Skin Fetish Sublime Perfection Foundation by Pat McGrath Labs

"Honestly? I wasn't that excited when I heard Pat McGrath was releasing a foundation. There are so many formulas, techniques, and types of foundation that I didn't think it was possible to create something truly unique, as far as foundations go.I was wrong.I will never doubt again.Ok, let's get the basics out of the way. All the claims in the description are true; it starts as sheer and builds to medium coverage easily, is self-setting and a satin finish. But let's talk about why this is so unique. This is hands-down the best self-setting formula I've ever experienced. This foundation truly sinks into the skin, to the point where I can't tell that there's makeup on my face with sheer-to-light layers, yet my skin looks...perfect. Seriously, it just looks like I have the best skin of my life, but feels like nothing is on my skin. Even when building up to medium coverage, I can tell that it's there, but is so much lighter than other medium coverage foundations I have. The satin finish is also stunning. It does dry down a little more matte than I would prefer, but it appears dewy when the light catches it. When I wear this sheer, I don't mind the finish, but when I build it up I make sure to use a good amount of dewy setting spray.Of course the packaging is spectacular as well - it fits in perfectly with the 80s high fashion aesthetic of her Instagram.Overall, I would think of this as the most perfecting BB or CC cream you've ever seen, with the optional coverage of a foundation. It's an absolutely gorgeous, weightless formula that truly makes my skin look incredible.I received this foundation complimentary for testing purposes, but am already going to repurchase at full price, because the shade I was sent is just a hair too light for me! « less" - patmcgrath.com user

Pro Longwear Foundation by MAC

"For the past year and half I have been on the hunt for a foundation that meets all of my needs - great color match (that doesn't oxidize), long-wearing, weightless and keeps my combo/oily skin under control (without looking matte/flat). It's a lot to ask of ONE product so I was beginning to give up...until I tried MAC's PLW foundation! O-M-G! I apply the foundation around 6:30am and don't get home until 7pm, and my face still looks great! No powder touch-ups, MAYBE blotting with a blotting sheet mid-day, but other than that, the minimal amt of oil that comes through makes it look super natural (I wouldn't even call it dewey). I'll only touch up with powder if I'm going out after work and want to look extra polished. This baby has met and exceeded all of my expections! A definite must-try! (BTW - I don't have sensitive skin so I can't speak to whether it would be good for those who do break out from certain ingredients). In terms of my shade and application method: I'm currently darker than normal, so I'm wearing NC44 but think I'll have to get NC42 and mix it come winter. Or I might try to mix it with the PLW concealer that I have in NC35. I use a flat top kabuki brush to apply and have been meaning to try it with my BB sponge. I moisturize with a yellow moisturizing gel (from a mid-price skincare line that starts with C and has a Q in it LOL), prime with MAC's Natural Radiance in yellow and set with MSFN in Medium Tan (thank you for this new color BTW! Love it!). I pair with the PLW concealer in NW30 for underneath my eyes (also lasts all day), and set the undereye with MAC'S translucent pressed powder. Hope this helps! #peace <span class="shop__a pd-reviews__translate-span">« less</span>" - M·A·C user

The Healthy Foundation SPF 20 by Physicians Formula

"I've tried a few foundations from physician's formula that have actually been amazing (youthful wear, argan wear bb cream) but the shade range has been so bad that I could only use these if I have a tan. This one really surprised me with the shade range, the quality of the product and the packaging. I got the shade LW2 (the lightest warm shade) and it is a perfect match. For reference, I am close to the shade 120 Buff in Almay's Best Blend Forever foundation. I didn't notice any oxidation with this foundation. It has a medium coverage - but it looks smooth and flawless. it also doesn't pick up on any of my dry patches, or break up on me throughout the day as most foundations do. I apply this with a real techniques blending sponge (which is my preferred method with every foundation). It has a natural finish - I don't feel like I need to set it on my combo skin. Lastly, I wish this would have a higher SPF or no SPF at all. SPF 20 isn't enough for me to wear this without any other sun protection, and it may cause flashback. I have not tested it for flashback yet so I do not know if that will occur. As for the packaging, I personally love the large doe foot applicator. It's so easy to apply the perfect amount every time. I wish the bottle was plastic, not glass though. It feels very luxurious but I'm afraid I will break it if it drops.I received this product at a discounted price in return for my unbiased review. « less" - walmart.com user

Fresh Air Makeup Base by Estée Lauder

"I think spf in cosmetics causes me to break out and gives me milia so I try to avoid it whenever possible. I decided to try this foundation because it was one of the few I could find without spf. It still has the titanium dioxide which helps to shield the skin but does not have that heavy spf to it which I believe clogs my pores. The color of this foundation is beautiful. The linen beige is actually natural and not orange at all.Estee Lauder knows how to make natural skin tone shades. My skin feels so nice and smooth when Im wearing it also. Its very natural. Its not cakey or flaky which many cheap brands of foundation are. I think it seems to cover my pores better than some of the popular high end full coverage foundations I've tried. If I use alittle foundation primer first in the t zone area before applying this the pores disappear completely. I use a foundation brush to apply mine which really helps to blend it. Oh and it also washes off easily at the end of the day! Very important if you do not want to breakout.Overall Im very happy with my purchase and will be repurchasing most likely and discontinuing use of the other foundations I own. <span class="shop__a pd-reviews__expand-link pd-reviews__translate-span" data-hide="5183191712971304400-full" data-show="5183191712971304400-short" jsaction="pdui.tvc">« less</span>" - Estée Lauder user

Absolue Bx Radiant Replenishing Foundation by Lancôme

"I don't like to use foundation with sunscreen, so I had been using Teint Miracle but it filled every pore and even if I moisturized my face beforehand, it made my skin look dry. I realized that at 52 I need a foundation with a little more moisture. I tried this one and luckily the woman at the counter found my correct color; it makes my skin look stunning. I still need to be careful applying between the eyebrows--skin seems very dry there, but the color is perfect and my skin looks luminous and smooth wearing it. It's more expensive, but it looks really good on my skin. Just wish it didn't contain unnecessary sunscreen." - Macy's user

Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation by L'Oreal

"God yes. If you're not aware of what Accutane is, it's a strong acne prescription drug that makes your skin extremely dry. It wasn't my first time taking accutane so I knew going into it what would happen to my skin. So I went to my local drug store and picked this one out-not knowing what I was getting into going into this. Ive never used a foundation by this brand but it was the only foundation that pretty heavily branded 'heavy glow', so I bought it (plus it was super cheap compared to others). Let me just say I never had high hopes for this foundation. I have an extremely hard time finding foundation that works for me and considering I was about to go through skin h*ll for the next 8 months I wasn't getting my hopes up. Long story short this foundation was a holy grail. I never once had any dry patches through a 12 or 15 hours I had this on. Occasionally if I knew I was touching my face a lot that day I'd have to quickly powder and blend my face some. that was really the only con. I applied beautifully and so smooth once you powder your face. My contour and highlight blended well with it and all in all Im super impressed. 2 months after I finished Accutane (finished my 3rd bottle) I ran out and didn't have time to go to the store and pick up more so I used some of my foundation I used before which was some high end pricey foundation. Lets just say I went through the day feeling like my face was the dessert, and looking so cakey. immediately that next morning I picked me up some more pro-glow. I will never go back to anything else and will honestly be devastated if they discontinue this. If you know you have dry skin or if you're on Accutane or some other skin solution that makes your skin dry PLEASE use this. I promise you'll never want to use anything else. This saved me from 8 months of h*ll because honestly I loved putting on my makeup knowing I was going to look glowey and flawless. « less" - ulta.com user

Les Beiges Healthy Glow Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 25 by Chanel

"I have tried a hundred foundations (MUFE, Charlotte tilbury, Giorgio Armani, Dior, elcie, Kevyn auction, MAC, Lancôme, Estée Lauder, benefit, too faced, tarte, la prairie, YSL, Tom Ford, the list goes on..) and I’m forever on the hunt for my forever foundation and this is the one! First. I frequently have a problem with color matching. I’m half white and half Japanese so it can be a little hard to match my sometimes sensitive skin. I got B20 and it is a PERFECT MATCH. I don’t think I’ve ever felt so confident wearing a foundation. It’s warm in undertone without making your skin look sallow and goes on like a dream. I use the Chanel sublimage la lotion supreme on cleansed skin and then follow with the Chanel solution 10 moisturizer that I was told can double as a primer. I let that sit for a bit and then apply the foundation and set it with the Le tient ultra tenue powder in the same shade. This foundation applies like a dream. I use a beauty blender because I’m lazy but do like to apply with a flat top brush, too. It’s buildable and goes on so smoothly. It doesn’t just sit on top of your skin either. It feels natural and lasts ALL day. I do tend to lean more full coverage and this definitely does that without looking cakey. I have never been excited to apply foundation but this one has changed my mind. I wasn’t going to go back to Chanel after hating the last foundation I was told to try (also an incorrect color match by the Chanel rep) but thought I’d give it one last try and I’m so happy with my purchase! My skin is normal but can get a little dry/oily depending on the season. It doesn’t accentuate my dry patches and the oily spots if I have any don’t cause the foundation to run or oxidize. This is the best foundation and it’s so underrated! Less" - Nordstrom user

Double Wear Light Stay-In-Place Makeup by Estée Lauder

"This foundation comes in a lightweight squeezy container, which is amazing for portability plus I find it less messy and wasteful than standard foundations. The foundation itself is creamy and not runny at all, but it spreads very evenly onto the face. It applies fabulously with a brush but I prefer to use fingers, as I feel this warms up the foundation a bit to help it blend. I blend out from the middle and it gives a glowy look at first but dries down to a natural, semi-matte finish. The coverage is amazing, it covers blemishes and redness so well - I'd say it covers just as well as the normal Double Wear, but with a different (less matte) finish. Because it's less matte, I find it more flattering on the slightly uneven texture of my skin. It gives an illusion of lovely smooth skin, but doesn't look like you're wearing heavy foundation. This is the best foundation I've found for combination skin, as it doesn't dry out or cause flakiness on the drier parts of my face, but it also controls oil really well on the shinier parts. I work full time and also attend evening classes, so I can personally testify that this lasts over 16 hours (!) on me without a primer or setting powder. I'm really particular about my base makeup looking good as I think it makes a huge difference, and this foundation even seemed to make my blusher last longer. I wore this foundation to my wedding about 18 months ago, and it lasted even in heat exceeding 40 degrees! It also photographed beautifully - even in the un-retouched photos from family and friends, my face looked airbrushed! My skin really isn't that great naturally, so this is a LIFESAVER. I'm a total foundation addict and have tried most of the high end brands, but this wins every time. Thanks Estee Lauder, this is absolutely my favourite product! Please bring out more shades though, like you have done for Double Wear - as a pale warm-toned girl, shade 1.0 is a little too dark and pinky for me in the winter. <span class="shop__a pd-reviews__expand-link pd-reviews__translate-span" data-hide="3928115401085027846-full" data-show="3928115401085027846-short" jsaction="pdui.tvc">« less</span>" - Estée Lauder user

Fresh Glow Luminous Fluid Foundation by Burberry Beauty

"I'm 73 years old, and find the challenges of age-appropriate makeup and makeup techniques challenging, to say the least, so it is with great pleasure I've found the perfect concealer to enhance my under-eye area without having to deal with caking and creasing and drying in this delicate area. I have a light to medium skin tone, and Burberry Cashmere Concealer in Honey has become an integral part of my daily regimen. Application is a pleasure: the cashmere-like tip is a lovely idea, and easy to control. (Upon receiving the product I gave it a few good pumps to start the flow, and now use only one pump to disperse the small amount of product sufficient for both eyes.) FYI, my complete regimen: After moisturizing my face and neck, I begin with an under-eye conditioner (Chanel), letting it dry and soak in for a few minutes, and then use the Cashmere tip to dab a small amount of concealer around and under the whole eye area including the corners of inner and outer eye, patting it in lightly. I follow that with a thin layer of my foundation, Armani Maestro Fusion makeup #5.25, lightly brushing it over my entire face including (carefully) over the concealer and not forgetting to extend a thin film onto my throat and ears and behind and below the ear (so easy to forget this and so obviously off-shade if one forgets to enhance that area too). Then I apply my eye makeup, jazz up my thinning eyebrows and lashes, follow that with a very thin application of powder blush---Dior Mimi Bronze---and pat a very light film of Chanel Light Creator Brightening makeup base (in the pale yellow shade, Mimosa) to the outer corner of my eyes and continue down over just the top of my cheekbones. Adds a lovely subtle sheen, making the whole face look perfectly moisturized and healthy. Then outline the lips lightly and just as lightly apply lipstick (current favs are Armani Ecstacy Tangerine and Burberry Nude Apricot.) Sounds complicated, but easy and such a natural look for mature skin... Less" - Nordstrom user

