"Product: Bare Escentuals bareMinerals Foundation in Light (25.00 for 0.28 ounces) Shade: Sheer light golden cream >> This product speaks for itself. It's made from pure, crushed minerals straight from our planet. It feels like a cream because it's so finely milled, applied like a powder - but never looks caky, and makes the skin like you've layered silk on it. It's the makeup that feels and looks like no makeup - but your face will be perfected. It's made without Parabens, Sulfates, Synthetic Fragrances/Dyes, Petro-Chemicals, Phthalates. Parabens are said to lead to cancer in woman, while synthetic items are not healthy for the skin. It won't irritate the skin or cause breakouts, which is a relief to all ladies~! According to the statistics on Sephora 98% of woman said their skin looked softer, smoother, and younger. 90% saw IMPROVEMENT in their SKIN with continuous use - a foundation that makes you not need to use foundation. 93% noticed that their skin looked more radiant! >> So, what's my true opinion? I have 2 containers of this foundation, both mini sized. (10 Day Full Face Samples from Sephora.) They have lasted me for a year of light usage from day to day. (Not everyday of course, maybe 2-3 weeks of full face usage if you add it up.) What I'm trying to get at is this stuff lasts. The samples - that were free - lasted a good time for being a sample. I don't have the full size product, I want to get it, but I can bet you that it will last just as long. Obviously longer because it's bigger! Another nice thing is that it comes in so many different shades. I always feel annoyed when I look at a foundation and think, wow. There's 5 shades, and they're all for pale skinned girls. Really, leaving people out in makeup! Not cool! Being light skinned, I don't have a lot of problems, but some of my best friends have olive and darker skin. It's not fair that they can't use my favorite foundation, especially if we have the same skin type. This foundation comes in 20 shades, so any girl can find their perfect fit. >> Besides that this foundation is certified organic it feels just plain good on the skin. I like to buff this on with a Kabuki Brush (small, dense, face brush.) for perfect application. The key to awesome looking skin is to begin by getting a chunk of product on the brush. Now swirl the brush in the cap to get a thin layer of powder on each bristle. Then, tap on the side of the cap so the excess falls in, and voila! You have a brush with the perfect amount of powder evened out. It has light to medium coverage, depending how much you layer it. It works good on girls who have redness, light blemishes, light acne scars, un-even skin tone, etc. If you have bad acne, and dark acne scars this might not be the best for you. But don't feel down! Apply your favorite foundation on first, and then apply this on top. It leaves anything powdery and fake with a soft natural glow. Of course, no sparkle. >> The packaging on this is simple and sleek. The bottom is clear so you can see how much foundation you have, the and the top is matte black. To finish, this foundation has sunscreen, something every girl needs. Obviously you want to apply a sunscreen prior to foundation (apply a separate one for more protection of course!) but this adds a little more strength. Effectiveness: 10/10 Value: 10/10 Packaging: 8/10 Ease Of Use: 10/10 Overall: 10/10 Grade: A+ Love this product all around - it's a great buy! <span class="shop__a pd-reviews__expand-link pd-reviews__translate-span" data-hide="-8674483314418737739-full" data-show="-8674483314418737739-short" jsaction="pdui.tvc">« less</span>" - Sephora user
"Bare Escendtuals' new matte foundation is the product I've been looking for all my life. I have disgustingly oily skin that makes my face shine like a solar panel. After trying so many products that promised the moon I finally found one that delivers real results.Staying power: Normally about 3 hours after I apply my makeup oil starts to seep through. After 4-5 hours my entire face (not just my T-zone) looks like the Exxon-Valdez oil spill. After 8 hours my make-up is sliding off of my face. Using BM Matte foundation I don't see any shine on my face until around 6 hours after I apply. My face only gets really shiny after about 8 hours. Then I simply apply some blotting powder, and I'm set for another 3 hours or so. This makeup truly lasts all day. Out of the zillions of other "mattifying" products I've tried this is the *only* one that works.Coverage: Like most mineral makeups, BM Matte provides a light to medium coverage. It evens skin tone and minimizes pores, but for larger blemishes like pimples or scars you definitely need some concealer.Application: BM Matte is easy to apply. I recommend using their oil-control primer in order to prep your skin. Apply primer, and allow 1-2 minutes to dry. Then use a thick soft brush (I use a Kabuki brush) and follow the instructions. Be sure not to apply too much otherwise your make up will look powdery. Mineral makeup has to "settle in" so to speak, so start slow. Mineral make-up can be somewhat annoying because it gets everywhere. I'm usually very careful not to let any spill, but somehow I usually find tiny hills of powder on my counter. I do love the new locking system that prevents all of the powder from spilling out if you carry the container in your purse.Finish: BM Matte provides an excellent finish that makes my skin radiant and matte. It doesn't, however, give you that air-brushed look like liquid foundation or anything with heavier coverage. However, it does look way more natural.Color: BM creates enough shades that it's easy to match your foundation to your skin type. Their lightest color is a lot lighter than many other foundations, so fair-skinned ladies rejoice. Their colors are very easy to blend so you can get just the right shade. I use fair and fairly light, and I no longer have to worry about that hideous line that divides my face from my neck. One thing to watch out for is that the foundation does become a bit orange from oxidizing. However, this is easily fixed by blotting powder. I use a medium tone blotting powder, and it makes my foundation looks perfect again.Skin-friendly: I can't vouch for the quality of the ingredients or their ability to clear up your skin, but I can say that BM is a lot better for your skin than most foundations. It's light so it doesn't clog pores, and you don't get that heavy feeling at the end of the day like you've got mud on your face. I really love the fact that it protects your skin from the sun, because sun-block clogs my pores like nothing else (not to mention it makes my face even *oilier*). However, you do have to be careful because it does dry your skin out a little. Your face naturally produces oil in order to keep it moisturized, so the lack of oil created from the matte finish means your skin will dry (especially if you use the oil-control primer). However, the drying is not as severe as many acne-fighting products, so I simply started applying moisturizer in the morning as well as at night and I don't have a problem. « less" - Sephora user
