HANDS DOWN best primer for OILY skin!

I've tried almost every primer out there--Becca, Too Faced, Smashbox, Make Up For Ever, Lorac, Japonesque, and more! Everything that was recommended for oily skin, I would try and nothing ever lived up to the hype. I thought I was destined to have an oily face forever. Normally I apply and, no matter what I tried, only about 1-2 hours later my makeup becomes absorbed by the oil on my face and I'm super shiny and look like I don't have any makeup on. It was so frustrating! NOT THE CASE WITH THIS PRIMER! I got a sample of this and was not expecting much, especially since I'm not a huge Benefit fan, but I was SO IMPRESSED! This is a dream come true. It applies easily and evenly, very smooth, not sticky or oily, it's essentially colorless, has a light and pleasant scent, and it holds onto my makeup for 8 hours. 8 FULL HOURS! That is unheard of with my skin. It's beautifully mattifying and my makeup goes on and stays on evenly. No patchiness or blotchiness! It makes my makeup apply really natural and flawless. I sometimes still need a little blotting on my forehead but overall this primer is phenomenal. It really holds onto the makeup well. I think if you have dry skin, this formula could be too drying for you but if you've got oily skin like I do, I would highly suggest trying this out! It hasn't caused me a single breakout or any other adverse reaction. This creates a perfect canvas for your makeup, and has now been incorporated into my daily routine. I'm SO GLAD I found this!!! I can't talk this primer up enough! Less

can't live without

Awesome for large pores, oily skin, and keeping makeup fresh all day. I'm a 35 yr old woman with a history of bad acne and severely oily skin combined with dry skin. My acne and scars are gone but I was left with huge pores all over my face. My skin is so oily that 2 hours after applying makeup it's all gone. I had given up on finding a product to hide my pores and I tried a sample of this when I was looking for yet another primer that would make my makeup stay put and help reduce shine from excessive oil. Porefessional went above and beyond my expectations. It instantly takes years off my face, it hides my pores better than anything else and stops my skin from getting oily (I used to blot oil like every hour and now I may have to blot once a day). It keeps my makeup looking fresh all day. This product is my one must have item. I've used it for several yrs now. Most of the time I don't even have to wear foundation b/c this primer alone makes my skin look so smooth and even and hides minor blemishes. I can even use it when my skin is dry n flakey (most products would only enhance the appearance of the dry flakes, this hides it). I rarely even wear foundation anymore and for me that is a huge deal. With my skin I would've never dreamed I could leave the house without foundation. Now for my daily makeup I just use Porefessional and then finishing powder and my skin looks great. U just have to be sure to wash it off good at night to prevent clogged pores. I purchase this in the jumbo size every time and using it daily lasts me about 6 months. If this product was $300 a tube I would still buy it and it would be worth every cent. Less

What else can I ask for

I have been using this product for 1 week now and absolutely feel amazed. My skin is very oily and usually my face becomes shiny after 1-2 hours wearing makeup. I've been trying many products but they have very little effect on my skin. I try to avoid heavy products like liquid foundation because it only makes the situation worse. So I have been looking for a light tinted BB cream or primer that does a bit coverage but most of all, has to control oil. And on one lucky day I found this product :). My routine is toner, moisturizer, and sunscreen. Now that I have Benefit PORE primer, I put it on after these steps. For the first few minutes, I do not notice much and seems that the primer does not do any coverage at all. But then I put on blush, lipstick and the cream starts blending in my face and shows the great results. My skin does look smoother with more even texture but still keeps the natural look. The first time I tried this primer, I went out for hiking and sweat a lot but when I went to the bathroom to check on my face, oh my, i could not even tell that I just came back from a one-hour hiking trip (and this was in Malaysia, a tropical country with very high humidity). I feel incredibly lucky for finding this product. Of course if you have oily skin, regardless of what products, you cannot expect your make up face to be like normal or dry skin types. After few hours, I still have to check on my face and use tissue to dry my nose area and then I am good to go for another few hours. I'm telling you this works so much better than any other products I've been purchased. And I have never felt that confident going out on a sunny day wearing make up. Keep in mind that my face does not have any redness and most of the time my skin looks even (except when I am about the have period, then I will get some pimples). So for those who looks for a product with much coverage, this is probably not a good fit. Only some SPF would make this product perfect I wish. Less

Not great mixed with a matte foundation

So I've been a fan of a lot of benefit products and wanted to try this since it's so popular... I naturally have really dry skin and honestly don't struggle THAT much with pores or anything, but because I use the fit me foundation I wanted something that would help keep it on... even with the all nighter setting spray this stuff separated my foundation into these weird spots on my pores and in certain places my foundation came off completely!!! Would NOT recommend for dry skin AT ALL!! Doesn't spread easy even when I went back again and tried it over a moisturizer. I'm going to return it and try the elf putty primer instead. Super disappointing.

Combo or Oily Skin Havers Rejoice!

So, up front, I have Oily combination skin that is incredibly sensitive. This product is non oily, & while it minimizes the look of pores incredibly-it's not pore-clogging.Helps makeup stay put through the long 12 hour shifts I work, as well as keeps oil from peeking through for almost 8 hours, that's a record for any primer I've used before! The one caveat to this product is it is very much an oil absorbing type, for obvious reasons; it's clearly meant for folks with large pores & oily or combination skin. If you have dryer, more hypersensitive skin, this is definitely not the product for you; it will absolutely dry you out or cause your skin to flake. If you have skin like mine, or even oilier, however, this is your dream boat. Moisturize, slap this baby on, let it sit for a bit(I do my eyes), then go on with the rest of your routine-resting comfortable in the knowledge it's going to stay put.OVERALL-Mattifying-Creamy-Gentle on Skin-Oil Absorbing-Long Lasting-A little stingy(Takes a bit more product than expected for full coverage)-Subtle(Doesn't have an over the top scent)-Pore Minimizing-Evens complexion subtly-A bit drying, not for dry skin users-Cleans off well with cleanser Less

I love the Porefessional primer for minimizing pores. I also like to mix it with a hydrating primer since my skin is dry but for oily skin this primer on its own should work perfectly

Best primer for acne prone combination skin? I’ve been skipping primers because I’m afraid they will clog my pores. But I know I should be using one. Can anyone suggest one that they have had good experience with for acne prone skin?

You need a pore filling primer first! This one is really nice. You also need a medium to full coverage foundation on top. Try the Too Faced Born This Way foundation