Synchro Skin Glow Luminizing Fluid Foundation SPF 20 by Shiseido

"I never write foundation reviews, because I never like one enough. I'm not some die-hard Shiseido fan either; I keep trying different foundations as I'm a cosmetic junkie. And I've tried many, from drugstore to high-end (Armani, Chanel, Dior, Guerlain, YSL, etc.) to Japanese & Korean brands. I almost never empty a bottle. Yet, this is currently the first foundation I keep going back to - when I want to look good and healthy. It's not a full coverage foundation, so those with more skin issues/who like full coverage may not find this covers enough. This foundation has a light, watery consistency and dewy finish - almost like you're not wearing makeup. I like natural makeup, so that's what I'm looking for, and 1 push with this pump is almost too much (I feel like I'm wasting the product - but for a normal person it's probably a good amount). I buff it out with a dense brush, like one from Artis or Shiseido, and it doesn't sit in my pores - it looks very smooth. If you want to know how natural it looks: My dermatologist had to ask if I'm wearing any makeup. I use it with Honest Beauty Everything Primer (pore-blurring ones with silica didn't work too well); that seems to work best so far. I tried it with one of the Japanese Shiseido primers, and oddly enough, it didn't seem as compatible. I'm an Asian with not too much yellow undertone, MAC NC20/021 in Dior, and N2 works well. At the end of the day my nose gets slightly shiny, but nothing a sheet of tissue/blotting paper can't fix. I'd take that over dryness any day. My cheeks tend to be on the slightly dry side, so this may not be best fit for oily skin. The only fault I find with this foundation is that it has slight fragrance - it's a known skin irritant, and I could have done without. (It's not too overpowering.) Other than that, if I were having my wedding today, this would be the foundation I'd wear. <span class="shop__a pd-reviews__translate-span">« less</span>" - Nordstrom user

Photogenic Lumessence SPF 15 Foundation by Lancôme

"Now that I'm 47 1/2....I've been seeing more signs of aging lately.... and more and more products are just settling into my pores and wrinkles and emphasizing them. Ugh. Until the past few months, people used to think I was 10 years younger than I was, but recent stress has sped up the aging process for me, so it appears. Anyway, I was about to give up on having great-looking skin ever again until I found this foundation. But WOW, this foundation has virtually turned back the clock and makes my face look 10 years younger (once again, yay!). With this foundation, my face looks MUCH more luminous and healthy, and it does NOT settle into pores or wrinkles. This foundation so far is actually improving my large forehead wrinkle quite a bit. (I've only used this for about a week and a half so far.) Also this foundation has good coverage but doesn't look phony or cakey. I absolutely LOVE this stuff!!! Pricey but absolutely worth it! Less" - Macy's user

Naturally Flawless Foundation by BH Cosmetics

"I had never bought anything from BH Cosmetics before, even though I get emailed with the specials everyday. When I saw this on sale, I decided that it wouldn't hurt to try it, plus as a professional Make-Up Artist, I needed to replenish my foundation supply. I purchased 1 in every color. When they came, I tried on the color that matched my complexion, to test the texture, wear and color blend on my own skin, and I was very impressed with how smoothly and flawless the application looked, and how lightweight it felt. I couldn't even see that I was wearing foundation, it blended so well. (I test foundation on my face, and not my hand). I have normal to dry skin, and my color from this collection is Hazelnut. I have noticed that the foundation looks lighter through the bottle than when it is dispensed. This could be because of the frosted embellishment the bottle has. Anyway, I used this liquid foundation for a photo shoot on a model who wore the color Light Olive. The product is thick, buildable, and heavily pigmented, so you want to apply a little at a time. I would describe it as having the ability to give up to full coverage. This I did and it definitely covered the few acne breakouts that she had at the time, and evened out her skin tone, making it flawless. This foundation passes the flash photography test, and is long-wearing. I had to leave the photo shoot early, and the photographer told me afterward that no touch ups were required. The photo shoot was done outdoors in Summer, and the model had several wardrobe changes. I am immensely impressed at the quality since I am used to higher end brands, some of which do not perform well under pressure. If you are wanting to try this, you get the green light from me. <span class="shop__a pd-reviews__expand-link pd-reviews__translate-span" data-hide="-7483872648145540121-full" data-show="-7483872648145540121-short" jsaction="pdui.tvc">« less</span>" - bhcosmetics.com user

Capture Totale Foundation by Dior

"I have combo, sensitive skin prone to redness, and sadly in the winter time my skin gets extra dry around certain areas like my mouth and forehead. I am NC20 skintone and I got the color 021 and it matched me perfectly. I used to use the Dior Nudeskin and 021 was my color in that range as well. As Ive been gearing up for spring, I ended up with a horrid allergic reaction courtesy of BareMinerals. My entire face was bumpy, irritated, itchy, and dry like Saharan sandpaper. It would drink up moisturizer within minutes(!) and I had to keep reapplying to keep my face from feeling too taut and uncomfortable. Even though La Mer moisturizer offered me the most relief, it was still temporary and I needed reapplication throughout the day. Yes, it was that bad. Anyway, I purchased this because I was looking for a foundation that I could use during situations like this when my skin needs something extra loving and supportive; something gentle that performs in a skin-like way when applied, with specific anti-aging properties. The dryness made me worried I would form wrinkles from this experience because my skin was so dry, rough and taut... so anti-aging properties were important. I had purchased the Dior cushion foundation and since I had such great response with the Capture Totale/Dreamskin serum ingredient, I did not hesitate to purchase this. I am so happy to report that this foundation was a Godsend for what I needed. It kept my skin calm(amazingly, because my skin has been screaming in exclamation points for the last week), didnt accentuate any dry spots or (potential) wrinkles, was gentle, and just made me feel like I had normal skin on my face again. Yes my skin was still dry but this foundation did not let it get any worse than it already was all day, which is a feat unto itself. On normal skin I would imagine this would lend youthful glow and balance all day, which I am a huge fan of as it is. I found this foundation buildable and look very skin-like and real. If you have mature and or sensitive skin that needs a soothing foundation, I highly highly recommend this. <span class="shop__a pd-reviews__translate-span">« less</span>" - Sephora user