"One makeup product I do not leave the house without applying has always been a foundation. My skin is not flawless and wearing the right foundation gives me the confidence to face the world. I have been switching between two liquid foundations (one high end and one drugstore) for the past couple of years and love the medium to full coverage that they give me. Pür Minerals 4-in-1 Mineral Foundation is the first pressed foundation that I have tried and I am pleasantly surprised with the results. It glides on smoothly and evenly, providing a buildable medium coverage without looking and feeling cakey. Pür Minerals 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Foundation is super lightweight, creates a beautiful natural finish and it feels like I am not wearing anything. I am happy that it doesn`t break me out and it makes my skin even and healthy-looking. It takes literally a minute to apply it with my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush, it is not messy and I love that it has SPF15. This pressed foundation is my absolute must have and I already see myself using it a lot as my go-to product during the summer. It has a nice sturdy compact packaging with a mirror, which makes it perfect to carry in the purse and reapply as needed throughout the day. Pür Minerals 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Foundation comes in eleven different shades and in case if you are wondering, I am using Blush Medium which is a great match and would also be good even when I get a little tanned in the summer. Overall Pür Minerals 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Foundation would be perfect for anyone who want light to medium coverage foundation, that looks natural, doesn`t cake, is not messy and it takes less than a minute for application._________________________________I received this product complimentary for testing purposes. "I wear this wet-dry pressed powder, spf 20 foundation in Golden Glow. For reference, my Bare Escentuals color match is Golden Medium. JI Golden Glow is lighter, and less yellow than the BE Golden Medium, and more beige/light tan than gold, but it's the closest BE to IE match for me. Riviera and Suntan are wonderful colors for medium skin tones as well, but the undertones seem more "neutral", while Golden Glow is definitely for "warm" skin. The Jane Iredale compact is just gorgeous, and using it makes me feel refined and elegant, (and I need all the help I can get...!) When I was a child, my mother, aunts, and grandmothers would carry their Estee Lauder powders (for their noses) in artistic, ornate compacts. JI's heavy, gold colored, high quality compact makes me remember how much I longed to wear makeup just because it was pretty and fun to touch. This compact is nice to carry around to use powder as needed, but I like best to apply it in the morning as an all-over face foundation, because it lasts so long I rarely need touch-ups until late in the day. Like most mineral makeups this adds a small bit of healthy "glow", but in this case, it really is a healthy glow; not glitter, which makes my pores look 80x worse than they look without makeup. Also, unlike other mineral foundations (especially pressed ones), this doesn't cake up too badly around my eyes. My need for a traditional "matte" foundation has faded due to glycolic and retinol treatments, and, of course, age, but if this powder had existed when I truly needed long-lasting, shine-free foundation, I think it would have been a dream-come-true. Compared to all the other brands of mineral powders I've tried, Jane Iredale pressed foundation is the silkiest, has the best coverage, has no glitter, has sunscreen protection, and performs the best around my eyes without making me look like I'm 80. (I have to be realistic, at 44. Powders are going to accentuate lines. It's just the way it is. But I choose the trade-off of the accentuation of a few lines in order to cover my pores, and even out that annoying melasma. As far as coverage, refining skin tone colors, and looking smooth, this is superior to every other pressed mineral foundation I've tried. If you're looking for a "skin-like", or "no-makeup" look, this foundation probably won't work well. It's very comfortable, and it doesn't scream, "MAKE-UP!", but, at least on me, nobody would mistake it for bare skin. This has medium coverage when applied with a brush, but it can easily work as a full coverage foundation if applied with a sponge or powder puff, or wet. The price seems utterly ridiculous, and it's the one thing that kept me from trying Jane Iredale products, for years. Now that I've been using many of her products, I do see why they get away with the high price. They are more highly pigmented, color concentrated, and elegant than many other mineral brands, and their colors seem closer to the colors of real human skin than lots of other makeup. « less" - Beauty.com user
"I'm mid 40s. Used to use FitMe foundation and Olay products. No fuss. Low maintenance. Skin started changing in the last few years. Texture, super oily/big pores, sun spots, break outs, etc. Started doing a lot of research and decided to completely change my skincare and makeup regimen and especially include sunscreen. Decided on this foundation based on good reviews, decent ingredients, SPF and Beautipedia gave it five stars :). People complain about products causing acne but it's probably not the foundation and more likely to be the skincare. I eliminated products with fragrance and silicones and changed to water based products and started using chemical exfoliants to help with cell renewal. The combination that has been working for my skin type is cleanser with no fragrance (I use Clinique) , oil free moisturizer (PTR), Coola tinted matte sunscreen SPF30, primer to fill in pores/T-zone, followed by this foundation and lastly set it with a translucent powder. Makes my skin look healthy. Not overly dewey or matte. No oil for hours. Maybe need to blot once a day. Huge difference from where I was before using the right line up of products. I've had no break outs. This foundation indeed color corrects itself. It does not oxidize if you prep skin properly. Out natural oils will oxidize any foundation if not prepped properly to keep oils at bay. It is not high coverage. It is just as indicated moderate coverage. It can be sheered out to a lighter coverage and it feels like skin. Not cakey or thick just creamy. The price point is perfect between drug store and higher end and worth trying for everyday wear. It doesn't last all day. Maybe 8 hours before it may start to fall around oily areas like the nose but it's so important how you prep the face prior to and to set it with powder after. One thing to note is the shades in the light/medium range are either very orange or very pink. I have just about every undertone possible yellow, olive, pink, warm and neutral and it's so difficult to find a color match. Don't be afraid to sample colors and to mix two if needed. I found that WN46 golden neutral and CN70 vanilla worked very nicely and were a good match for my light/medium skin. You just need a drop as a bit goes a very long way. Don't use too much as this was not meant to be built to full coverage or you will give yourself cake face for sure! I've learned it's best to stay on the lighter side of the color range if you're unsure and add color with bronzer if needed or else you will end up with an overly tanned orange face and that does not look pretty. Also look at the color in natural light not under the store lights. Lastly, make sure you wash all this product off before bed time! Clinique Take The Day Off and follow with a cleanser and good night time moisturizer. 👌Hope this info helps as finding the perfect foundation is a real and ongoing struggle for so many of us :) Less" - ulta.com user

