it with Honest Beauty Everything Primer (pore-blurring ones with silica didn't work too well); that seems to work best so far. I tried it with one of the Japanese Shiseido primers, and oddly enough, it didn't seem as compatible. I'm an Asian with not too much yellow undertone, MAC NC20/021 in Dior, and N2 works well. At the end of the day my nose gets slightly shiny, but nothing a sheet of tissue/blotting paper can't fix. I'd take that over dryness any day. My cheeks tend to be on the slightly dry side, so this may not be best fit for oily skin. The only fault I find with this foundation is that it has slight fragrance - it's a known skin irritant, and I could have done without. (It's not too overpowering.) Other than that, if I were having my wedding today, this would be the foundation I'd wear. <span class="shop__a pd-reviews__translate-span">« less</span>" - Nordstrom user

Healthy Skin Liquid Makeup by Neutrogena

"My skin has always been dry and acne prone, yet oily on my nose and forehead. For the longest time, I have used acne medications, and fortunately, most of my acne is gone, but my skin is still sensitive and breaks out if I don't maintain my skin care routine daily. I have been using Neutrogena's skin-clearing liquid foundation, which has worked fairly well for me, but lately, my skin has looked dull because of the salicylic acid's drying affect on my skin. So, since Neutrogena has never let me down yet, I might try another of their liquid foundations to try and solve my dry skin problems. After searching and searching and looking through about 100 reviews, I decided on buying this foundation the next time I went to the store. The next day, I eagerly cleansed, medicated, and moisturized my face, and put this foundation on next. INSTANTLY, I noticed a difference in the way my face looked...I looked radiant, glowing, flawless, hydrated, and incandescent...and yet, I felt like I wasn't even wearing makeup! In fact, it didn't even look like I was wearing makeup, but that I had a naturally perfect complexion and had merely moisturized my face thoroughly. My acne scars were covered nicely without looking cakey, and my skin felt silky soft and smooth while wearing the makeup, and after taking it off. Having had a typically dull and matte face all the time, I was in awe of seeing my face have a healthy shine that didn't look greasy, even on the oily parts of my face. I've been using it for only a week now, and have even gone biking in the heat while wearing this foundation, and I am pleased to say that I have not had a single breakout or redness from sensitivity from wearing this foundation. The fact that it has added SPF is an added bonus, since I can't normally wear sunscreen without looking greasy. Thank you, Neutrogena! <span class="shop__a pd-reviews__expand-link pd-reviews__translate-span" data-hide="9056083768248251275-full" data-show="9056083768248251275-short" jsaction="pdui.tvc">« less</span>" - Neutrogena user

Wake&Make-Up SPF 15 by Dermacol

"It provides great cover for age spots, pigmentation, melasma and any kind of skin discolouration. This particular shade is just right for my skin (warm olive) and a tiny bit goes a long way. I apply it with a small brush only on the discoloured areas and sheer it with a beauty blender. Then I add a bit of powder to set it and it stays put for hours. Great product! " - justmylook.com user

Advanced Hydro Liquid Foundation by Shiseido

"I almost never write reviews, but I love this foundation enough to do it! I've been wearing it for at least 3 years. I've tried others from time to time to see if there's something better, some less expensive, some more expensive, some even from Shiseido. I doubt I'll ever bother with that again, because there just isn't anything better out there. I put a little water on the sponge if I want extra sheer coverage, but even without that its never thick, heavy or cakey in feel or look. I have slight rosaeca/broken capellieries and it smooths that out like they don't even exist, with very little coverage, and goes on like a dream in only a few seconds (I have no patience for spending more than 5 minutes on make-up in the morning). Luminous but not shiney. Stays on all day, but super fast/easy to remove. I use 040 and it is a PERFECT match for my pale but slightly olive skin (w slight redness), and I mean literally a perfect match. I get compliments on my skin ALL the time since wearing this, and people are often surpised at my age. The age thing could be genetics, but I'd bet this make up is at LEAST partially responsible. Again, dewey and luminous but somehow not shiny. How do they do that? Seriously, this is the best stuff ever. In every way. I will never wear anything else, I just hope they never stop making it. It's PERFECT! <span class="shop__a pd-reviews__translate-span">« less</span>" - Macy's user

Photogenic Lumessence SPF 15 Foundation by Lancôme

"Now that I'm 47 1/2....I've been seeing more signs of aging lately.... and more and more products are just settling into my pores and wrinkles and emphasizing them. Ugh. Until the past few months, people used to think I was 10 years younger than I was, but recent stress has sped up the aging process for me, so it appears. Anyway, I was about to give up on having great-looking skin ever again until I found this foundation. But WOW, this foundation has virtually turned back the clock and makes my face look 10 years younger (once again, yay!). With this foundation, my face looks MUCH more luminous and healthy, and it does NOT settle into pores or wrinkles. This foundation so far is actually improving my large forehead wrinkle quite a bit. (I've only used this for about a week and a half so far.) Also this foundation has good coverage but doesn't look phony or cakey. I absolutely LOVE this stuff!!! Pricey but absolutely worth it! Less" - Macy's user

