GORGEOUS color, long-lasting!

OMG -- I have combination skin and I always loved how natural cream blushes appear on the skin but they always left me feeling greasy -- but not with this blush! Dandelion dew is SUCH a stunning pink. I rub it between my fingers, pat it on my cheeks, and gently blend downwards to spread the color. It has a tacky, rather than slippery texture, which is great for my skin type. It's buildable and easy to blend. I apply it over my Giorgio Armani power fabric foundation (I'm shade 3 for reference) and set my face with a very light dusting of sheer powder. The blush lasts all day! It does appear dewy throughout the day, which I think looks pretty and natural. Will definitely repurchase. Again, the color is just stunning!!!

Sweet & Subtle

Since I am extremely fair, I am using this more as a blush than a highlighter, but can see how it works as both. It is a very soft, pale ballerina pink with subtle shimmer. It is not heavily pigmented, so it takes a couple of sweeps across my cheeks to give me a soft pink flush. I also use it around my temples, nose, and chin to create a nice glow. On the skin, this leaves just a whisper of baby pink with a slightly luminous finish. You can layer it for more color, but it is always going to be light. It can start leaning a little chalky with a heavy application, so be sure to blend. The formula is a finely-milled powder, but it does not fly everywhere with a swirl of the brush. It does have a flowery scent, but that does not transfer to your skin. I am very sensitive to fragrances and this does not bother me at all. I'm not the biggest fan of the cardboard box as it does not seem luxurious and is a little awkward to open. It is also kind of bulky and takes up more room than I'd like in my cosmetics case. But, you do get lots of product for the money. If you are fair and looking for just a hint of pink, this is a great blush and highlighter. For those with a darker complexion, this is probably a highlighter/brightener only. I am really enjoying this for a sweet and natural look. I love this paired with Dior Addict Urban lipstick which is a sheer, pale pink lipstick with soft shimmer. They look like they were made for each other. « less

I Feel TOTALLY Taken Advantage of...

I can't remember the last time I submitted a review. Reason is, I never really feel compelled to give my opinion on a product unless there happens to be something quite significant about it (whether it be something positive or something negative) that I feel is extremely important to share.I actually feel quite upset and a bit frustrated in writing this, specifically because my negative rating has nothing to do with the blush's performance itself at all. In fact, I am actually really obsessed with Benefit's new blush (in terms of color, wear, staying power, etc)- which is what makes this review even harder to write. Let me get right into it...As the biggest & most loyal Benefit fan ever, I feel totally "tricked".. and I honestly mean both of those things. I really am and have been obsessed with Benefit for years and have never had a negative thing to say about any of their products, their brand. In fact- I absolutely LOVE every single thing about their brand and their makeup.. until I got the "Rockateur" in the mail.. and I opened it.Don't get me wrong- as I just mentioned, the blush is absolutely STUNNING. It's beautiful to look at in the package, but most importantly, it looks gorgeous on. The included brush makes it extremely easy to apply on my cheekbones and it feels so light on my skin I couldn't even tell I was wearing it. The color payoff is great, it stays on pretty much all day, and the pink shade looks so chic, effortless & natural- while the hint of the rose gold color gives my cheeks the perfect amount of glow. The combination of the pink with the rose gold is honestly just stunning.. and comes across just as Benefit describes it: Sexy.See- it really is such a beautiful blush, and in my opinion, the perfect combination of rose gold & pink, that if it weren't for the sneaky way it's packaged, this would be a new HG blush for me without a doubt. So here's why I'm really upset and angry. When you get the blush in person, the box size looks relatively the same size as all the other Box O' Powders. Not that I expected the size to be any different from Benefit's other powders, because it is priced the same as all the other powders. In ads & photos & promo videos nothing about the Rockateur's packaging stood out to me as being any different either. The reason why the Rockateur Blush's packaging and size didn't stand out to me or look different to me than other Benefit's powders is because for the most part, the size of the box is pretty much the same.So I open the box. Are you kidding me?? I swear, at first, I almost thought that I received a defective item. Did I receive a sample? I seriously was SO confused. The amount of powder in the pan inside the box is a JOKE. I immediately grabbed all of my other Benefit Powder boxes to compare. The Pans in all the other powders I own from benefit come up to about 3/4 of the box, the last 1/4 of the box is taken up by the brush & brush tray.I am not even close to kidding when I say that this pan takes up LESS than 1/4 of the boxes depth. There is literally NO powder in the pan compared to ALL of Benefits other box o powders. I did the math, and Rockateur contains less than HALF of the other powders. Now, this really wouldn't be an issue for me or make me so upset if the price of Rockateur was significantly lower than the prices of all the other box o powders- but it's not.Just like all the others: Sugarbomb, Bella Bamba, Dandelion, etc etc, it is $28.Its quite possible that some people may say its my fault for not checking the weight of the item before I purchased it.. and maybe it is. But I am being honest when I say that thinking to check the weight of Rockateur before I purchased it didn't even cross my mind, being that Rockateur is priced at $28, the same exact price of all the other boxes of powder. Also, the fact that the box is advertised & photographed as being pretty much the same size box as all the other powders, AND also is pretty much the same size box as all the other powder boxes when compared in person (give or take a mm?), I never ever gave the possibility of the weight of Rockateur to be significantly less than the weight of Benefit's other powders, since they are priced the same! The reason I titled this review "I feel totally taken advantage of" is because I honestly and truly do. I feel tricked. The weight of Rockateur is .17oz. ... The weight of HOOLA, Hervana, Bella Bamba? .28oz!!! The weight of Dallas? .. .32oz!!! Are you kidding me?I really feel like this was intentional on Benefit's part. If I offend Benefit or anyone else by saying that, I apologize.. but I, as a loyal and committed Benefit customer for years.. I feel offended! If it wasn't Benefit's intentions to trick customers into paying the same exact price for Rockateur as they pay for the other Box O Powders, except with Rockateur they are getting WAY less powder than the others - why price it at $28? Why put the 2mm high pan in a full size box? With the price of Rockateur & the box of Rockateur being the same as the other powders, am I wrong in saying I feel tricked ? It wasn't until I opened the box and saw the powder that I was aware of how little we get for the price. I can't even reach down to the powder with the brush easily because the pan is so low down to the bottom that its hard to get my hand into the box properly. All I can say is that I am really upset that my favorite brand actually did something so sketchy like this. « less