Double Wear Makeup To Go by Estée Lauder

"I gave up trying to find the perfect cream compact foundation after two different brands were discontinued, and went crazy trying every cushion compact until I went into chat here and was told to try this. I was matched to Desert Beige, and also ordered Fresco, and am keeping both. This makeup is longlasting once dry, and leaves the luminous, glowing finish I want without caking, melting into creases or promoting pores. It also has no sunscreen, so there is no irritation to my sensitive, dry skin. I don't know how this will do in the summer, but right now it's perfection, and while I had to replace the sponge with a more pliable one, my only real complaint is that it's liquid rather than a solid cream, but for now I can return all the other stuff I bought and can't use." - Estée Lauder user

Teint Miracle Bare Skin Foundation by Lancôme

"I have acne scars, and huge pores on my cheeks but this really makes me look as though I've perfect, glowing skin. The coverage can be a sheer or as full as needed. And amazingly enough, the need for a concealer for my acne scars is COMPLETELY unnecessary. Seriously: my skin is far from perfection, but this helps me to fake it, and naturally so. Plus, you can still see MY skin, I don't feel as though I've a caked on veil on my face, if anything a sheer wash of radiance. Additionally I've oily skin, so the ultra moisturizing benefits of this foundation are good, but do cause me to have shine, however no more than with any other foundations I've tried in the past. I will try a primer to minimize the problem. Also, although it does the best job I've ever experienced at minimizing the look of pores, they are still not completely concealed, so definitely a primer is a must for this. A sheer powder over it would do well to benefit the overall look of the skin, although if the skin does not suffer too much from shine, I suggest to veto it, as there really is a great dewy look to be benefited from without a finishing powder. It's scentless, and perfect for sensitive skin, I don't break out from this, if anything I feel I'm doing myself and my skin a huge favor. I reckon for girls with dry skin, or normal skin the moisturizing benefits of this foundation are absolutely wonderful. It light, beautiful, natural perfection. I suppose I've just a single complaint, or more really, a regret: as others have stated, the colors do seem to be too yellow. I wear 0n, as its the closest match but I feel the colors could cater more to other undertones. I also bought 1n at the same time to see if it would be preferable for me, but its a tad too dark for now, although definitely much less yellow. I also had to purchase and wait directly from Lancome. I do wish sephora would sell the darker hues, have they forgotten our tan, olive complexions, and the deeper ones? ;) Really, all women should have the benefit of trying this at sephora, as its most convenient, and most catering to our desires for prompt satisfaction for all beauty needs. Don't even hesitate to try this. In all honesty, I HATE wearing makeup. I love it, but hate to wear it. In the past I've always strayed away from and been afraid of the masked look or super unnatural airbrushed look most liquid foundations seem to always have. So instead I leaned towards BE and also Philosophy's airbrushed mineral foundation, and fresh's face luster, hoping to achieve naturally beautiful looking skin. I was severely discontented with the results of all of those, I sought more coverage, more radiance, more freedom in my makeup. This foundation is perfect for me, because it does all of that, and makes me feel as though I haven't any secrets to hide about my skin, only secrets about how I get it to look so beautiful. <span class="shop__a pd-reviews__expand-link pd-reviews__translate-span" data-hide="-2069030529602826637-full" data-show="-2069030529602826637-short" jsaction="pdui.tvc">« less</span>" - Sephora user

Instant Age Rewind Radiant Firming Makeup by Maybelline

"Okay, it's not a pretty bottle but, I have been using this makeup for YEARS because I love it! I have tried a number of other foundations, including those purchased at department stores, and none compares with this one, Instant Age Rewind. It glides onto my skin beautifully. It leaves my skin looking smooth and much more flawless than it really is. My skin is dry in spots, oily in others, but when I wear this foundation, that all disappears! I also love that it contains sunscreen. I live in Florida, regular sunscreens can melt on my face and look greasy, others dry up and look caked where they settle. This foundation does neither! And you'd think it'd melt out in the hot humid climate, but it does not. This is the BEST foundation ever! Recently, I've been having a hard time finding it in stores :-( If it gets discontinued, that'd be a HUGE MISTAKE. I've always worried that could happen just because the bottle it comes in is not 'pretty'. A lot of women like to purchase products that 'look' fancy. I do too, but it's the product inside the packaging that's really important. There are a lot more positive reviews of this product on other websites, so I have to wonder if Maybelline is really paying attention. MAYBELLINE, pay attention! DO NOT DISCONTINUE this makeup. If sales are a bit more sluggish, keep the product and dress up the packaging!!! I would happily pay a lot more for this product! Less" - maybelline.com user

Clean Matte Liquid Foundation by Covergirl

"I received Covergirl Clean Oil Control Foundation in 560 Classic tan from Bzzagent free to try and review. I was first very skeptical while selecting the shade as my medium light wheatish skin with pink undertones never gets the shade matched perfectly and it often looks cakey. However, all I did was adjusted my cell phone to medium brightness, zoomed in all the shades so that it covers the phone's entire screen, then kept my phone near my face and compared with mirror. and viola!!! It matched. So I knew that I have selected the right shade. but I was a bit nervous waiting for the product because of past experience with wrong shades from other brands. But then, drum roll!!! IT arrived! I received a beautiful glass bottle. The bottle is easy to hold and has good amount of the product. I tried to take some product to my palm, but being thick in consistency, it took 5-6 tough flicks of wrist to get some product. The coverage justifies this. I took the swipe of this product at my jaw. The foundation blended with my skin so well that I had to recheck if I had applied the product enough. :) It covered all my skin pigmentation. Some products have given me red bumps on my face before and also have stung me because of my sensitive skin. However, this covergirl foundation is so good that it made my skin look beautiful without any irritation, without drying out my skin, without making my face look greasy after a while. The foundation is so good and light (but with complete coverage) like it is never applied minus my skin pigmentation. Also, the foundation lasts longer so I do not have to touch up my face. I would definitely recommend this foundation to others. Finally getting the shade right is soooooo good and having all extra benefits is a nice surprise from this cute bottle. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)" - walgreens user

