Blended Face Powder And Brush by Clinique

"i just purchased my second jar of this fabulous powder, and i absolutely love it! i have very sensitive skin - even "clean" or "natural" drugstore brands irritate or dry out my skin - so powders can be tricky. but clinique's powder is just right - it creates a natual, matte, oil-free finish without giving your skin a cakey, "made-up," or fake appearence. it also keeps foundation and concealer in place very well throughout the day. i won't lie - this won't keep your makeup on forever. that said, i have pretty oily skin, so my makeup never stays on my face for an entire day. with primer (but no powder), makeup applied around 7 am will wear thin by about 2 pm. but with primer & this powder, my makeup lasts until about 6 pm. and an evening touch-up will last me well into the night, which is great for parties and late nights :) the "invisible blend" is my personal favorite - when i first saw it, i was skeptical about just how "invisible" it would be, but i ended up being pleasently surprised. it truly is undetectable! although i have very fair skin, i'm positive that it works just as well on deeper skin tones. overall, this is a really fantastic product for a great price. one jar lasts forever - in my case, 6-8 months. i highly recommend investing in a good-quality kabuki brush, though, since the complimentary brush is somewhat cheap and not as effective as it could be. {and for those considering other finishing powders, i HIGHLY recommend clinique's powder over bare escentual's mineral veil (too sparkly for me) and mufe's hd microfinish powder (just seemed unnatural and drying to me). hope that helps! } <span class="shop__a pd-reviews__expand-link pd-reviews__translate-span" data-hide="1565994422010241484-full" data-show="1565994422010241484-short" jsaction="pdui.tvc">« less</span>" - Sephora user

Double Matte Oil-Control Pressed Powder by Estée Lauder

"I have been looking for a powder that I could use as foundation....and I have found it. This powder provides medium coverage and never looks cakey. It does a good job of keeping the shine down in my T-zone without looking dry or powdery. It applies smoothly and does not change color or darken throughout the day. It is also truly matte....no weird sheen, sparkles or glitter...so it looks like your natural skin, but better. I have brown hair and green eyes and have medium-tan skin tone. I got the Medium and it is perfect. If you are trying to decide between Light and Medium, I might recommend that you try the Light first...you can always make it a little darker by dusting on some bronzer. Since it is a powder, and I am 59 years old, I was concerned that it might settle into the wrinkles and fine lines around my eyes....but it does not do that. I hope they never stop making this. Less" - esteelauder.ch user

True Match Super Blendable Powder by L'Oreal

"Env: developmentI was shopping for foundation at Walgreen's recently, and ended up buying several brands of foundation and some other makeup items,as well. (I love Walgreen's "buy one get one half off deals!")One of the items I purchased that day was **L'Oreal True Match Super-Blendable Compact Makeup.** and I really like it a lot.I had to go to a memorial service, during the afternoon, and I wanted more cover than a mineral makeup but I didn't want to look too "made up", either. This foundation provided the exact amount of cover and the exact color I was looking for. This is a compact, moist foundation, that comes with a thin sponge on the reverse side of the makeup and a small mirror on the sponge applicator side, which is separate from the foundation side. The mirror comes in very handy and the sponge is soft and allows me to build the L'Oreal True Match Super-Blendable Compact Makeup as little or as much as I want. The makeup goes on smoothly with it's sponge,it makes my face look soft and smooth, it stays where it's put for quite a long time, and it doesn't feel heavy or clog my pores at all.I have very dry skin, and I always moisturize well before applying foundation, but some foundations still seem to make my dry skin look uneven and even more dry. That's not the case with this foundation, thank goodness! It doesn't dry my face out at all, but it covers imperfections very well and it doesn't sink into my fine lines...it covers them and makes them less noticeable.Another terrific thing about this foundation is that the "True Match" system really does work wonderfully! There's a plastic see through card hanging on the shelf where True Blend is sold. You hold your wrist under that card, where there are small spots of each color of makeup available. When the spot on the card becomes invisible on your wrist, you've found the perfect color for your skin tone! It takes the guess work out of buying the correct color of foundation, and it really does it very well!My true match shade now, before being in the sun yet, is called Natural Beige, but I will be switching to Sun Beige soon, I hope.In any case, there are 19 colors available from which you can choose, so I'm sure you'll easily find your "True Match" color.I like the natural but smooth and polished look **L'Oreal True Match Super-Blendable Compact Makeup** gives my face very much. It's a winner, in my opinion!Env: development Less" - viewpoints.com user