"I have drier skin. This foundation really is not as drying as many people say. I make sure to exfoliate my skin before I use the foundation. I put moisturizer and moisturizing primer before I apply it as well. It does oxidize a little bit. However, it is not as bad as the superstay foundation and for how cheap it is, it is not a big deal. It lasts the entire day. I would not say it is a matte foundation as loreal claims. I mean I do use moisturizer beforehand, but it is not totally matte. I do not use powder and throughout the day oil does not build too bad. Throughout the day, the more natural the finish becomes. It does not settle into fine lines anymore than any other good foundation would. It is full coverage. I have recieved tons of compliments on it. I totally recommend, as finding foundations that suit my dry skin is sooooo difficult." - mira user
"I've used Jane Iredale products since they first came on the market. I absoutely LOVE this line. The products I use the most are the mineral loose powder, blush, powdered eye shadow & eyeliners. I will never return to using liquid foundations. I've received sample sizes of other brands of mineral makeup & nothing compares to Jane Iredale. I'm hooked. The JI products I've tried provide great coverage without appearing like you put your makeup on with a trowel.. The products are long lasting (seldom need to refresh makeup during the day), the colors stay true after applying the product, no streaking, smearing/smudging & you will not leave traces of your makeup on clothing or anywhere else. Easy to remove at the end of the day & does not clog your pores. General overall appearance of my skin has improved since using JI. Throughout my life, my skin has been sensitive, oily & dry. I've never had a reaction to any JI product. Price is reasonable & products last for months. I use the products daily. I could be a self appointed spokesperson for the JI line. It is the best stuff I've ever used & I've been wearing makeup for-let's just say for many years. Do your self a favor & try any one of the Jane Iiredale products. You won't be disappointed. <span class="shop__a pd-reviews__translate-span">« less</span>" - Beauty.com user
"I got this product for free to review (Product Review Club).I tried this foundation stick for 2 days before writing a review. I got the 250 Bisque (W) as a highlighter. It was almost close to my skin tone so the results of me using it as a highlighter was not as visible as I wanted it to be. I have use highlighting powder in the past and I would say that this foundation stick is much better. The application is so smooth and a little creamy. It blends really well. I have large pores and it filled up my pores nicely and not cakey at all. I always have problems by my cheek area. Any foundation or concealer I use no matter what primer I have on first, still gets cakey and creasy. This foundation blended nicely and gave me a nice coverage. I use a damp blending sponge and also used an angled liquid foundation brush and they both worked really well. I like using it now to highlight my brows.I would say it is a light to medium coverage but very buildable til you achieve full coverage you wanted. It also blended nicely with the finishing powder I was using. I love that it is oil free and has a matte finish. It is not a very matte finish. I'd say it's in between dewy and matte.. but like 70% matte just enough glow that it makes the finish looks really nice. The SPF is an added bonus! I should say too that it is not transfer proof or smudge proof.. it is TRANSFER and SMUDGE resistant.. meaning there will still be minimal transfer and it will still budge. It is very light weight. I don't even feel like I was wearing makeup. I will continue to use this and would probably get the shade closest to my skin tone as my base foundation and get a dark one for contouring once my contour cream is done. I love how small it is and you can just take anywhere with you. My makeup on day 1 trying this product lasted for a good 9 hours til I have to remove it. My work involves running around and cleaning and my makeup was still on til I got home.I guess it all depends on your skin type. This will probably not be good for oily skin. Oh yeah, it wasn't cakey at all on my dry spots and covered it up pretty well. I like how easy it is to use this product and just glides on my skin. The price may be a bit in a higher range but I think it's worth it. :)Thank you again ChickAdvisor for the nice opportunity. « less" - chickadvisor.com user
"I got this powder because the reviews were good and because of the SPF in it. I just finished my entire compact (after it cracked, I might add...I didn't even drop it, it just slowly broke apart after a small dip started forming in the center from daily use). I have very light skin with faded freckles, light acne scars, and broken capillaries around my nose and I chose the lightest shade, "Me, Vain?" Champagne. As far as powder foundations go, this is the best one I've tried so far and the only one I've ever finished.First things first: the included brush and sponge are terrible, just throw them away. I used my Bare Escentuals foundation brush (which I hate, but it works) to lightly sweep the powder over my liquid sunscreen and concealer to just mattify my look a little. I like that you can easily build up your coverage with this powder. My skin has drier patches so I could really only do a light layer, but on days when I was hydrated and needed more coverage, I could easily buff a little more onto my skin and it still looked natural. I couldn't use this under my eyes to set my concealer because it settles into the fine lines and dry spots under my eyes and just makes it look like a cakey mess, though I'm not sure if that's because of this powder or my dry eyes or concealer choice. As for the capillaries around my nose...I usually just used the foundation, no concealer or anything else to avoid cakiness, and this powder did a good job of dulling down the redness. The capillaries were never totally concealed but I can tell you that I never go out anywhere without dipping a small concealer brush into this powder and putting it around my nose; it really worked to cover my capillaries that much. Some other thoughts: the powder never broke me out, I could easily put it over my oily skin as well as bad zits and not have them worsen. I wouldn't rely on this powder for your daily SPF though; SPF 15 isn't really that much and if you use a light layer like I did I doubt you'd get anywhere near the necessary coverage. It's not a heavy powder, it feels very comfortable to have it on for 12+ hours (although I only used a light layer). I touch up 2 or 3 times a day just to refresh my look, but that's because I live in Florida and just feel better when I touch up. It has very portable packaging, although the plastic part that clicks the compact closed broke on mine. As for the cracks and eventual shattering, almost every powder compact I've used has eventually broken due to daily use.Overall, I liked this powder and used it until it was gone. I get bored with cosmetics easily so I'm currently looking for a new powder, but I haven't found anything I like as much as this. I would definitely repurchase again and I highly recommend this product.A Sephora employee once told me that if you were to only use Benefit products correctly, your face would look flawless...I'm inclined to believe that's true. :) « less" - Sephora user