Luminous Finish Foundation by Fiona Stiles

"After half a decade of clear skin, I started randomly breaking out half a year ago. I went on Retin-A, and while my acne is considerably better as a result, I still have some not-so-perfect areas and my skin is really dry and dehydrated. My old tinted moisturizers weren't cutting it in terms of either coverage or moisture, so I tried multiple foundations that are supposedly good for dry skin -- Nars Sheer Glow (NIGHTMARE), Armani Luminous Silk (nope), Becca Aqualuminous, and the Hourglass Vanish stick foundation -- and they all clung to my dry spots. Some would look nice to start with, but within a few hours, those areas looked awful, no matter how well I hydrated and moisturized my skin. The Fiona Stiles Luminous Finish looks like skin, even on my extra dry spots (cheeks and chin). The initial coverage is light, but it's buildable to medium coverage on the areas where my acne is still hanging around a bit. The finish is luminous in a natural way: you look like you have great skin, and not like you've smeared liquid highlight all over your face. I bought this rather recently, so I have only been able to test it in the winter, but I've seen it hold up well for over twelve hours despite sweating a bit. My skin is rather fair and my undertones are neutral to slightly warm (for reference, MAC NC15 and Nars Gobi are pretty good matches for me, although they could be the tiniest bit lighter), and #2 Warm Ivory is one of the best foundation matches I've ever found. I'm really glad I can stop foundation hunting!" - ulta user

Protect & Perfect Advanced All In One Foundation by no7

"I was pleasantly surprised at how well No7 Protect and Perfect Advanced All in One Foundation covered my blemishes. I have oily acne prone skin and very visible acne scars and use a full coverage foundation. First off I live the slender tip of the tube it helps to control how much product is released allowing the user to build coverage as needed. And the shade Chestnut blended in perfectly and seamlessly, with my deep skin tone. This foundation is a multitasker it has age-defying skincare ingredients from No7 serums, SPF50 and over tome helps your skin look younger and healthier which works perfect in my busy Mom life. I found application quick and easy, it didn't feel like I was wearing a mask and it photographed beautifully. I loved wearing it and it lasted the whole day without it turning into a gloopy mess. Clear Complexion Liquid Makeup by Almay

"This foundation has been my favoite for years. The only thing I hated about it was that the lightest shade ivory was quite too dark for me. It seriously has always lasted all day, never emphasized pores or dryness, even tends to look better as the day went on... I recently picked it up once more after trying out different things to try and find something that would fit my pale skin better, but had to come back because I just can't find anything as long lasting and beautiful as this. So I grabbed the lightest shade- per usual, and then later on when I dispenced it I noticed that it looked lighter than before, so I checked the shade and discovered they had made a new, lighter shade!!!!!!! Couldn't be happier!!!!!!!!!!! It almost fits my skin in the light and doesn't leave as obvious a line on my neck and still preforms as well, in fact, they reformulated this and I feel like it's even better.... now it has 2% sa instead of .05%. It also looks glowy-er in my opinion. I had contacted the company several times in the past requesting and pleading that they make a lighter shade of this and I and thrilled they actually listened. Sometimes the lightest shade of foundation somehow doesn't preform the same as the other shades (who knows why?), but this one is perfect. I'll probably use this every day now! I'll no longer need to mix foundations! I hope they make an even lighter one in the future, as this isn't a perfect match but its SO much better. Thank you so much for listening to your customers! Pale girls need to match their neck!" - walgreens user

Meteorites Baby Glow Sheer Liquid Foundation by Guerlain

"I received a sample of this product in 3 medium. I can't say enough good things about it without having a book review for you to read! My only negative I found is the color names and options can be off a bit. The 3 medium I found is really light. If you're pale skinned this is a perfect color for you, if you at tan this works great as a brightener under your eyes, forehead, chin etc, or you can use it all over face and neck then follow up with bronzer and contour to warm up the face. The smell is beautiful! I don't typically like fragrance in my facial makeupmakeup, however this one I actually love. Once it dries it no longer smells. I have combination skin, oily in my t zone, especially on my nose and cheeks. I'm in my mid 30's, but have deep forehead wrinkles, and slight crows feet. After 10 hours the only problem I had was it broke up and creases on the corners of my nose. But afterafter wearing it that long I couldn'tcouldn't complain. All I did was dab my ring finger over the area a few times and it fixed it. This product didn't settle into my deep lines on my forehead which totally won me over on this product as everything else I've tried by other brands does before I'm even finished my makeup application. I did set this with urban decay deslick powder and used all nighter setting spray by urban decay with this, but I could have went without i believe and still had similar results! I love this product and most all of Guerlain products. If your going to spend a few extra products, this is the brand to go for!!!! <span class="shop__a pd-reviews__expand-link pd-reviews__translate-span" data-hide="-8068634733153945242-full" data-show="-8068634733153945242-short" jsaction="pdui.tvc">« less</span>" - Sephora user

Outlast Active 24 HR Foundation SPF 20 by Covergirl

"It’s been a long time since I’ve even used a covergirl product, however, this one definitely delivers. It gives just the right amount of coverage I want and allows me to build on it if I so desire. It lasts me all day without moving. It does tend to be a bit sticky at first, so I like to use a sponge to apply. My skin is fairly dry, so I don’t use a lot of powder. I just set around my nose and a bit under my eyes. Finish it off with a nice balanced setting spray and you won’t be disappointed." - mira user

Sheer And Perfect Foundation by Shiseido

"Shiseido has yet again created a product worthy of HG status! Easily one of the most underrated (yet ironically the oldest) brand on the market. Dick Page has been revamping all aspects of the makeup side of Shiseido's product line and the results have by and large been amazing, this new Sheer and Perfect foundation is no exception. Coverage is sheer but build able (without looking cakey), the color barely oxidizes, it's long lasting, and blends like a dream! I also have to say Shiseido's claim that this product contains various color correcting powders is accurate, there's a noticeable softening of spots and discoloration and a minimizing of the pores. I couldn't be happier using this as my day to day foundation and reserving Perfect Refining for those days I want a slightly more polished look. You won't regret purchasing this! Note: Be sure to shake bottle well before use. <span class="shop__a pd-reviews__expand-link pd-reviews__translate-span" data-hide="6391757013042247585-full" data-show="6391757013042247585-short" jsaction="pdui.tvc">« less</span>" - Sephora user