Sheer Finish Pressed Powder by Bobbi Brown Cosmetics

"I am a warm beige (3.5) in Bobbi's Natural Finish Long Lasting Foundation. I also have very, very oily skin. This is my everyday powder and by far the best I have ever used! I alternate between Sunny Beige for winter, and Warm Natural for summer. I also sometimes use Warm Natural as a subtle contour powder in the colder season, when my skin is lighter. I love this powder because it sets my makeup very well and lasts quite a while. It also gives your skin a nice matte finish when you first apply it; after a couple of hours, you get that lovely 'dewy look' which I usually can't achieve with regular foundation because my skin ends up too shiny. If you're after coverage, then I suggest the Illuminating Finish Powder Compact. This is made to be worn over liquid or mineral foundation, and will not provide extra coverage. The shades are subtle, but the colour payoff is just enough so that I can just wear my 3.5 Warm Beige foundation all year round and just change my shades of sheer powder instead, when my skin colour changes with the season. It's handy because I don't have to get colour matched for foundation every season! I feel the selection of shades do cover a lot of different skin tones. If you only use a little bit of concealer instead of foundation, then this is also perfect to set the concealer, and will give your skin a more blended and even look. This does not set into lines, at least not in my experience, and when you touch up, it does not cake, nor does it feel like you're wearing powder. The packaging is simple, sleek and classic, and it's the perfect size with a decent mirror; I always carry it around in my bag or clutches. I really only have to touch up once or twice a day. I'll put a bit more on if it's a really hot and humid day or if I'm going out at night; Reapplying once before you go out will usually last the rest of the night. I never use the sponge that comes with this, but still keep it in the compact to protect it so the powder won't shatter as if I accidentally drop it out of my bag (I've never actually had the pan of powder break/shatter on me). I instead cary around a small kabuki brush and use that to apply this powder on, as I feel it gives a more natural and even finish, while also applying just the right amount and does not waste as much product. I also find it more hygienic to use a kabuki, because I can easily spray it with brush disinfectant every day or so. The included sponge would be more difficult to clean, and will not last long if used regularly. If you also have oily skin, this works well with Bobbi's oil control lotion. This powder is pretty good value for money as it usually lasts me quite a while, and I use it almost everyday! The loose and the pressed powder from Bobbi are actually exactly the same, but get more if you buy the pressed one and they are both the same price. <span class="shop__a pd-reviews__translate-span">« less</span>" - Nordstrom user

Magic Star Setting Powder by Jeffree Star

"I’ve only read & seen very negative feedback & reviews about this concealer but my experience with it has been nothing but positive! I really love the soft, smooth creamy texture. It glides on so easily & only a small amount is needed as it goes a long way. It gives light coverage that melts into foundation with the lightest touch & gives a lovely natural finish, not looking at all heavy or cakey. I’ve found it works best setting under the eyes with a very light dusting of loose powder, this way I had minimal creasing - my under eyes ALWAYS crease no matter what i use or do, but this concealer is one of the best I’ve found for reducing it, which I know is the opposite to what most people have said! I use a small amount of pressed powder to set the concealer on any marks/blemishes on my face & it gives me a light natural finish I love. The shade is the perfect match for my pink toned pale skin! A bargain for the money. I also use a darker shade to contour (c9) & it works perfectly! Less" - beautybay.com user

Sexy Mama Anti-Shine Translucent Powder by theBalm

"I was very nervous about buying this bronzer. I have light/medium olive toned skin and the "dark tan" shade of this bronzer intimidated me. I was looking to replace my Benefit Hoola bronzer with something that would work as well but have packaging that is more travel friendly. Looking at the color and swatches online I thought it would be way too dark and look ridiculous on me. However, this bronzer is perfect and exactly what I was looking for! It is a dark shade but it applies beautifully. It's highly pigmented but blendable and buildable to any effect I am looking for. You can go for a light bronze look, or a very contoured look. I love it on my pale winter skin, yet I know it will still show up on my tan skin in the summer. Very versatile all year round bronzer. And the packaging is so sleek anda ideal for travel! <span class="shop__a pd-reviews__translate-span">« less</span>" - Beauty.com user

Beyond Matte HD Matifying Powder by Jane Iredale

"When I was in high school, I used Clinique and Shisheido make up but it often made my skin either too flaky and or too oily. It did not cover very well and often made my skin look like I was wearing a pound of make up. On a very lucky happenstance, I went to my doctor for a check up and she looked at my skin and said "how about you try this line of make up i sell here its the first ever mineral make up and its really great for your skin" and I said sure! She gave me the golden glow (i now use warm sienna its a bit lighter) and from that day on, I never used another product but this on my face. The coverage is miraculous. The texture is amazing. Anytime I'm sick or have stayed up all night from studying, I would wake up looking like a monster but once I put my pressed powder on, viola! Perfect skin instantly! It covers ALL my acne ALL my red marks ALL my pores smoothes out ALL my wrinkles and just makes my face porcelain perfect. In fact, that is what my old high school friends used to call me, porcelain doll ALL because of this powder. I am now 27 and I TRIED bare minerals and those other mineral things and anytime I use it, my face would break out (I wanted to save some money because JI can be pricey) but I then realize, to heck with it! This is an investment for my face I don't mind shelling out a bit more if my face is safe and healthy using an amazing product like JI. YES YES YES I RECOMMEND THIS!!!!!!! you won't regret it its the best product out there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I also use their daytime pallet for my eyes and their eye liner and their rose dawn quad bronzer they are alll AMAAAAAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! « less" - lovelyskin.com user