"I couldnt remember where I got my sample of Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua broad spectrum spf 15. I looked into every subscription beauty box I receive, including Macys Beauty Box. I ended up at Macys finding this wonderful, life saving foundation or teint as its referred as on the sample. I read the 2nd review listed in this thread and everything she said, I totally agree. You only need a pea size to cover your entire face. After I applied this teint, I had to take a DOUBLE TAKE in the mirror. I'm 57, soon 58. Enlarged pores are my nightmare. Not only does this teint loom like my own skin, it totally blurred my pores. In 6 hours and counting, it has not oxidized, has not settled into fine lines and has not become oily. This base actually looks just like skin. I take great care of my skin and spend the bulk of my splurges on high end skin care. Most days, I dont even wear foundation or a base. I tend to stay with BB Creams or skin tints. Just to even things out. Usually after using powder and setting spray, I good. But, I really havent been satisfied with ANY Brands foundations or skin tints lately until I used my sample of Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua. My skin is dry so its imperative I use a base that continues to look dewy but not greasy as my day moves forward. This teint looks just as fresh at 8:00pm as it did at 2:00pm. My complexion is a medium/lightbw/neutral undertones. I can go warm or cool. My sample is spot on as far as matching my skin tone. The sample is 30 BEIGE. I'm here to order the full size. Ladies , if you have dry skin and always find your base setting into fine lines and pores, this teint ix for you! 110%!! Sure, its a bit more expensive than some, and even more so than probably what youre use to spending but, if youre like me and reviewer NO. 2, BUY THIS! You will not regret it. The shade range is broad enough, you should be able to match up. « less" - Macy's user
"I use the color stick when I swim/surf/dive/boating on/ in the ocean. Not sure if this ad is for clear or color, but I use the colored tone ochre one so I can see where I am putting it! And it stays on through vigorous activities!!! No joke, I even put a dab on our the top front of our sboards and can reapply from there if need be. The texture to me is medium, i dab it on then spread it once I've warmed up and it doesn't dry my skin out. I dont mind the scent as i'm not using it really for 'makeup'. I have to use sunscreen daily and I use this on top for water activities, I would not use this as makeup..... I am looking into the compact for even more coverage, but this stuff is the holy grail for anyone who likes to be in/ on the water and not get burned when the sun is out for 11+ hours a day ( aloha from Hawaii) « less" - Macy's user

"Let me start by saying that by far this is The Best foundation I have tried till this day. I have used a range of products such as MAC, MAKE Up For ever, Chanel, & other CD foundations and none have given me the light look with full coverage and long lasting effect as this one.I believe to have a combination skin since in the summer my skin is oily around the T zone and chin and during the winter it could get a bit dry.Like others have mentioned I have been using this product now for over a 6 months and ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! It makes my skin feel like silk & it gives my face a porcelain look, exactly like the dolls. Does not evaporate like others when in the sun or in heat & no need for retouch.I usually do my make up prior to changing into the days wardrobe and the make up actually stays on the face and not the clothes. I have tried with primers and without, with setting sprays and without and the look is FAB.About the compliments, I can honestly say I get compliments almost on a daily basis, The best compliment was after more than 12 hours in a delivery room and not having the time to remove my make up at night the next day shift nurses asked me if I had gotten up early to do my make up for the baby visitors. I laughed and told them that the make up I was wearing was from the day before, talk about LONG LASTING without the retouch.I have recommended the product to a few people and as well as I have fell in love. Will definitely continue to purchase. "I've tried a few foundations from physician's formula that have actually been amazing (youthful wear, argan wear bb cream) but the shade range has been so bad that I could only use these if I have a tan. This one really surprised me with the shade range, the quality of the product and the packaging. I got the shade LW2 (the lightest warm shade) and it is a perfect match. For reference, I am close to the shade 120 Buff in Almay's Best Blend Forever foundation. I didn't notice any oxidation with this foundation. It has a medium coverage - but it looks smooth and flawless. it also doesn't pick up on any of my dry patches, or break up on me throughout the day as most foundations do. I apply this with a real techniques blending sponge (which is my preferred method with every foundation). It has a natural finish - I don't feel like I need to set it on my combo skin. Lastly, I wish this would have a higher SPF or no SPF at all. SPF 20 isn't enough for me to wear this without any other sun protection, and it may cause flashback. I have not tested it for flashback yet so I do not know if that will occur. As for the packaging, I personally love the large doe foot applicator. It's so easy to apply the perfect amount every time. I wish the bottle was plastic, not glass though. It feels very luxurious but I'm afraid I will break it if it drops.I received this product at a discounted price in return for my unbiased review. « less" - walmart.com user
"Shiseido Stick Foundation is a real favorite of mine- love the ceamy, moisturising finish, blends very well, is buildable. Everytime I wear it I get a compliment from my husband- "You look nice today!" Very good selection of colors. In the winter I use B20 for my medium fair complexion, but I think I will try blending it with B40 when feeling a bit pale as another reviewer mentioned. It gives a soft, dewy finish, slightly matte, not at all shiny, just very natural. Very easy to apply- I use a makeup sponge to blend. Very lightly fragranced. And compared to some other high end makeup, reasonably priced. I have tried Bobbi Brown Stick, but found it to be less blendable and didn't like the color selection. Love Sisheido-they get it right!" - Nordstrom user

"For starters, I'm in my 30's, have combination skin and implement a regular morning and night time moisturizing routine. After trying all of the cushion compacts I could get my hands on, I've settled on the this Age Defying cushion compact and adore this formula. Normally Amore's age defying formulas are preferred for more mature skin, but I liked the finish and felt more hydrated after I cleansed this formula off (with cleansing oil) more than the other Amore cushion formula. You have the option of using the pad to press on the foundation if you need a deeper coverage or you can use a face brush (I use the BB Full Coverage face brush) to apply it in a lighter manner. The coverage is very even and does cover an acne scar or two rather easily. My complexion is olive tone and I wear the 208 color (I also wear 5.25 in BB for reference). With my old routine, I did set my foundation with powder, but I don't need to with this foundation. I also am a person that works up a sweat easily and I can comfortably sweat through this foundation on a humid-warm day outdoors with feeling like my foundation may melt off. I used to have to make touch ups/blots due to some oil coming to the surface on my foundation mid-day, but I don't anymore with this foundation. I'm really happy with this cushion foundation and would recommend this foundation. « less" - Nordstrom user
