An excellent choice for those with sensitive skin

I've been using Basis Sensitive Skin Bars off-and-on since childhood. I have sensitive skin and occasionally have bad outbreaks of eczema on my arms and legs. Thankfully, these episodes have become much less frequent over time, but when they happen, I use Basis until they clear up. Other gentle soaps would probably be fine too, but I know that Basis is a safe choice that won't further irritate the affected areas. My biggest gripe about Basis Sensitive Skin Bars is that they can be a bit difficult to find locally; I usually order mine online, but this means I have to think ahead so I have them on hand if eczema strikes. They are a bit pricier than other soaps but I don't mind paying a premium for a product that I know works for me.EffectivenessBasis Sensitive Skin Bars get your skin clean very gently, without dryness or irritation.ScentBasis Sensitive Skin Bars have very little scent, which is ideal, not only because they don't have perfumes to irritate my skin, but also because it means they aren't too feminine for my husband to use too. « less

Allergic Reaction and Breakouts

I've been suffering from a horrible rash/welts the last 3 1/2 months that was diagnosed as some sort of allergic reaction and have been trying to find products that help. This was not one of them. I'd been covered in hives on my chest, arms, back, legs, etc. and have tried numerous soaps. This soap immediately made everything worse after showering once with it. I immediately noticed a new rash on my arms that wasn't previously there prior to taking the shower (15 min shower - nothing major!) In addition, presumably the petrolatum (petroleum jelly aka vaseline) in it also made me break out with acne on my upper back, which normally isn't an issue with almost any other soaps. Probably switching back to Dove original white (one of the two Dove bars that does not contain Dipropylene Glycol, which can cause allergic reactions) or liquid castile soaps for the time being, unless something better comes along. I had high hopes for this product and am glad it has helped others, but I wasn't one of them. Dr. Woods baby mild unscented castile soap bar is good or also try WM equate hypoallergenic baby wash as a body wash with a bath pouf which has worked better for me as well. « less

A relief for sensitive skin!

I found this Basis bar of soap for sensitive skin years ago when I was looking for something to help my eczema. This worked great. Even when my eczema is doing pretty good I still have sensitive skin, so I'm pretty picky about which products I try on my skin. This bar of soap worked well. I also like to find products that are free of fragrances, dyes and chemicals. This one is and is a more natural soap. It also has chamomile and aloe vera in it, which was nice. There really isn't any scent to this, but I was looking for something like that. These are a pretty good price for something that helps sensitive skin and skin problems. I have switched to other products since this, but would use this again. It goes on well and works. It also seems to last me longer than other soaps do. It was a great soap!EffectivenessIt is effective in helping sensitive skin. It did well at getting your skin clean and not bothering skin problems.ScentIt really didn't smell like anything, but it was fragrance free. « less