Parure Gold Radiance Foundation SPF 30 PA+++ by Guerlain

"I have tried a wide variety of high end foundations in my day. This foundation changed my makeup game. I will start off with the only two downfalls of this foundation, the colour range and the cost. I am pale, but not extremely, and so lucky that the lightest shade of this foundation matches my skin perfectly. This foundation is NOT full coverage, but has light-medium coverage that can be built up. I would not recommend buying this if you are looking for a more full coverage foundation as you will just end up using the foundation too quickly to justify the price. I am lucky to have clear skin and just need to cover up a little redness/even out my skin tone. I use about 1/2-1 pump daily and I expect it to last me around 10 months- a year. I unfortunately cant see the remaining amount, but its been going strong for over 8 months now, so its high price tag doesn't bother me. I love this product so much that I already have a back up, my first time repeat buying a foundation and I wont be trying any other formulas as long as this is around. Now for the many many pros. I can use this foundation in the same shade all year round, since it is not too heavy I feel like it easily blends in with my skin tone- even when I am darker with a tan it still matches perfectly. I get a medium coverage from this foundation by buffing it in with a foundation brush in the winter to cover any redness, then during summer with a tan & more even skin tone It can be applied with a beauty blender for lighter coverage & a more sheer look. This foundation does not oxidize, crease, dry out, become greasy looking or separate on my face all day. I am lucky to have a normal skin type, more on the slightly oily side if anything and I do not need to blot or re-apply all day if my makeup is properly set (not sure if this would be the same in the case of a more oily skin complexion). In the winter this foundation does not stick to the odd dry patch I have, and I have heard that this foundation also works amazingly for people with extreamly dry skin. The people saying that this foundation is not long lasting probably just aren't prepping/setting their faces right, because this foundation lasts on my face all day without having to touch up and doesn't transfer onto any items that touch my face, I work two jobs, as a hygienist with a mask on, and as a server where I run around becoming sweaty for up to 12 hours at a time, and I think my face still looks pretty darn good at the end of a long day. Did I mention this foundation also has SPF 30 in it? I am only 25 years old and have always had fairly clear/tight skin so have not noticed a difference there, but have read many reviews that say this foundation also has firming/lifting & skincare properties, which also attributes to its price. I apologize for the novel review, but when online shopping for makeup I rely heavily on reading reviews. I first bought this on a whim and I am so happy I tried it! I hope this helps explain the high price tag and many benefits of this wonderful foundation :) « less" - Sephora user

Photo Focus Dewy Foundation by Wet n Wild Beauty

"I love this foundation for any event! You can make this an "even out your skin tone" with the slightest bit; or you can totally build the coverage for an intense makeup look. It sinks into the skin the right way while covering a decent amount. This great for someone struggling to find a foundation that is not caked and heavy looking at n the face. I definitely recommend applying with a sponge for a even more dewy finish. With a brush it will give an amazing dewy Dinah regardless. A sponge just amps it up. I also think that if you have an oily T-zone you would have to powder if you want it last in the center of the face. Also, less is more towards the center of the face; it tends to look heavy in that area if you do too much. I love this foundation and I think I have found a new holy grail! Highly recommend! Less" - ulta.com user

Ever Matte Skin Balancing Oil Free Foundation SPF 15 by Clarins

"I've been using Clarins Everlasting for a couple of years now and am incredibly happy with it. I find the long wear formula holds up really well (even on my oily/combination skin!), the range of shades on offer are great, and I love the coverage it offers too.As I mentioned above, I have oily/combination and acne prone skin, so I tend to stick to long wearing formulas which offer medium to full coverage when it comes to base make up. I've found that a lot of these types of foundations tend to look a bit heavy and mask like, but Everlasting provides really decent coverage without looking 'flat' or cake-y. It covers redness and blemishes well, and doesn't emphasize any dry areas or pores. The formula also feels comfortable and the creamy texture applys and blends brilliantly.Clarins promise up to 15 hours of wear, and while I don't quite get that, I do find that Everlasting lasts well throughout the day when set with a loose powder. I've also found that the formula wears evenly and I've not had problems with oxidation.Overall, an excellent, full coverage foundation, which feels comfortable and looks natural! « less" - Escentual user

Perfect Refining Foundation by Shiseido

Flawless Finish Perfectly Satin 24HR Makeup Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 15 by Elizabeth Arden

"I have been on the hunt for over three years for a great foundation. I have tried probably 100 foundations both drug store and high end. I have combination skin so matte foundation seems to look cakey even on my oily parts. Most luminous foundations just don't work well on my skin. I found this one at Marshalls and decided for the discounted price I would give it a try. The shade was a little dark so I used PUR Cosmetics foundation I had similar to Dior Airflash to lighten it & omg I am impressed with this foundation, formula, coverage, everything! My skin has never looked so healthy. It does exactly what it claims. It literally looks like skin. Covers my hyperpigmentation, rosacea, reduces pores, my skin feels hydrated and I have a natural glow. It doesn't settle in my fine lines or crease on me like every other foundation I've tried. I will definitely purchase this foundation again in my shade at full price! Less" - elizabetharden.com user

Lasting Matte Foundation by Rimmel

"I was really impressed with this foundation . Ive been looking for a summer foundation that is matte but not heavy or cakey . From the tube i was expecting a liquid type of texture , however i was surprised that the texture was more light a whipped mouse . Its thick in texture but as soon as i started blending into my skin it felt light like a mousse texture and almost turned into a powdery finish . The foundation was really easy to apply and blend . It blended perfectly and a little goes a long way . The foundation is also buildable , I found that a single layer looked more natural and allowed my skin to still show through slightly . I applied more layers to blemishes and uneven skin tone . Despite building it up, it didnt look thick or cakey . I liked the matte effect of the foundation , although matte it didnt look flat or dull. It looked and felt more like a satin finish without feeling dry. The foundation lasted well throughout the day and i didnt feel the need to top it up. The foundation remained the same shade too and didnt oxidise. The matte effect lasted really well and i was impressed with how well it kept my skin matte throughout a hot day . Less" - rimmellondon.com user