Lift Lumiere Firming And Smoothing Sunscreen Fluid by Chanel

"I am always open to finding the "something better" when it comes to skin care and makeup. I am not a spring chicken anymore, but I still have a lot of enthusiasm and zest for life. I want my makeup to make the best of what I have (or...what I have left :-) )CHANEL's LIFT LUMIERE is that kind of find. I am very picky about what I put on my face, and particularly fussing about foundation, which makes or breaks your overall look. I have very dry skin and aging doesn't improve that! This foundation is marvelous. It is a creamy, lotion formula and it goes on smoothly and covers beautifully. You can apply a thin coat first, then assess the overall look, and apply more where you might need it. For me, it's usually under eyes and along the sides of my nose, which took a lot of sun damage while I grew up on the beach. That sun damage creates little spots of darker color there. Lift Lumiere can be layered and built upon so you can really cover those pesky areas that need more. What I like BEST about LIFT LUMIERE is that it just does not sink into my tiny wrinkles and crevices; It magically blends them down and does not gather into them. Amazing.I highly recommend this foundation: delicious texture, beautiful coverage. « less" - Nordstrom user

Coverage Foundation by the ordinary

"I meant to order the serum foundation! So when this arrived and I tried it I was shocked by the coverage - I don't like high coverage foundation but I really like this! I would say the coverage is medium/medium-full but super buildable! I don't conceal when I use this because it's so good at covering! My only negative is I don't like how this settles under my eyes - but I haven't used a face primer in years and I've bought one to try out with this! Hopefully that fixes the issue. I'll update that on my review of the serum foundation (as i've bought the intended one!) because I won't wear this high coverage every day! You really do not need a lot of this stuff if you're going for a sheer-medium coverage (half a pump!) but a 1 1/2 pumps should be enough for a medium to medium full coverage and anything on top would be full coverage for sure! Also the shade range is super impressive! I think this shade matches my neck (which I've never found a shade light enough to do so!) But it might even be too light! I really love this foundation!" - beautybay user

Capture Totale Foundation by Dior

"I have combo, sensitive skin prone to redness, and sadly in the winter time my skin gets extra dry around certain areas like my mouth and forehead. I am NC20 skintone and I got the color 021 and it matched me perfectly. I used to use the Dior Nudeskin and 021 was my color in that range as well. As Ive been gearing up for spring, I ended up with a horrid allergic reaction courtesy of BareMinerals. My entire face was bumpy, irritated, itchy, and dry like Saharan sandpaper. It would drink up moisturizer within minutes(!) and I had to keep reapplying to keep my face from feeling too taut and uncomfortable. Even though La Mer moisturizer offered me the most relief, it was still temporary and I needed reapplication throughout the day. Yes, it was that bad. Anyway, I purchased this because I was looking for a foundation that I could use during situations like this when my skin needs something extra loving and supportive; something gentle that performs in a skin-like way when applied, with specific anti-aging properties. The dryness made me worried I would form wrinkles from this experience because my skin was so dry, rough and taut... so anti-aging properties were important. I had purchased the Dior cushion foundation and since I had such great response with the Capture Totale/Dreamskin serum ingredient, I did not hesitate to purchase this. I am so happy to report that this foundation was a Godsend for what I needed. It kept my skin calm(amazingly, because my skin has been screaming in exclamation points for the last week), didnt accentuate any dry spots or (potential) wrinkles, was gentle, and just made me feel like I had normal skin on my face again. Yes my skin was still dry but this foundation did not let it get any worse than it already was all day, which is a feat unto itself. On normal skin I would imagine this would lend youthful glow and balance all day, which I am a huge fan of as it is. I found this foundation buildable and look very skin-like and real. If you have mature and or sensitive skin that needs a soothing foundation, I highly highly recommend this. <span class="shop__a pd-reviews__translate-span">« less</span>" - Sephora user