Very Versatile Product!

I really love the subtle shimmer and brightening effect that you get from this highlighter, and it has such a silky smooth texture too. You can highlight, brighten under the eyes, or even mix it with your foundation for a luminous and dewy glow! What I've also noticed over time (especially upon comparing it to e.l.f.'s $3 version) is that while you can sheer out the pink, the silvery-white shimmer sort of "clings" to your skin and stays put, almost like a stain would do.My only real gripe with this product is the packaging. The glass bottle makes it nearly impossible to use all of it up, because the product itself is just thick enough that it doesn't really move when you tilt the bottle. Even after leaving it upside-down and letting it all seep down, I still couldn't really get it all with the brush. Considering what I paid for this stuff and how good it is, I really don't want to have to waste any of it! I almost took off one star because of this, but the five-star rating solely reflects the quality of the product itself. « less

Benefit is my favorite brand of cosmetics. I love everything I've tried. I became introduced to Benefit Cosmetics because of That Gal, Benetint and High Beam. I discovered "That Gal" when I complimented a total stranger on her awesome looking skin, only to be told it was Benefit's "That Gal." Lemon-Aid is on my top three products of things I'd take if I was going to be stuck on an island... I've since tried most of the Benefit products. I've been impressed every time.Benetint is a tnted cheek (and also lip) stain. It's deeper than Posietint, and was marketed first. Posietint is a peachy pink (more pink than peachy) tint that looks very natural. When you it, it looks as if the blush is all you, and not something that came from a bottle or tube... Because it's a stain, it stays in place once applied. High Beam is a highlighter which was designed to be used alone. It enhances the look of Benetint and Posietint. It can be used as a highlighter on your cheeks. You can use it under your eyebrows. It's very versatile. My Sephora rep suggested that for best results, I OUTLINE a circle lightly on my cheeks with the brush (which stays conveniently in place inside the jar until needed) from either Benetint or Posietint. I then apply High Beam, the highlighter, across the very top of the circle. I blend both on my cheeks with my fingers, the way you'd blend any blush or powder. High Beam is a Benefit highlighter that is made to complement Benetint and Posietint. Since they dry quickly, as they're supposed to (which is part of the ultimate appeal of these products staying put), do only one cheek at a time. Blend quickly. That's one of the huge benefits of the product - once dried it stays in place until you wash it off. Since Posietint, Benetint and High Beam are waterproof, this is great way to look great at the gym or if you're playing an outdoor sport where other products would either fade or "melt" away. I have a friend who wears this into the sauna and whirlpool and she says it lasts in steamy conditions, too. It removes easily with make-up remover or soap or cleanser when you want to take it off.Another great thing about these products is that they can be worn to work in the morning, and you'll still be radiant if you're going out after work for a night on the town (or a romantic evening at home). It doesn't need to be reapplied. Sometimes I use them alone, and sometimes I use them over That Gal, which is an all over face primer, in a pale pink shade. Either way, the effect is totally natural and my skin looks perfect. High Beam also look great when used alone with That Gal. You can also use it in conjunction with most any other make-up or face products. (If you want a smaller size to keep in your purse or to travel with, Benefit sells smaller ones in various kits which are also great values. But once again, you don't need to carry anything for reapplication - this does not generally need to be reapplied during the day, not even if you've spent part of it poolside. It lasts...I've never once had to reapply).Benetint, High Beam and Posietint (the peachy pink tint) are the best tints and highlighter that you can find. The container seems to last forever, so it must cost only pennies per application, if that. They don't dry out if kept closed so it's not something needed to be replaced frequently. I think I've been using my Benetint and High Beam for over a year, and I still have more than 3/4 of the original jar of Benetint, and even though I use High Beam constantly, you can barely tell it's been used.. These three products look more natural on application than anything else I've seen or tried. They're great additions to your make up collection. « less

This is more of a natural contour when you use it with a light hand. Blends out really easy. I have sensitive skin and it does not irritate my skin at all.