Eclat Matissime Fluid Foundation Airy-Light Mat Radiance SPF 20 - PA+++ by Givenchy

"I loved my first bottle of Givenchy Photo Perfexion, but I felt like it was not very long lasting and frankly too moisturizing for my oily skin. When I was almost done with the bottle, I didn't feel like using it for the S/S season. So I got a bunch of samples - among them were Chanel, Clinique -- and all of them 1) broke my skin out terribly, 2) gave me acnes and 3) felt extremely heavy. After frustrating trials, I decided to stick with Photo Perfexion. Then I found out about eclat Mattissime. I read online reviews and went to Sephora. A sales associate told me that it is relatively new product, and is for oily skin. I've used it for three days... and I believe I found my dream foundation. Pros 1) Despite the perfume (I like the scent), it does not irritate the skin at all. My skin actually looks smoother and more radiant when I use this. 2) It has a better consistency than Photo Perfexion. It covers my pores smoothly - while Photo Perfexion had a tendency to settle into my pores. It does dry quickly so you gotta work on putting it on fast. 3) This is not a cakey or chalky matte. My face would give a glow and matte kind of sheer shine (hard to describe). I think it is the work of all the microbeads. 4) Oil control on this is phenomenal. Since I am a really greasy (not even oily, greasy!) person, oil still kinda shows. But the makeup stays. Oil is not concentrated on my t-zone, but is more spread out.... You might laugh that I say the shine gets spread out, but it is far better than having spotty shiny spots right on your forehead or around nose. 5) I don't like feeling makeup on my face. It was another reason why I loved Photo Perfexion... Both Givench products are so light on your skin - Eclat Matissime is more matte and consistent. 6) Stays all day. Just make sure you put on two layers. I haven't used it with primer, but I am sure it will work well. Cons 1) Just like everyone else... What's wrong with the packaging?! Why can't I control the amount of disposal? Also, foundation gets everywhere around the lid. 2) I need two layers of this foundation to achieve desired effect since the formula is pretty thin. I think I will use this up pretty fast... It's a pretty pricey foundation so I don't like having to use two pumps every time. This product still gets a 5... because, heck, I would pay anything to make myself this great every day. Buying this is worth trading for a couple dinner outs or extra clothing. Also, if you have a semi-decent skin like me that has some redness/spots, I am telling you... you don't need to cover up all of your imperfections completely. You just need to cover enough for them to not stand out. <span class="shop__a pd-reviews__translate-span">« less</span>" - Sephora user

Surreal Skin Foundation Wand by surratt

"Stunning foundation. Tried many high end and not high end foundations the past few years and nothing compares to the Surreal Skin. I also have the new Surratt Dew Drop Foundation (also lovely-yet, not as nice as this one.) The Surratt Surreal Skin Foundation truly is the most beautiful foundation I've ever worn. I have mature skin (good condition) with slight redness and minimal fine lines. My skin is combo and is uber sensitive. It will bun and get a breakout if it does not like a product. No issues with this foundation. It does not oxidize. It does not settle into fine lines. I do not have much to cover yet this provides enough coverage that if I wanted I could skip concealer. I lightly (very lightly) set with a loose powder. This gives my skin a ever so slightly luminous (surreal) yet natural finish. Gorgeous. The really amazing thing-I was carded the other day (I'm over 50) wearing this foundation. The girl was stunned when she saw my age. This is a keeper! WOW is my final comment. I think if you do a good job 'prepping' your skin before applying you will love this foundation. Stunning on the skin. Almost forgot: Lasts a good 8 hours and does not need much touch up (unless you are really oily). I'm amazed at the finish. Natural and slightly luminous yet not oily or 'fake glowy.' Less" - Sephora user

Terrybly Densiliss Foundation by By Terry

"I must admit that I've been lurking around the ByTerry counter for a few weeks now before purchasing this, the first time I saw this I balked at the price and scoffed about how no foundation could be worth that price - I now own one, and I've already ordered another tube so that I'll never be without one! Shade 1 disappears on my skin, you can't tell in wearing foundation (unless you saw my blotchy skin and dark circles beforehand!) the finish is matte but not dull it looks like skin a bit of glow but no shine. It feels like skin as well, I'll have left the house and suddenly panic that I haven't put makeup on because there's not that tell tale "made up" feeling on my face. I've never had such nice skin as I have while wearing this. Usage: you need to shake it, the serum separates from the foundation slightly. Apply preferably with a synthetic brush to get a really smooth polished finish, I hardly have to use any moisturiser because of the serum formula - just a dab on parts of my face I know get quite dry. Results: I work in a boiling hot clinic with a mask on all day, I've sweated like crazy tied my mask at least 10 times over it and still it stays put and it still looks perfect. With other foundations I get a bit of separation when I sweat leaving a strange blotchy look - but not with densiliss. Where it really comes into it's own is in photographs, my skin looks airbrushed and glowy - that smooth glowing look of models on the covers of magazines, wow. I wanted this foundation not to live up to the hype and not to be worth the money, but really there's nothing that compares it it - it's heaven in a bottle. <span class="shop__a pd-reviews__expand-link pd-reviews__translate-span" data-hide="-7949691196040016833-full" data-show="-7949691196040016833-short" jsaction="pdui.tvc">« less</span>" - spacenk.com user

Miracle Touch Liquid Illusion Foundation by Max Factor

"This is the quickest foundation application I have ever used and I find it so easy to put it on in the morning when in rush.It has a SPF 30 too so will be good for year round use.It is very moisturising with hyluronic acid but not too greasy. For me its all in one step,I apply primer first then I use this foundation. As It is a medium to full coverage foundation,I layer it on and then add a little extra under my eyes for dark circles and on acne marks so doesnt need to use concealer seprately and it gives a moisturising matt finish when dries ,so no need to set with a powder after that. For me this little compact has all (moisturiser +sunscreen + foundation + concealer + powder ).It is really compact so its easy to fit in ur handbag.A very travel friendly product but do note that there is no mirror included.Overall I'm exceptionally happy with this product. It gives me the coverage that I need and I don't need to use much either.I normally apply foundation with my fingers and then gives a finishing touch with the sponge.I find that product blend really well with the heat of your fingers and then you can dab it with the sponge .It gives you smooth and healthy finish.I would definatly recommend this to everyone. « less" - maxfactor.com user