Synchro Skin Self-Refreshing Foundation SPF 30 by Shiseido

"One of the best foundations Ive tried! It took me a while to review this because I wanted to test this for a couple of weeks before I give it a verdict. However, on first application, I had already fallen in love! The Shiseido Synchro Skin Self-Refreshing Foundation is a liquid foundation with medium coverage, so it works well at concealing most dark spots and acne. Upon application, the product sinks right into my skin, very reflective of its collection name, Synchro Skin, as the product really does feel as if its synchronizing into one with your skin, instead of feeling like an extra layer sitting on top of your skin surface. I like to apply and blend with a brush or my fingers for better blending. I use this along with their concealer (also a part of the same collection), and it looks like I have no foundation on! Its a very light weight product but very good coverage. The finish is smooth and keeps my skin looking hydrated, but not greasy. This is the holy grail of all foundations. I got this in the shade 250 Sand, and the shade match is OK, but I think I couldve went lighter.Next, lets talk SPF. Sun protection is crucial to me I apply sunscreen daily to protect from my skin sun damage, which is a top factor in wrinkles and skin aging. I love how this foundation is infused with SPF 30, so I do not need to apply sunscreen as an extra step to my makeup routine in the morning. It definitely saves me time, and money to use a 2-in-1 product.Price: I understand $47 for a foundation is steep for some consumers, especially those who purchase drugstore cosmetics. However, I think the price is decent, especially for a prestigious brand like Shiseido. Ive spent more on a bottle of foundation before, and quality wasnt as great as this one.Packaging: Anybody else obsessed with packaging? I am a sucker for buying products with pretty packaging. Give me good packaging and Im more willing to purchase than if I see a product with cheap packaging. I love how Shiseido kept the packaging simple but still chic. It gives off a luxury look. I am also grateful for the turn-and-lock technique for the container, so it is pretty much leak-proof if you carry it in your bag. Also, I love the pump for easy access and application, but I wish the pump was bigger.Brand: Shiseido has been one of the longest standing cosmetics brands in the world. Last year, Shiseido relaunched their makeup line. The Japanese brand is well-known for their skin care products, so I knew their makeup line wouldnt be any short of perfection as well. This Synchro Skin Self-Refreshing foundation is part of their new Synchro Skin collection launch. Fun fact: The shade names are all inspired by Ki, which is the Japanese concept of life force energy found in both animate and inanimate objects. Each shade references a material commonly found in nature, architecture, or design throughout Japan.Overall, I cannot recommend a better foundation if youre in the $30+ budget range on a foundation. My friend also purchased this foundation and she could not stop raving about it! And she has tried many luxury foundations like Armani, Givenchy, etc. Less" - shiseido.com user

Photo Perfexion Fluid Foundation SPF 20 - PA+++ by Givenchy

"I don't have the greatest skin: my facial complexion is prone to breakouts and congestion, is on the drier side, and can be sallow and more red than the skin on my neck. I also live in a humid area, so foundations have the potential to become shiny oil-slicks on my face if I'm not careful. My skin is pretty pale with neutral undertones on top of this, so it can be tricky to find foundations which are light enough to suit me and won't oxidize into an orange mask. Since my makeup routine includes other products like sunscreen, concealer, and powder, what I look for in a foundation specifically is a decent light-to-medium coverage without being full and cakey, a color that matches my neck and has some sallow and redness-correcting properties, a formulation that won't break me out, and has a finish that is close to natural and will stay put for a decent length of time without disappearing, caking, or oxidizing drastically. Personally, I think this is a lovely foundation. It has a really nice, light texture that's easy to apply with my foundation brush, and it has buildable coverage -- I'd say from light to medium on problem skin, without concealer. This foundation does not immediately sink in and accentuate my uneven skin texture or dryness. The most amazing thing about it, though, is how it helps erase my shadows and sallowness. For those with hereditary dark undereye circles and other darker patches of the face, you might need a little bit of concealer on top of this, but when it comes to the unevenness stemming from a lack of sleep or being tired, this Givenchy foundation REALLY helps. Again, for zits and lots of concentrated redness, you'll need extra concealing if you want it hidden. If I have to wear this for several hours, it does not cake too much around my nose and other dry areas -- it will "sink" a little after a while, but not as much as other foundations I have used. The little bit of oil that seeps through on my skin after a long day does not render this foundation gross, but actually works well with this formulation. If my skin texture is more uneven that day, I will still want to blot after a while as to not draw attention to bumps, but on clearer days, the finish becomes almost dewy (but will still lightly sink in around my nose). If I'm having a really bad skin day, where I have terrible breakouts or lots of redness all over, I'll forgo this foundation and use another that's more full-coverage, even though full-coverage isn't my favorite; I'm not sure this one is quite capable of handling intense redness. Also, this foundation DOES oxidize a little, but not so much where I look orange. However, it's something to keep in mind when choosing a color. Ultimately, I really like this foundation and will probably purchase it again in the future. <span class="shop__a pd-reviews__expand-link pd-reviews__translate-span" data-hide="-6869702554061535462-full" data-show="-6869702554061535462-short" jsaction="pdui.tvc">« less</span>" - Sephora user