Superpowder Double Face Makeup by Clinique

"***i have oily skin so i thought this would help reduce the shine but it made me break out, and i normally don;t if i do it;s like one pimple but this gave me a few. and it didn;t last very long. put it on in the morning took the bus to school, and it was already coming off. :S.******gives awsome matt coverage makes my complexion look awsome. i recommend it for people that on somedays their oil production is out of control.****** have very oil skin, so in the summer time my face is very shine which i don't like and this sheer pressed powder works great reduces the shiny on my skin and this color is perfect for me... i ****** carry this around in my bag everyday, it's great sheer coverage that gets rid of my mid-day shine.******Since I have naturally oily skin, this powder really helps me stay looking shine free and not like I just came from the gym (even when I haven't).******I love this powder, i got the invisible matte. It's great, it does a wonderful job keeping shine away. Also, it never looks cakey, no matter how much you put on.******I like dusting this on my t-zone where my skin is oily. My powder has a bit of little shimmer so it isn't completely matte. This doesn't have full coverage, so it's perfect if you need just a little bit and not over doing it.******While I don't have much experience with pressed powders, I have a lot of experience with very oily skin, and while this product did temporarily take care of my shine, it did NOT have any oil-absorbing qualities. The sheer coverage is good, but I have to reapply it several times throughout the day to control the shine and if I touch any area on my skin after I use the powder, it's still very slick and oily. Maybe it works better on people with less oily skin.******Great product alone or to set foundation, however every time I use it, I get red irritated patches around my eyes. I'm not sure what's in Cliniques products, but the skin around my eyes can't tolerate it. It does reduce shine & oiliness though!******I have mixed feelings about this powder. It doesn't last all day, but it actually reduces the shine on my face for about the first half of my day. It does even things out on my face though, but I guess I'm just not that impressed with this product.******I love this powder! I have EXTREMELY oily skin, and I have been using this every day since I bought it 2 weeks ago. Its great. I put on my oil-control moisturizer and mattifier, then I dust this powder over my face. I wear the transuscent one. It never cakes up on me, its as light as air, and keeps my face from being shiny for hours. That's really saying something, given the fact that if I planted an oil derrek on my forehead, I'd strike it rich!******I use it after applying Almost Makeup on my face. Love the sheer cover of the powder and it definitely helps with my oily appearance. I still have to blot during the day, but my face doesn't look as shiny as it used to be when I do. A pretty good product for a good price!******Pretty decent powder, gets the job done. If I'm out all day, I definitely need to reapply it and/or blot the oil on my face, but it does help set my foundation. Doesn't provide any coverage on its own, but the color isn't so white that it looks chalky on your skin.***** ** ** *I needed a compact for touchups at my wedding and a friend suggested this one. It did the job perfectly. Took away the shine through many dances, hugs, and kisses and never felt cakey or looked like I had makeup on. Very natural shine reducer. blended really well with my other makeup.* **** *Other than mascara, it was the only makeip I took on my honeymoon. It toned down any minro redness I got from the sun but let my natural color, tan come through.* ** <span class="shop__a pd-reviews__expand-link pd-reviews__translate-span" data-hide="2695373551646327228-full" data-show="2695373551646327228-short" jsaction="pdui.tvc">« less</span>" - viewpoints.com user

Lucidity Translucent Pressed Powder by Estée Lauder

"I'll admit I don't wear pressed powder very often, but I still felt the need to have an excellent one on hand, and I found 'Lucidity' to be the best choice for me.'Lucidity' feels wonderfully light and comfortable on my face and helps keep my foundation looking fresh and natural upon initial application as well as with subsequent touch ups if/as needed. It yields a lovely, soft velvety finish effortlessly, blending in to my foundation seamlessly.I also like that 'Lucidity' doesn't seem to contain any oil controlling ingredients as this has the potential of making my skin dry and uncomfortable. " - esteelauder.ch user

The Powder Room Translucent Setting Powder by pretty vulgar

"Let me start off by saying I am middle eastern with olive medium tan skin and an oily face that can fry a fish fillet. I have tried countless amounts of setting powders and good lord I think I have found THE ONE! I have tried the ever so lovely Huda and Laura but I’m telling you, this powder beats them all. Hourglass? Becca? Tarte? Psshhh not even close. This powder is perfect for baking and surprised it’s fine enough for under the eyes. It’s translucent with no white cast. Also it’s just matte. Pure matte, no fuss. If you want dewy, you can add some ambient powder but this bad boy with soak up all that oil on your face without making it look cakey, dry or crepy. I don’t know how they managed this formula. Laura is great but dries me out then my face tries to overcompensate and oils up, making the powder look cakey. Huda just doesn’t cut it, I keep reapplying and ends up cakey. Everything else makes me super oily and just lays on top of my skin. PV actually seeps in and keeps soaking up everything while still keeping you look fresh all day. This is perfect when combined with hourglass ambient lighting powders, gives the perfect amount of matte and glow that keeps your make up looking amazing all day. I took a pic to show how my make up stayed put without reapplying or blotting for 9 hours. Just give it a try Less" - Sephora user