Maifanshi Moisture Foundation by Koh Gen Do

"For whatever reason, I have NEVER found a foundation that I actually wanted to wear consistently on a day to day basis; they all just felt too cake-y or greasy, and I always felt like I looked like I had a million pounds of makeup on (even with tinted moisturizers). I think a large part of the problem was that I was usually drawn in by multi-tasking products like BB creams or acne-specific formulas in hopes of preventing my combination skin from breaking out after daily use, so perhaps I am giving the Maifanshi Moisture Foundation a bit too much credit, but I sort of doubt it. This foundation (shade 013) is really the best foundation I have ever used. Even when I have no hugely obvious blemishes or discoloration, I just simply like the way my face looks after its application and actually look forward to putting it on each morning. The coverage feels light and natural but sufficient (and its definitely buildable), and it so far hasn't caused me to break out in the two weeks I've been using it. I could go on an on about why I like it, but, realistically, everyone's skin is different and this may not fit some peoples' needs. However, I truly feel that this foundation is everything it claims to be in its description, and I encourage anyone who doesn't usually wear foundation but would like to give it a try to do so. If I had one complaint, it would be that I seem to be going through my first tube faster than expected (the tube itself is smaller than most other foundations I've tried), and for the price I would've liked it to last a bit longer. That being said, I definitely plan on reordering when I run out. I should probably also note that I usually wear this on top of Murad's Invisiblur Perfecting Shield, and, though I have worn it without a primer a few times with satisfactory results, this foundation seems to last a little longer/look better with it. <span class="shop__a pd-reviews__translate-span">« less</span>" - Sephora user

Illuminating Liquid Foundation by stila

"Though not perfect, Stila's "Illuminating Liquid Foundation" FAR surpassed my expectations! To say I have skin problems is to make an enormous understatement. My skin is plagued with acne, redness, uneven tone, sensitivity, dryness, oiliness, and *gasp* wrinkles (and every other issue you can think of. Trust me.) For years, I have been on a quest to find the perfect foundation. I am telling the honest truth when I admit I have tried DOZENS (get that? I said DOZENS) of brands of foundation. I've tried department store foundations, drug store foundations, designer foundations, critically acclaimed foundations. None of them came even close to solving all my problems. Alas, my search had to continue. And then, I stumbled across new "Stila Illuminating Liquid Foundation" in my favorite Sephora. Just as I've been doing for years with each foundation I see, I bought it, took it home - and tried it out, automatically setting myself up for the typical "this-won't-work" disappointment. Boy, am I happy I gave this one a shot. "Stila Illuminating Liquid Foundation", while not my dream foundation (I doubt I will ever find my DREAM foundation), is by far the best I have ever tried - and that's saying quite a lot. This is the first foundation (I'm ashamed to say this...) out of over a hundred-and-fifty foundations that has captured my devotion. It unbelievably manages to mask almost all of my skin problems. Sensitivity is no longer an issue, acne is gently veiled, wrinkles are erased, uneven tone is made perfectly even, oily areas are calmed, dry areas are moisturized, and redness (the WORST issue for me) is a thing of the past. I am ridiculously impressed. On top of getting rid of every skin problem imaginable, it improves the look of your skin. It has a completely unique glow that illuminates and brightens your face. You will look gorgeously glowing/dewy, but NEVER oily - perhaps one of the most impressive characteristics of this product. The "illuminating" in the title isn't kidding. This product is a highlighter-illuminater-foundation combination (that actually looks beautifully natural) - I haven't seen that in any other product, which baffles me. Anywho, it literally glows on your skin (it almost has a silk-like sheen) and maintains throughout the whole day. My only complaints are the cost ($38) and the "just-okay" level of blendability. But honestly? These are small downfalls compared to the amazing benefits - I doubt I will find a better product that looks just as beautiful on every skin type and age. As a make-up artist, I now use this on all of my clients. It's light, silky, and looks absolutely, beautifully natural on every single skin-type and -age I have encountered in my clients. Though I wouldn't especially recommend any other Stila products, this is the closest you're gonna get to magic in a bottle - trust me! As a make-up artist, I rarely give a product 5 stars unless it is a truly ground-breaking formula - I firmly believe in letting people know what works, what doesn't, and what's just not worth the money - but truthfully... this foundation deserves every single one of those stars, even at the $38 price tag. *Always use AFTER applying 1) moisturizer, 2) foundation primer, and 3) your favorite concealer {for your problem areas that need extra attention.} <span class="shop__a pd-reviews__translate-span">« less</span>" - Sephora user

Le Teint Ultra Tenue Ultrawear Flawless Foundation by Chanel

"Shade 21 Beige is a perfect match for my light olive NC15-20 skin. The coverage is high medium/low full, but is only buildable if you work very quickly. This is the fastest-setting foundation I've ever seen. The consistency is basically like powder suspended in liquid, so if you don't work quickly, it will get clumpy on your skin. I've found that buffing it on over damp moisturizer using a flat-top foundation brush and working in small sections yields a beautiful result that lasts all day through oily skin, heat, and humidity. If you have dry skin, this foundation is not for you; it will emphasize any flakiness you have. But if you have oily skin and like some coverage, this is the best foundation you'll ever use. The finish is luminous and looks quite natural, and somehow lessens the appearance of even three-dimensional scarring. I have extremely dark-purple Mediterranean under-eye circles and this foundation has even allowed me to wear a little less concealer. I'm used to blotting and touching up my skin multiple times a day due to a hormone imbalance that makes my skin extremely oily, but with this I rarely have to blot and never touch up. The only con is that it's pretty strongly fragranced. However, after two weeks, the fragrance hasn't bothered my sensitive skin, so it's easy to ignore. <span class="shop__a pd-reviews__expand-link pd-reviews__translate-span" data-hide="1030546189635116563-full" data-show="1030546189635116563-short" jsaction="pdui.tvc">« less</span>" - Nordstrom user