"It was time for a new foundation. I had been wearing, of late, Loreal Visible Lift which is a great foundation for the price. Before that I had worn Lancome and then Cover Girl Simply Ageless, my favorite of the group. But, I needed something for my dry skin and the these just did not cut it. I was prepared, even on my tight budget, to pay whatever necessary, to get the right, HG foundation for me. I was looking for a product with good anti-aging ingredients, super moisturizing, and mainly a product which would not settle into my wrinkles and had some luminescence to it. it could not be overly matte either because as we know, matte makes older skin look terrible. Had to have a glow to it but not look too shimmery. It had to feel 'right' to me also.I researched and researched. I came home from Sephora armed with samples of highly rated foundations; Hourglass, Makeup Forever, Laura Mercier, etc. I tried all the samples I brought home and one of them seemed almost right, but not quite. I realized I had to have a cream foundation to get the moisturizing I need. I found this foundation. I actually ordered it, guessing at my shade. I chose the warm sun beige. I am light blonde with green eyes and olive medium skin. I was concerned this shade would have orange to it but it did not . It is a wonderful beige shade. It does not look at all like the sample on the site. I am realizing although this shade will work just fine for the 'pale' look, I want a little more color and summer is coming on, so I am ordering a shade or two darker as well. I do wish the EA site would give a description of all their shades (like most on Sephora site), to make it easier to select one. As it is, it does not give a description and you cannot tell some of the light shades from the darker shades. Hope they fix that. I know they say to go into a local store and try it but for some of us, that is difficult to do. ANYWAY, about this foundation...it is so fabulous! I doubt I will ever wear anything else. It meets all my requirements. It looks so great on, like I am not wearing anything at all on my face! it smooths out imperfections, makes pores look smaller, not too matte looking, and has a slight luminescence to it. It has a gorgeous finish. Mostly... it is moisturizing! Terrific for dry skin. You will love this foundation if you have dry skin , especially.Don't forget to order the sponge applicator for this. It is super high quality. It is only 15.00 and worth every penny. Actually, you could use this for any cream or liquid foundation. Love it! « less" - elizabetharden.com user
"I have combination skin. If you’re anything like me, powdered foundation can look very caked on. I never wore powdered for this reason. My face just hates it! That is until I tried this. I have this in two colors.1. The coverage is amazing. You can do sheer or more coverage.2. Makes your skin look flawless.3. Doesn’t oxidize in to a weird color. Still looks amazing after retouch or no retouch.Tip: if you find that you put too much powder on, grab a wet blender and dab face. This will give you more of a natural dewy look. I prefer this than a matte powdered look.I’m in love with this product as well as their Glow Performance and Ibuki line! Quality stuff! " - Macy's user
"This is hands down the best foundation I have ever had, so much so that I threw away my collection of foundations the moment I tried it. It's great for everyday wear because it looks so natural even from up close. It does not crease around my mouth like majority of liquid foundations used to after few hours. I have a normal/combination skin type and it seems to work nicely on both my oily nose and chin as well as on my dry cheeks. I love that it has absolutely no scent which for some reason bothered me the most about other foundations. The coverage is buildable but it probably won't cover blemishes entirely without concealer. It can take a little more time to apply than liquid foundation as you have to buff well and use small amount at a time but it is definitely worth the extra 5 minutes. Less" - lookfantastic.com user
"Bought this after reading the reviews. Two weeks before, exchanged my Teint Idole Ultra Wear. The color of my last jar was darker (and got darker as the day went on). Exchanged for much lighter color. Really liked the Teint Idole. I am 69 with dry skin. Was not told about Absolue Makeup even though I asked what my options were. Read the reviews and gave it a try. Love this make up. It is light, but covers well. Looks more natural than other foundations and brightens my skin with a dewey finish. My face feels moisturized until it is removed. Will be buying this again and again. " - Lancôme user
"This is my new favorite foundation.About my skin: I have yellow/neutral combination skin with an oily t-zone. I don't have any dry patches, minimal fine lines, and mild rosiness. My skin is not prone to break outs. I like using light foundation to even out my skin tone and reduce the rosy tones in my skin. A natural finish is of utmost importance.I am pretty fair (although not the fairest of the fair) and I use this in 10 Beige. I'm also 10 Beige in Vitalumiere Aqua - the colors match up. This foundation provides light to medium coverage (I like wearing it sheer) and is not drying at all. "Velvet" is a perfect descriptor for the finish. It is not dewy, but not matte and flat either. It does not settle into lines and wears well throughout the day. When it fades, it does so evenly and not in patches. It's nice on its own, but i love wearing Le Blanc de Chanel as a base under it, and I set it on my t-zone with MAC MSF or all over the face with an Hourglass Ambient Lighting powder for a subtle glow.I love this more than Vitalumiere Aqua, which I'm going to relegate to winter use. I'm really looking forward to using this through the summer. If you have similar skin concerns to me, I don't think you'd regret this purchase. « less" - Nordstrom user
"I am extremely happy with my Chanel Les Beiges compact purchase! I usually wear foundation and loose powder as a regular make up routine and use my compact only for touch up's throughout the day...but not lately! I was pressed for time one day didn't have time to do my usual make-up routine; so- I only used my Les Beiges compact powder on my face! OMG...I love it! I haven't been wearing my foundation as much (maybe on the weekends or date night)! It's light weight...feels like I have nothing on my face, yet has such a fresh blending finish and great coverage and healthy vibrant glow! I got many compliments on my natural glow! I am hooked! PLEASE DON'T EVER DISCONTINUE THIS PRODUCT! THIS IS THE BEST CHANEL COMPACT EVER! " - Nordstrom user