Hyaluronic Hydra-Powder by By Terry

"I'm a long time beauty junkie and I NEVER write reviews. But, I have to share how much I love this powder! Yes, it is pricey but it's totally worth the investment! I have very oily skin and I wear glasses....not a wonderful combination for a makeup lover. I saw Makeupbytiffanyd talk about this and thought...why not!? I've tried so many powders before; Laura Mercier, Tarte, Charlotte Tilbury, Becca, you name it. Nothing really kept me oil free longer than 20 minutes, god forbid I put on my glasses or sunglasses. Forget it! my makeup would move all over the place or just be gone! But this! This stuff is amazing!! It doesn't look cakey or chalky on my skin, it blends in really nicely, it keeps oil away for most of the day and my makeup stays in place and doesn't budge all day! even with my glasses on! I'm very happy I decided to invest in this, not only does it do all the things you want a powder to do but, it doesn't clog my pores or break out my skin. Overall very happy and will continue to repurchase this in the future. Less" - Nordstrom user

Studio Pro Matte Finish Pressed Powder by BH Cosmetics

"About my skin: - Clear, no acne, just basic discoloration and pores. - I get very oily, so I use Becca primer and Porefessional primer before application of this product and any foundation. - I cleanse with Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser. - I moisturize with Cetaphil DailyAdvance. - Before BH Studio Pro powder, I used Chanel Double Perfection Lumiere (they were gifts, I wouldn't spend the money). Review: BH Studio Pro gives a blurring effect.. It's one of those descriptions you read that you have to experience to understand. It is matte but not flat. It's the perfect combination for us Oily girls when we first put on makeup, our face may normally seem dull, VERY matte and dry looking, but give it 15-30 minutes, and the oils on the face blends in with the makeup, giving the skin the perfect supple balance. Well, with this powder, I notice it gives that balance the moment of application, and stays that way for 5-6 hours. I will blot lightly with soft tissue after 5-6 hours and the color still stays. After the blotting, reapplication/ touch-ups do not add cakeyness to the face at all. And also, even without blotting, reapplication/ touch-ups would still look flawless. I love this powder! It's so silky AND MATTE, it's what all us Oily girls want. The lustious skin look, without looking too greasy or too dull! Give this a try! I mean, look at the price. It's too awesome I purchased last week in #230 #235, I mix the color together for more summer glow, but using #230 alone is fine also. Look at their youtube video to view the colors better. Now it is out of stock! I hope this means people like the product and BH will never stop selling it ;-) <span class="shop__a pd-reviews__expand-link pd-reviews__translate-span" data-hide="732014944536342961-full" data-show="732014944536342961-short" jsaction="pdui.tvc">« less</span>" - bhcosmetics.com user

The Makeup Translucent Loose Powder by Shiseido

"I bought this loose powder back in May 2012, and I'm just now starting to run out (June 2013). This product has lasted me a little over a year, and I use this 5-6 days a week. Other powders turn my foundation color darker or orange, but this powder does an effective job at setting my foundation without changing the color. I love how lightweight it feels and it is worth every penny. I have acne scars, oily skin, uneven skin tone, and dry spots. This powder has not irritated the dryness of my face. For max coverage, I'll sweep a bit of it with my finger onto my t-zone area and it helps with the oily areas. I have finally found my setting powder!" - Sephora user

Neutralizing Mattifier Soft Focus Translucent Powder by pacifica

"I love the Pacifica brand and I purchase their CC cream regularly. I wanted to give this powder a try because I have very oily skin/combination and I am impressed so far. It did take some trial and error for me - I first applied it over my NARS tinted moisturizer. That was a no go - it ended up looking really cakey and fake to me just an hour or so into the day. The same thing happened when I dusted this powder on top of the Pacifica CC cream. So I tucked the powder away for a few days thinking it was a waste. Then I figured I should just give it a try by itself. I've been wearing light liquid makeup for awhile now, mainly because when I turned 30 it seemed like powders sadly just didn't work for me on their own anymore. But when I tried this powder alone and after my morning Ordinary routine, WOW. My skin looks flawless. And the best part is that it does the best job of keeping oil at bay, better than any other powders I've tried (you name it, I've tried them). My skin is extremely finicky, so ymmv, but a few things I have noticed to make the most out of this powder and to get the most natural look with my skin type: wear alone (I use the Ordinary azelaic acid solution underneath in the a.m.), do not touch-up with a heavy hand during the day (I've noticed I'm better off to just blot during the day versus touching up with more of this product - that's when it can start to get unnatural looking for me). I recommend giving it a try if you have sensitive, oily, finicky skin as I do. The coverage is great for blemishes and uneven skin tone, and the best part is how I look dewy and glowing halfway through the day - NOT like a grease bucket. I strongly believe this more natural dew versus oil pan effect has something to do with their natural ingredients. Pacifica again for the win! « less" - ulta.com user

