Awful!

I love Becca products and was looking for an extremely full coverage foundation - after hearing youtubers rave about it, watching demos of application, and reading reviews (most of which pretty much gave this foundation a 5/5) I decided to try it. For this to be useful for anybody, I'll have to include what type of skin I have... I don't need full coverage by any means, I have extremely clear, smooth, blemish free skin, but I have always just preferred full coverage to boost my skin up even more and cover some freckles and slight redness around my nose area. I have extremely dry skin naturally but have gotten it under control through use of good moisturizers and a hydrating skin care routine in general, so for the time being my skin is just normal to mildly dry. First, I can tell you you have to work QUICK! I've always applied dots of foundation throughout my entire face and then blended with a beauty blender, but with this I had to work in sections or else I'd have darker marks where the foundation would start to dry and I wouldn't be able to blend those marks out. I only used a small amount of this since it was full coverage, I didn't need much, but even with the small amount I was using this looked VERY cakey and splotchy on my skin... I have no idea how someone who needs more product would be able to get it to not look cakey. Another thing is this foundation would actually lift and smear as I was trying to blend it, and when I used a primer underneath it began to actually peel off like dry skin does. I kept trying to use this and was determined to make it work for me, but no matter what primer I used, which method of blending I used, brush or beauty blender, etc. I wasn't able to ever make this look good on my skin. It always came out looking so caked on . Overall, makeup products, especially foundation, works differently on different skin types and textures (clearly!) and this was a total fail for my skin personally. I was so disappointed because I really felt like this had the potential to be amazing. I've found other amazing foundations but wanted something that had extreme full coverage without the look of full coverage and let me tell you... you WILL look like you're wearing heavy foundation when you have this on. Let my experience be a great example of how you really have to try certain things out for yourself to see if it will work for you because some people love this foundation but to be totally honest I haven't even tried anything from the drug store that was this bad on my skin. « less

Love!

I am constantly in search of the perfect liquid foundation. I always find myself falling back to a mineral powder formula as I work very long hours and it's just easier to touch up, and seems to stay set longer. I seriously have tried every liquid known to man -- NARS, HD, Lancome, etc. etc. This is the first liquid foundation that I didn't just "try" for a week and end up returning. Absolutely love it. No foundation, ever, has ever managed to last this long either. I'll just put a VERY light dusting of powder at my lunch break to remove some shine and I'm good to go. For me, with super oily skin, that's pretty much a miracle. The color match is the best I've ever found. I'm noisette, and it's the perfect neutral [even tones of pink and olive]. Everything either goes too pink on me, or too olive, both of which look awful, this is just right. My one hope is once summer winds down, that I can find the equivalent color match just one shade lighter once my tan fades. A few of the "cons" -- although, not enough for me to knock a star: I agree with some comments, you have to work FAST with this foundation. It seems to set very quickly, so you don't have the same amount of time to blend as you do with others. As with any foundation, however, you just learn the tricks of applying that specific one. Do I wish I had a bit more time to apply? Sure, but I've just figured out how to get this applied quickly. Another thing, and I feel with oily skin this does tend to happen sometimes, as the day goes on, I feel like the color goes a little "darker" as it mixes in with my oil. I am not sure if it's because the color is super concentrated in this, or what. I don't think it's so major I turn noticeably darker to other people [asked my husband and a few others and he doesn't notice], but it's enough that I notice, and a friend who is more in tune to "make up." Again, the overall pros far outweigh this, but just a comment, and this is also after ALL DAY wear. All that being said --- this is a GREAT foundation that you can build to medium coverage [i wouldn't consider this heavy coverage, I have a few hyper pigmentation spots from old acne that it covers VERY well, but not like it has disappeared. "Disappearing" I would consider heavy]. It leaves me skin feeling dewey, I've never broken out with it, and has beautiful coverage. Must have! « less

Love this, my go to product! Convert as of late '16

I was looking for a new foundation to replace my go to at the time. LG had changed their formulation and their color range for skin tones, (no longer matched what I was buying). Based on reviews I decided to start looking. I was in Ulta and knew of Becca, but honestly was a little nervous about trying their brand (always glowing reviews), pun intended. However, I did not know how it would work for me if I could find the right color, (all the things we go through when making that move). I was fortunate to have a makeup artist from Becca in the store that evening and she was wonderful. She asked what I liked in a product and we started from there. We looked at a few colors on my skin and marked some off the list (too light, too gold, etc). She combined the rose gold liquid luminizer with sand and voila, my match :) I loved how it felt on my skin, it looked fantastic (took years off) and did not settle into fine lines and wrinkles. The product is buildable, very easy to blend out, and looks great dewy or matte (all in how you set it). If you have a Clarisonic (the new brush head works great with this). It feels lightweight on and I do not feel like I am wearing a "mask" of foundation (flashback to the 90's and late 80's). I am 47 and hooked on Becca. I do use both the backlight primer and the purple primer (depends on need). Blurring powder is amazing. I do hope they make the Prismatic highlight a permanent part of the line!!!! I am having fun with it. Sorry for going a bit off-topic with their other products, I am just enjoying them so much as I discover them. I find this to be my holy grail of foundations and have tried plenty. I feel like you get your money's worth. I am still on my original bottles and wear makeup most days of the week. My original purchase was late 2016. I have two sets of back-ups (I am ready to break into one, and bought another set). « less

Holy Grail Status!

I always give my products a test drive before I wear them to an event. So Christmas Eve I was having a party and I wanted a long lasting foundation with medium to full coverage, and also looks good in photos. I'm 38 years old so I do have some fine lines and my skin is normal to dry. What drew to this foundation is that it's a creme and that the average foundation formula usually contains 10 to 15 percent pigment and 5 to 10 percent water, whereas this product contains 21 percent pure pigment and 22 percent water. So Christmas eve morning I washed my face applied my skin care and put on the foundation with no primer. I used one pump for my entire face. Worked in sections, dabbed some dots in area with my finger and blended it with a buffing brush. I was immediately happy with the results, it's thick but not cakey, it's doesn't feel like your wearing a mask. Didn't settle into my fine lines, I even applied some under my eyes which I normally don't do with my foundation. I put concealer on so the less product I use under my eyes the less creases I get. So I was cleaning house, cooking, taking care of my 3 year old twin girls. I was sweating! I was amazed four hours later when I look in the mirror and my foundation look just as good as it did when I first applied it. No crazy creasing at all. My undereyes looked awesome! Side note I did try the Make Up Forevers HD foundation months ago which has such amazing reviews. I personally hated it! As soon as I put it on it sucked any moisture I had on face, I was itchy. I washed it off immediately and for days after my skin felt rhinos butt! But this foundation by Becca is awsome! I personally have never been this excited over a foundation! The night of my Christmas eve party I applied a pump and a half to give me more full coverage in my trouble areas and it held up beautifully never look cakey it somehow looks full coverage but a natural full coverage that's what I personally love about it! i'm sure I could even wear it on a daily basis just apply it more lightly probably with a beauty blender. The only thing that threw me off when it came to this foundation is its color selection. I'm normally in the median family when it comes to foundation when I tried out the lightest shade in the medium family it was very very orange, I ended up getting the darkest shade in the light family which is buttercup it has more of a yellow undertone and it matched me beautifully. My only suggestion is when purchasing get matched. I will most definitely be repurchasing I'll be there in the summer getting matched for my summer shade! I'm officially on the Becca train wagon LOL Less