"I've found my new HG base in this product! I use this everyday and it has replaced my LM Oil-Free Tinted Moisturizer. I find that the finish is PERFECT. It's dewy and matte at the same time. Hard to describe but my friends have complimented me on the makeup and that it gives a dewy glow yet not oily looking. I also have worn this all night and never had to blot or powder. The LM TM looked good but it was on the shinier side and it required me to buff more into my face to blend. On the flip side, this is so easy to apply. I can apply it with my fingertips. It doesn't required extra buffing to blend in at all.I have #2 and it matches perfectly. From what I've read, even though there are only 3 shades - the shades are very forgiving. It is definitely buildable coverage and doesn't look cakey at all. Absolutely does not oxidize at all.Regarding the sun protection in this product. As a health care professional, I would recommend this to any patient. I prefer physical protectants versus chemical protectants such as avobenzene. It is much more stable and also better suited for sensitive skin since it just sits on top. This product contains titanium dioxide which falls into the physical category. This is also broad spectrum - UVA and UVB. I wanted to point this out since another reviewer that seems to be here to promote another brand made a claim that this is just a cheap sunscreen when it fact contains great ingredients.Overall - absolutely love. This is the first foundation/base I've purchased that makes me look forward to applying makeup. Also the first where I look forward to using it all up and buy MORE and MORE! « less" - Sephora user

"I don't like to use foundation with sunscreen, so I had been using Teint Miracle but it filled every pore and even if I moisturized my face beforehand, it made my skin look dry. I realized that at 52 I need a foundation with a little more moisture. I tried this one and luckily the woman at the counter found my correct color; it makes my skin look stunning. I still need to be careful applying between the eyebrows--skin seems very dry there, but the color is perfect and my skin looks luminous and smooth wearing it. It's more expensive, but it looks really good on my skin. Just wish it didn't contain unnecessary sunscreen." - Macy's user

"I received the L’Oreal Paris Age Perfect Radiant Serum Foundation to try for free from Top Box Circle. I have to admit when I first saw that I was given the Ivory 10 that I thought that it would be too light for my skin. I also thought the small tube wouldn’t last very long. But boy was I wrong with both of my assumptions!I applied the product sometimes with my fingers and sometimes with a brush. Either way worked extremely well for me and blended into my skin for a natural look. I had even skin tones and the foundation didn’t cake and actually softened my fine lines. And it doesn’t take much of the product to achieve your natural look!I have extremely sensitive skin and this foundation was amazing. I didn’t develop any reaction to the foundation and the scent was not noticeable at all. I applied the foundation in the morning and tried applying it sometimes after I put on a morning cream and sometimes directly on the face with no moisturizer. I wanted to see if there were any issues with dryness. There was no noticeable difference and I loved how my skin remained hydrated throughout the whole day even if I didn’t apply a face cream beforehand. The colour ivory blended well with my skin tone and blended extremely well for an all day look. I liked how my skin looked more alive and had a nicer tone and glow than normal. It was very lightweight and I like how you can’t “feel” that you have foundation on at all.I would love it if the foundation had some sunscreen built right into it. Outside of this one wish this is definitely something that will be added to my makeup routine. "I'm 24 and recently I've been struggling with acne and acne marks worse than when I was a teenager, so I went into Ulta ready to spend tons of money on a great foundation. What I found was that almost all of the high-end foundations clung to the small, nearly-invisible dry patches on my face (mostly around spots that were healing). I have oily to combination skin, so this was really a surprise! I had been using Colorstay (Shades 150 or 180 in the "Oily" line) for a while, but the lack of a pump made using it a hassle and a mess! So I decided to try this on a BOGO while repurchasing Colorstay...and I ended up liking this even better. For comparison, it's thinner than Colorstay while giving comparable coverage. The consistency makes it easy to blend all over my face and then go back over problem areas with another layer of foundation to augment coverage; this way, it doesn't look like I'm wearing a mask. My skin has definitely been improving and I can leave the house with just a thin layer some days. For reference, I'm a 2.0-3.0 (winter-summer) in UD Naked and I wear 10-30 in this line. I recommend this to everyone I know and even got my mom hooked. A must try! « less" - ulta.com user
"I bought this in natural beige (I'm Greek venezuelan, so I'm a light olive, but with dark hair and eyes). The ONLY reason I bought this was because I was VERY desperate. I had NO money for makeup and my smash box BB cream (which I wear in light/neutral or light/medium) was basically dead. I have very dry, red, acne prone skin. My acne is getting better, it's mostly red and sorta pimply cheeks now. The smash box did a good job of mostly covering the acne, but I had to use a little bit of concealer for redness. So I had very low expectations for this. I am a totally name brand makeup snob. I can't remember the last time I bought drug store makeup. Probably in middle school. I had actually bought this foundation a long time ago, but it stank and felt tacky. I however ended up trying it again since it was so highly rated. Let me tell you, it will take a miracle foundation for me to start buy that expensive stuff again. It is the perfect amount of coverage for me, it's perfect for my dry skin, and it blends flawlessly (I use the benefit foundation brush). It looked too pink when I put it on my hand at first (I have a somewhat yellow undertone, so I use yellowish makeup), but it covered my redness really well and it looks so natural and feels weightless. I never write reviews but the moment I finished putting this on I was so impressed I sat down and immediately wrote this. This is an amazing foundation. My only con would be that this might be a little to hard for beginners to use. It's a thick liquid consistency, and it might dry too fast if you aren't good at blending. I really recommend using a foundation brush." - ulta user

"God yes. If you're not aware of what Accutane is, it's a strong acne prescription drug that makes your skin extremely dry. It wasn't my first time taking accutane so I knew going into it what would happen to my skin. So I went to my local drug store and picked this one out-not knowing what I was getting into going into this. Ive never used a foundation by this brand but it was the only foundation that pretty heavily branded 'heavy glow', so I bought it (plus it was super cheap compared to others). Let me just say I never had high hopes for this foundation. I have an extremely hard time finding foundation that works for me and considering I was about to go through skin h*ll for the next 8 months I wasn't getting my hopes up. Long story short this foundation was a holy grail. I never once had any dry patches through a 12 or 15 hours I had this on. Occasionally if I knew I was touching my face a lot that day I'd have to quickly powder and blend my face some. that was really the only con. I applied beautifully and so smooth once you powder your face. My contour and highlight blended well with it and all in all Im super impressed. 2 months after I finished Accutane (finished my 3rd bottle) I ran out and didn't have time to go to the store and pick up more so I used some of my foundation I used before which was some high end pricey foundation. Lets just say I went through the day feeling like my face was the dessert, and looking so cakey. immediately that next morning I picked me up some more pro-glow. I will never go back to anything else and will honestly be devastated if they discontinue this. If you know you have dry skin or if you're on Accutane or some other skin solution that makes your skin dry PLEASE use this. I promise you'll never want to use anything else. This saved me from 8 months of h*ll because honestly I loved putting on my makeup knowing I was going to look glowey and flawless. « less" - ulta.com user