Diorskin Forever & Ever Control Loose Powder by Dior

"Diorskin Forever & Ever is a great powder that easily keeps most of it’s promises. I’d yet to encounter a powder, loose or pressed, without any hint of color-especially when it’s the color of talcum so the claims of “invisible, sheer & one color for all” seemed like a sales ploy. It’s actually true. It doesn’t need to blend at all because it’s impossible to tell if a person has any on.It looks invisible, but happily, it’s not. It doesn’t dry out my skin or appear cakey. It hasn’t aggravated my acne prone t-zone. It works at eliminating shine & setting makeup. It doesn’t settle in fine lines or wrinkles leaving a visible line after a few hours wear.An excellent silver mini-Kabuki brush is included. I’ll keep the brush long after the powder is gone. The price is high, especially compared to drugstore brands. I’m sure there exists a less expensive invisible loose powder that works as well but I’m happy enough with Dior’s that I’m not looking for anything else. « less" - Sephora user

Synchro Skin Invisible Silk Loose Setting Powder by Shiseido

"This powder applied flawlessly. I have dark skin and this doesn’t cause me to look ashy in anyway when I use it that way I’d use my other setting powders. It’s really light weight, when wearing it I don’t feel it on at all. It’s always comfortable. I have really sensitive skin and get really back contact dermatitis from products and this hasn’t caused me to have any of bad or adverse reactions at all. This also prevents under eye creasing of concealer for me. i love how this loose powder comes with its very own powder puff since most of the loose powders I own don’t. I would definitely recommend and continue to repurchase. " - Sephora user

PureMatte Finish Powder Refill by Jane Iredale

"I wear this wet-dry pressed powder, spf 20 foundation in Golden Glow. For reference, my Bare Escentuals color match is Golden Medium. JI Golden Glow is lighter, and less yellow than the BE Golden Medium, and more beige/light tan than gold, but it's the closest BE to IE match for me. Riviera and Suntan are wonderful colors for medium skin tones as well, but the undertones seem more "neutral", while Golden Glow is definitely for "warm" skin. The Jane Iredale compact is just gorgeous, and using it makes me feel refined and elegant, (and I need all the help I can get...!) When I was a child, my mother, aunts, and grandmothers would carry their Estee Lauder powders (for their noses) in artistic, ornate compacts. JI's heavy, gold colored, high quality compact makes me remember how much I longed to wear makeup just because it was pretty and fun to touch. This compact is nice to carry around to use powder as needed, but I like best to apply it in the morning as an all-over face foundation, because it lasts so long I rarely need touch-ups until late in the day. Like most mineral makeups this adds a small bit of healthy "glow", but in this case, it really is a healthy glow; not glitter, which makes my pores look 80x worse than they look without makeup. Also, unlike other mineral foundations (especially pressed ones), this doesn't cake up too badly around my eyes. My need for a traditional "matte" foundation has faded due to glycolic and retinol treatments, and, of course, age, but if this powder had existed when I truly needed long-lasting, shine-free foundation, I think it would have been a dream-come-true. Compared to all the other brands of mineral powders I've tried, Jane Iredale pressed foundation is the silkiest, has the best coverage, has no glitter, has sunscreen protection, and performs the best around my eyes without making me look like I'm 80. (I have to be realistic, at 44. Powders are going to accentuate lines. It's just the way it is. But I choose the trade-off of the accentuation of a few lines in order to cover my pores, and even out that annoying melasma. As far as coverage, refining skin tone colors, and looking smooth, this is superior to every other pressed mineral foundation I've tried. If you're looking for a "skin-like", or "no-makeup" look, this foundation probably won't work well. It's very comfortable, and it doesn't scream, "MAKE-UP!", but, at least on me, nobody would mistake it for bare skin. This has medium coverage when applied with a brush, but it can easily work as a full coverage foundation if applied with a sponge or powder puff, or wet. The price seems utterly ridiculous, and it's the one thing that kept me from trying Jane Iredale products, for years. Now that I've been using many of her products, I do see why they get away with the high price. They are more highly pigmented, color concentrated, and elegant than many other mineral brands, and their colors seem closer to the colors of real human skin than lots of other makeup. « less" - Beauty.com user

Loose Powder by chantecaille

"I’ve used close to a dozen loose powders. I’m 53 with normal skin and a slightly oily t-zone. I use a light hand with all powders to set my concealer and foundation. This one as beautifully, blurs fine lines, and gets more luminous as the day goes on. I wouldn’t describe it as mattifying the way I use it but I also don’t like a matte finish. It’s a beautifying product and will last me for years. One observation about negative reviews: it’s not the product. Skin is different. We apply makeup differently. We want different things from a powder, etc. If you got a bad result, please remember that it’s just your experience. There is no reason to be so negative. " - Nordstrom user