"I have tried a hundred foundations (MUFE, Charlotte tilbury, Giorgio Armani, Dior, elcie, Kevyn auction, MAC, Lancôme, Estée Lauder, benefit, too faced, tarte, la prairie, YSL, Tom Ford, the list goes on..) and I’m forever on the hunt for my forever foundation and this is the one! First. I frequently have a problem with color matching. I’m half white and half Japanese so it can be a little hard to match my sometimes sensitive skin. I got B20 and it is a PERFECT MATCH. I don’t think I’ve ever felt so confident wearing a foundation. It’s warm in undertone without making your skin look sallow and goes on like a dream. I use the Chanel sublimage la lotion supreme on cleansed skin and then follow with the Chanel solution 10 moisturizer that I was told can double as a primer. I let that sit for a bit and then apply the foundation and set it with the Le tient ultra tenue powder in the same shade. This foundation applies like a dream. I use a beauty blender because I’m lazy but do like to apply with a flat top brush, too. It’s buildable and goes on so smoothly. It doesn’t just sit on top of your skin either. It feels natural and lasts ALL day. I do tend to lean more full coverage and this definitely does that without looking cakey. I have never been excited to apply foundation but this one has changed my mind. I wasn’t going to go back to Chanel after hating the last foundation I was told to try (also an incorrect color match by the Chanel rep) but thought I’d give it one last try and I’m so happy with my purchase! My skin is normal but can get a little dry/oily depending on the season. It doesn’t accentuate my dry patches and the oily spots if I have any don’t cause the foundation to run or oxidize. This is the best foundation and it’s so underrated! Less" - Nordstrom user
"This foundation... oh my god. I was kind of hesitant paying such a heavy price tag for a product with no reviews and something I had not heard of but — you get what you pay for!So okay I have dry skin— sometimes I have patches depending on if I’ve over-exfoliated.Today I had a little boop-boop here and there and even ended up with a little facial bruising! Which—IMO was perfect for foundation testing if you ask me!I came home to this little gem waiting for me on the porch! (Come through flash overnight! ::Napoleon Dynamite upside down fist pump!::Between this foundation and the new LM concealer I’m freaking golden! Literally!(That came with today’s haul too and omg! Win!)It covered up the pin holes, bruising and didn’t cling to dry patches! It dried down (on me) to a really beautiful glowy not sweaty looking sheen! I was so shocked and in love I had to stop and boomerang to send it to my IMUDS so she could see for herself!I’ve been wearing it about 7 hours now; no touch ups and gym time later —and it’s like I just applied it! It hasn’t settled into lines, and still beautiful! It’s not full coverage by any means but it does cover up imperfections! Buildable for sure. I used a brush and went over that with a B.B.The other thing I want to mention is the shade. I have always had to mix more than one shade. I’m an odd mix of a Cherokee mom and Italian dad! I can never get a straight answer about my undertone — and I’ve been told “you’re like a dark light medium but not”. Okay thanks. So excited I was to be able to use just one shade! As of right now the only thing that can possibly turn me off about this product is if it breaks me out! (I am hesitant to write super review on a product I’ve only worn once tho.) Fingers crossed it doesn’t. If not — I’m going with “this is the best medium coverage foundation ive ever used!” I would absolutely recommend this to anyone that wants medium coverage buildable glow-worthy skin! « less" - Sephora user
"I have tried a wide variety of high end foundations in my day. This foundation changed my makeup game. I will start off with the only two downfalls of this foundation, the colour range and the cost. I am pale, but not extremely, and so lucky that the lightest shade of this foundation matches my skin perfectly. This foundation is NOT full coverage, but has light-medium coverage that can be built up. I would not recommend buying this if you are looking for a more full coverage foundation as you will just end up using the foundation too quickly to justify the price. I am lucky to have clear skin and just need to cover up a little redness/even out my skin tone. I use about 1/2-1 pump daily and I expect it to last me around 10 months- a year. I unfortunately cant see the remaining amount, but its been going strong for over 8 months now, so its high price tag doesn't bother me. I love this product so much that I already have a back up, my first time repeat buying a foundation and I wont be trying any other formulas as long as this is around. Now for the many many pros. I can use this foundation in the same shade all year round, since it is not too heavy I feel like it easily blends in with my skin tone- even when I am darker with a tan it still matches perfectly. I get a medium coverage from this foundation by buffing it in with a foundation brush in the winter to cover any redness, then during summer with a tan & more even skin tone It can be applied with a beauty blender for lighter coverage & a more sheer look. This foundation does not oxidize, crease, dry out, become greasy looking or separate on my face all day. I am lucky to have a normal skin type, more on the slightly oily side if anything and I do not need to blot or re-apply all day if my makeup is properly set (not sure if this would be the same in the case of a more oily skin complexion). In the winter this foundation does not stick to the odd dry patch I have, and I have heard that this foundation also works amazingly for people with extreamly dry skin. The people saying that this foundation is not long lasting probably just aren't prepping/setting their faces right, because this foundation lasts on my face all day without having to touch up and doesn't transfer onto any items that touch my face, I work two jobs, as a hygienist with a mask on, and as a server where I run around becoming sweaty for up to 12 hours at a time, and I think my face still looks pretty darn good at the end of a long day. Did I mention this foundation also has SPF 30 in it? I am only 25 years old and have always had fairly clear/tight skin so have not noticed a difference there, but have read many reviews that say this foundation also has firming/lifting & skincare properties, which also attributes to its price. I apologize for the novel review, but when online shopping for makeup I rely heavily on reading reviews. I first bought this on a whim and I am so happy I tried it! I hope this helps explain the high price tag and many benefits of this wonderful foundation :) « less" - Sephora user
"Chanel's Vitalumiere foundation is a wonderful choice if you are looking for a fairly sheer, natural-looking foundation with a hint of dewiness. The formula itself is very thin, which sometimes makes blending tricky, but with a good foundation brush it's a fantastic, very wearable foundation. It doesn't have a strong fragrance to it and it doesn't oxidize on my skin. Although it has a dewy finish, it can be topped with loose powder for a more matte effect, and the powder helps it last longer. I have had issues with the foundation not lasting throughout an entire day. It seems that sometimes it seems to sink into the skin a little too much, and by the end of the day there's little to nothing left of it. If you need moderate to heavy coverage, this is NOT the foundation for you. It may also not be the best for oilier skin types, as it feels very moisturizing and does give the dewy look, but if you have drier skin and like lightweight, natural coverage, this is definitely a good choice. I keep Vitalumiere in my rotation for those "good skin" days when I don't need the mask effect, or for days when my skin feels a bit drier than usual. Especially for winter, it's a great choice! « less" - Fishpond.com.au user

"A couple weeks ago I dragged my boyfriend with me to Sephora to go on my monthly makeup binge. I had been sticking with the same foundation for quite a long time, but had been doing some research on which brand of foundation would be the right choice for me. My skin isn’t too fond of a lot of products, so I had to pick wisely. I was familiar with the brand Tarte, as I absolutely love their eyeshadow palettes. I usually stay in my comfort zone (which tends to be all over the place, go figure. ), but I had been having some problems with my previous foundation. So, I decided to just go for it and buy the product. To my absolute surprise, it ended up being exactly what I was looking for.CUSTOMER SERVICEGenerally, I tend to be a very shy person and feel nervous about asking anybody for help. I’m a makeup enthusiast but not a professional, so sometimes I need help to find which product is the best choice. I know that many feel uncomfortable and almost intimidated by employees and don’t want to sound uneducated when asking about what a product does or even what a product is. Whenever I come into Sephora, employees almost always run up to me and greet me. Not only do they make you feel invited, but also they immediately try to help you figure out what you need. I’ve been to other makeup stores and employees act snooty or don’t even care to try to help. Or, when some employees from other stores try to help you, they don’t look at it through the customer’s eyes and select the product that would look best on them instead of the customer. The closest Sephora to me is about an hour commute to, so customer service is key when it comes to helping a customer find out which shade or product is the best for them. Overall, I couldn’t be more pleased with the way Sephora’s employees have helped me and treated me throughout the years.FORMULAThe formula and ingredients in any makeup will make or break your skin in the end. I’ve tried foundations from high end to drugstore that will look great in the day, but after use, will totally wreck my skin with acne and blackheads. My skin is super sensitive, so the hypoallergenic formula works absolute wonders for me. I’ve spent so long searching for a foundation or daily wear. The water-based formula has left my skin feeling smooth and looking fresh. I also have combination skin so sometimes my skin is too dry, oily, blotchy, or red so I also have a hard time finding a foundation that fits my skin. This foundation seems to work with any type of skin and diminishes any dark spots and redness I have on my face. This cruelty, paraben, and phthalate free foundation has done nothing but relieved my search for something that works for me.HOW IT FEELSThis foundation is so lightweight but yet STILL covers every blemish. It works amazing with other products and is absolutely seamless. Foundations seem to crease or not fully seep into your skin even with a primer. This product, with or without a primer makes skin look absolutely flawless. It has always been difficult for me to find a foundation that matches my skin tone because I am always between shades. When I found out that they just had 21 shades, I was kind of nervous. But when I received help from a worker, she found more than one shade that worked for my skin and I was so relieved! This foundation is extremely versatile for different skin types.WEARABILITYBecause I work in the food department, a lot of times I find myself at work worried whether I’m sweating through my foundation or if it’s rubbed off. I would say this product is for customers that are active in their daily lives. This foundation definitely lives up to its 12 hours. Most foundations I’ve bought tend to get cakey after a few hours of wear; they either turn your skin patchy or product is just lost throughout the day. The number one problem that I’ve had with foundation wear is when it transfers onto your clothes or even somebody else’s. Probably one of the most annoying things when it comes to makeup wear in general. Thankfully, I don’t have this problem now thanks to this product!I have been applying full-face makeup almost daily for around 6 years and I have tried everything from, above, and between high end and drugstore products. I feel as if my struggle of finding beautiful skin has been lifted off of my shoulders and I couldn’t be more pleased with Tarte. I would definitely recommend it to anyone, and will for sure be making another purchase. Less" - tartecosmetics.com user

"Background: I have acne-prone, Asian light-medium with warm tones, combo-oily skin with medium size pores and some hyperpigmentation. This did not break me out. Shade: 3/5. Not a fan of the selection of shades. I settled on Neutral, which (thank god) makes my skin a teensy bit darker but overall works (it makes me look healthy, rather than washed out) Packaging: 5/5! Definitely is hygienic, there's a dropper-like opening at the top of the tube that allows consistent dispensing of the foundation without allowing bacteria or other stuff to get inside easily. Very nice when compared with other foundations with pour-out hole openings Application: 4/5. I use my fingers, rather than a brush. 3 dots on each cheek, 2 on my forehead, 2 on nose, and 2 on chin, then I blend everything out. Takes me about 30 seconds, muchh faster than when I used mineral makeup. This is smooth and dries quickly, and doesn't rub off that easily. Coverage is medium, but can be built on to add more coverage. In fact, I dab a few more dots of this as a concealer for my trouble spots. Sunscreen coverage: this has spf 15, which is an OK amount but I live in sunny California so I use another SPF 30 (or more depending on the day) sunscreen before this Redness reducing claim: Clinique claims that over time, this will actually help minimize redness on the skin. Well, I've used it for approximately one month now and can testify that that is TRUE. It's amazing, I know. I couldn't believe it myself, but my skin truly looks less red and flushed (I break out easily and always had troubled flushed skin). Overall: Highly recommended if you suffer from facial redness (acne, rosacea, or eczema). « less" - viewpoints.com user