Nude Finish Illuminating Powder by Bobbi Brown Cosmetics

"I was sent this gorgeous new powder by Bobbi Brown to try as a thank you for being a loyal customer. The Nude Finish Illuminating Powder is housed in a beige compact, with magnetic closure and includes a handy mirror. The compact is the same size and style as the Brightening Finishing Powders.I was sent the Nude Finish Illuminating Powder in 'Nude'; which is a great match for my (Bobbi Brown matched) 'beige' skin tone. Although I also see this working well with 'warm beige'; which is my usual summer colour. The powder itself is a pretty mix of.....well.... nudes! In a similar style to the brightening finishing powders the Nude Finish Illuminating Powder includes 6 squares of slightly different coloured and textured powders - with the lightest one being slightly sparkly, one being quite pearlescent, one being slightly bronze in tone and more matt and the remaining ones somewhere in the middle.I received the Nude Finish Illuminating Powder a week ago and have worn daily since. I have used it as a finishing powder over a variety of different bases - tinted moisturiser, Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick, Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation and a mineral powder foundation. I used my Bobbi Brown face blender brush to apply the powder all over my face over the top of a light sweep of bronzer and cream blusher. I also used some of the pearlescent section in the inner corner of my eyes to help brighten my eye area. The powder is marketed as leaving the skin glowing and it really does! The effect is best described by the French 'bonne mine'. It blends the makeup, softens the look and adds a healthy glow that's actually quite hard to come by. I've tried quite a few 'bonne mine' powders, by other cosmetic companies, but have found them too sparkly, too obvious somehow. Bobbi's Nude Finish Illuminating Powder is much much better! And it lasts all day - even after running around after my energetic preschool twins all day!I have Bobbi's Brightening Finishing Powders in both Brightening Nudes and Bronze Glow. I use and like them both but find them slightly too sparkly, for my taste, to use during the day. The Nude Finish Illuminating Powder is less sparkly and even in direct sunlight the sparkle isn't at all obvious. If you found the Brightening Powders too sparkly for day too then I'd say give this powder a try.Overall I love this powder - I've just found a new favourite and I can see this being a repeat purchase in the future. BareSkin Perfecting Veil by bareMinerals

"first of all, i HATED mineral veil. it made my skin itch & felt very heavy, so i'd never use it and i'd end up having to touch up my foundation throughout the day.i bought this with complexion rescue b/c other reviews said it had a very dewy finish, which it does. this is perfect for the CR and the bare skin foundation when you don't want so much shine. it mattifies and makes my skin look airbrushed, and keeps the oil at bay. and seriously, it lasts all day! i might have to touch it up once, if even. no itching, and feels so light, unlike the mineral veil.i wear fairly light in the original foundation, vanilla in the CR, and Bare Shell in Bare Skin, so i got the light/medium. it doesn't change the color of my makeup, it just looks perfect.the only thing i don't like is the stupid little pad that comes with it. when i apply it in the morning, i just use one of my other brushes. i also have one of the foundation compacts, so i just switch out the pad for the brush that came with the compact. this stuff can be messy, but that's not a deal breaker for me. keep the plastic cover over the veil-helps keep the mirror clean. Less" - bareminerals.com user

Poudre Universelle Compacte Natural Finish Pressed Powder by Chanel

"This powder is absolutely amazing! It is so finely ground and it goes on beautifully. You can hardly see it, yet the difference it makes is truly substantial. It sets liquid foundation WITHOUT enhancing fine lines. It also covers pores without settling into them. It is very lightweight and natural looking. It does not look caked on like you’re wearing too much makeup. It does a great job of controlling shine, while not making you look too matte or dry. I don’t need to touch up until 6 hours after application (and even then I need the tiniest amount to touch up).I purchased the ’30 Naturel’ color. I apply it with a large, fluffy powder brush to set my liquid foundation: Chanel Perfection Lumiere liquid foundation (AMAZING!). " - Nordstrom user

Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Powder / Pressed by MAC

"i started off with studio fix compact w/t fondation I found a new love that day. love that stuff too, it started the ball rolling to trying mac's full line. i cant believe the quality of everything ive tried. no wonder its used by make up artists and worn by models and on red carpets all the time.I totally love this stuff. i have the pickiest skin ever. its sensitive and dry and oily and gets breakouts..I get it all.. this stuff doesn't give me any problems. it makes my skin smooth.. my skin gets patches. this stuff evens it out and helps ALOT with the redness if not takes it away. (depending on how bad it is that day) i don't wear make up all the time so i thought this stuff would feel heavy but NOPE! it goes on rubs in smooths everything out and makes my mac makeup.(which i only started using on my honeymoon last June of 2010and ill never change. I'm trying everything over time and so far soooo good! mac stays on really well)this stuff makes it even better. love it. it really makes a difference. i always thought primer was just a gimmick Have to say i was totally wrong there. no matter your skin type u should definitely try this stuff its very worth the money. and I've still got my first bottle. i bought this stiff at least 9 months ago. u only need about 3/4 of the size of a pea. IF THAT. seriously don't use more or you'll be simply waisting it. and this is not something u want to waste. its practically worth its weight in gold or more!!!!!. GIVE IT A GO. I BET YOULL LOVE IT. « less" - M·A·C user

Ultralucent Setting Powder by cinema secrets

"i have this in the light shade and experience no flashback or white cast. i have always had trouble keeping my t zone mattified and this is the only powder that does it and keeps it mattified without getting greasy/slick a few hours through the day. it is also the best for setting my undereyes without being too drying like the laura mercier is. since i have dry skin in all areas other than my tzone, i dont ever bake so havent used this to bake and wouldn't recommend baking for dry skin types. it doesnt cake up or dry out my undereyes at all like the laura mercier tends to do. it works better for me than the cover fx or laura mercier in both the skin tone matching and tzone mattifying. to avoid powderiness, my favorite brush to apply any setting powder with is the elf round kabuki and i just stiple and press. i found the laura mercier a more powdery finish and harder to wipe away. it is now my go to and i wont be repurchasing laura mercier or cover fx. i also noticed the scent of the powder and was worried about that however once on the face it's not noticeable at all. my skin is very sensitive, especially to scents, and is not irritated by it at all. it smells like aveenos soothing lotion. all in all, i use much less of this powder than others in order to get my desired effect, it's cheaper, works better, lasts a lot longer and matches my skin better than other powders, so it is now my go to setting powder. <span class="shop__a pd-reviews__translate-span">« less</span>" - Sephora user

Poudre Premiere Mat & Translucent-Finish Loose Powder by Givenchy

"First off- beautiful packaging, easy to open and easier to get the product out. It is scented and even came with a powder puff. Previously, I went through the Laura Mercier setting powder, which is a decent powder, but now that I can compare it to this I can tell you that Givenchy's powder has achieved Holy Grail status. I bake with this and it makes my makeup b u l l e t p r o o f. My under-eye area looks silky smooth after I swipe the powder away. My T-zone tends to get oily throughout the day and this maintains the oil seamlessly. I can go 10+ hours without touching up. One of the problems I had with the Laura Mercier powder was the beige shade, I have fair cool-toned skin and it made my complexion look yellower. This powder is chalk colored, but once I buff it off with a large powder brush with powder foundation I find that it melts into your skin tone nicely. Ever since I started using this my makeup looks nicer and lasts all day, my only concern is that I will run out faster. The Laura Mercier powder lasted me about 10 months, hopefully this one will last long enough to justify the price tag. <span class="shop__a pd-reviews__expand-link pd-reviews__translate-span" data-hide="3711397794887925915-full" data-show="3711397794887925915-short" jsaction="pdui.tvc">« less</span>" - Sephora user

Candleglow Sheer Perfecting Powder by Laura Mercier

"This is exactly what I hoped it would be - a lightweight setting powder that would be mostly invisible but "set" undereye concealer and other liquid face products so powder products go on smoothly over them. Similar to Hourglass Ambient Light powders, which I like but always had trouble finding the right shade. I'm a light/medium olive/neutral and Light works for me. This powder will NOT make you dewy and it is NOT a highlighting powder unless you wear a dead matte product under it - then I guess it may create some shine on top. But just applied with a powder brush onto bare skin or a dewy finish foundation, it will essentially be invisible (assuming you find the right shade for you). It has an ever-so-slight pore blurring effect but nothing significant. No problems getting product onto brush whatsoever. But again, you have to swatch heavily to get this stuff to show up but that's exactly what I like about it. Final note - the colors are a little deceptively named. I would say light is more light/medium and would not work on fair or light skin tones. Light is also a little peachy so if your skin has no peach tones in it, it may look weird." - sephora user

Shine Free Oil-Control Loose Powder by Maybelline

"My only complaint is that the photo shows the old metal containers and this still comes in the plastic packaging...which is less aesthetically pleasing to me. But first world problem, right? This powder never fails. I am fairly fair yet use the medium shade over a lighter liquid foundation base, or by itself over my moisturizer & it blends exquisitely. I use a big brush, because I don't like how to poofs age and get cakey, so there really is nothing to not like. I wouldn't say it's full coverage, but that also depends how you apply it. I love this product, have been using it for years. " - ulta.com user

Face Powder by marcelle

"Seriously love everything from this brand! I have freckled olive skin that is affected by rosacea, acne, scarring and pitting, flakiness, etc. I usually need some amount of coverage but am wary of my face products looking caked on. I don't mind my freckles showing or even a bit of the flaws - my goal is to look real but subtly evened out - can you relate?! I was using a concoction of part colored mineral powder mixed with part "colorless" setting powder. Well, the setting powder leaves a white cast like baby powder but using just the colored mineral powder on its own looked too caked on and even orangey. So, the combo was good for the time but I knew I could do better. The Marcelle powder I ordered is so soft and fine! I tried it on its own (over concealer and BB cream) but it was too sheer, I felt that I needed more coverage still. So I mixed it with my mineral powder and not only is it the right coverage but what a difference from the other combination I was using. No powdery cast or cakeyness at all - my skin actually looks fresh and even my wrinkles look good. Wonderful products - Marcelle never lets me down. If this doesn't work for you on its own I suggest trying different combinations with other powders for the perfect look. <span class="shop__a pd-reviews__expand-link pd-reviews__translate-span" data-hide="7031506325614835667-full" data-show="7031506325614835667-short" jsaction="pdui.tvc">« less</span>" - Birchbox user

Wowder by Glossier

"Wowder is my first and so far only Glossier product and I am so obssessed. I have DRY sensitive eczema skin. Usually, powders create noticible dry patches across my face, but no powder = my makeup is gone within a few hours. I have no idea how this powder is simultaneously so lightweight and non-irritating while also smoothing my skin, but it is. On an average day now, I only wear concealer and this powder and it gives me very natural, even, non-oily but not cakey finish. Will never use another powder. Also, Glossier has the cutest packaging ever and includes so many extra goodies. I cant wait to try more of their products, just have to save up as it is a step-up from my usual drug-store pricing." - glossier user

Dermafinish Setting Powder by vichy

"Bought this powder when buying the Vichy foundation (love that product) and it is good value for price considering the amount you get. Colour Appeal: BareMinerals do a similar colour powder known as Mineral Veil which is great and so I was attracted to the translucent colour of this powder. The powder appears to be white when opened but blends to be, like BareMinerals, a 'veil' over your face. I apply false tan sometimes and change my colour foundation and this powder still adjusts to the colour of my face. Effectiveness/loglivity: I have combined these two as I feel that the purpose of powder is to give a matte finish all day. This product definately does that and sets the Vichy Dermablnd foundation fantastically. I recently had to use a cheaper powder as I misplaced this one and the difference in my face was astonishing and made me realise the Dermablend setting powder definately does what it says! Only thing I would say is my T Zone tends to get a bit oily after about 4 hours wear. Ease of use: The powder has a few holes in the top to shake out the product but it tends to collect when the pot has been moved about alot. I removed the little pad and tip a small amount into the lid and use a large face brush to collect it. Any excess is tipped back into the top of the pot but there is sometimes some spillage. However, the translucency of this product means very little mess! I would definately recommend this product if you're looking for a powder that achieves a matte finish but doesn't clog your pores and so perfect with Dermablend foundation! <span class="shop__a pd-reviews__translate-span">« less</span>" - Escentual user

Match Perfection Silky Loose Face Powder by Rimmel

"One of the only powders Ive been happy to use and I do not regret it! Its the first loose powder I ever was happy enough to buy and since buying it, I never looked back to pressed powders again! I just think that loose powder has a much more smoothing effect on my skin and looks a lot less powdery and heavy. Also, I feel it helps with my oily skin, and keeps my skin matte for a lot longer which is helpful! The scent is another aspect I love, its a very subtle scent that can easily miss but if you catch the scent, its a slightly sweet, typical makeup scent. I know that thats the worst description of a scent ever but I suppose youll just have to buy and see for yourself! " - rimmellondon.com user

High Definition Undereye Powder by e.l.f.

"Overall: it's not just worth it as a $3 undereye setter but it's better than other high end splurges I've made. It just works. I'm SO HAPPY!Product: the consistency of powder is very fine. Finer than bare minerals veil or Clinique's translucent finishing powder. It's very lightweight and it sets my concealer perfectly. (Also there's no glitter, which older/"most helpful" rated reviews say). My concealer doesn't crease at all.Use: I use it to set my under eyes and on my SMILE lines if I wear foundation. I have blue/green veins under my eyes (on the outer edge of my orbits, above that cheekbone arch) so sometimes I just wear concealer on the under eyes, right where it can crease up. But not anymore. Also really helped create a seamless transition between the concealed under eye and my bare skin. Also since my skin is dry except sometimes on my nose and between my brows, I've been throwing this in my little cross body bag when I go out to use as a touch up powder and it works great (matte).Color: It has a white peachy/pink cast looking at it but it applies on "colorless" to white. Sort of how when you apply baby powder to the skin and its sheer but it's white (except not that opaque and dramatic). It ends up giving a matte brightening effect.Packaging: So the size is small (very small) but I've been using it for a month and I won't need to replace for a long while. And like I already said, perfect size to throw in your bag. Now this little baby jar packaging is adorable but there's something about the shape and the finely milled powder that makes it a little messy (but it's a loose powder). But you don't have to worry about it if you toss it in your bag or anything. And if you get it on a black dress, brush it right off- it won't leave that fall out residue like other powders. « less" - elfcosmetics.com user
