Any good face masks to help with my skin? The one I’m currently using leaves my T-Zone red and irritated but the rest of my face is fine. I’ve got dry skin that’s only gotten worse in the winter no matter what I do

Cannabliss organic foaming cleanser is really good. You get a deep clean without drying out your skin.

What’s the best cleanser ? Can be high end or drugstore , I have acne prone skin! I’ve been using cetaphil but found it it’s not the best on your skin and my skin has been worse since using.

best drugstore cleaners? i don’t have a ton of acne but i have breakouts on my nose and t-zone. also, my skin dries out easily so it can’t be very drying. i am also looking for a good lip balm because i’m obsessed with lip care lol.

Currently searching for products to use on my birthday and I need advice on primers, longwearing foundations, concealers and powders with no flashback. So far I’m interested in trying Charlotte Tilbury’s most recent foundation and the pressed powder. Any luxury recommendations that are worth the splurge and hold up on combo/oily skin? I struggle with a lot of shine mainly between my brows and around my nose :)

What’s the consensus on fragrance in your skin care. Like I hear it’s bad and then I hear it’s fine?! I just don’t know if I should be trying to get all my skincare without any added fragrance?

Fragrance can cause redness, irritation, and breakouts for those with sensitive skin. If your skin isn’t too sensitive then fragrance shouldn’t really effect you, but if you are still unsure than you could always be on the safe side. But make sure you get a toner with no alcohol in it. I recommend the Pixi Glow Tonic.

I’ve been there and am still there some days (hormonal acne) but it’s gotten a lot better. My skincare is kinda crazy but it’s the only thing that works. I use a benzoyl face wash, witch hazel toner, face cream, vitamin C, and curology...yes..it’s a lot but works!

What’s your skin care routine? Just trying to figure out when I should exfoliate and/or apply moisturizer
Profile picture of annie john

You should exfoliate after using your cleanser. I use cerave foaming cleanser it’s good. You should moisturize when you’re finished doing everything like applying toner, acids( salicylic, hyaluronic, lactic etc) or whatever you use after cleansing and exfoliating. If you don’t have any of those it’s fine, just skip to your moisturizer.

I’ve asked for recommendations for foundations a bit lately but I always ask for drugstore products. Now I’m just asking for any suggestions for foundations for dry skin, my go to has been e.l.f. Flawless Finish Foundation but now with the weather changing even it’s looking kind of dry and flaky on me, even though I’ve switched to my thick moisturizer and prep my skin thoroughly beforehand. I really want to find a foundation with good coverage that’s also very hydrating and I just haven’t had any luck with any I’ve tried so far, so any suggestions are much appreciated.

With so many people moving into serums and acids just a reminder: You should NOT mix these VITAMIN C + AHAS/BHAS : Combining retinol with Vitamin C is a recipe for peeling, redness and irritation, in short, a total disaster for the health of your skin RETINOIDS + AHAS/BHAS: damages skin moisture barrier and can cause irritation, redness, dry skin over time; use separately and sparingly RETINOIDS + VITAMIN C: may cause over exfoliation, resulting in increased skin and sun sensitivity; separate into day/night routines Benzoyl peroxide + vitamin C OIL-BASED + WATER-BASED. GLYCOLIC ACID + SALICYLIC ACID: too many acids can strip the skin and damage its ability to recover NIACINAMIDE + VITAMIN C: use in careful moderation. Some studies show that They stabilize each other some shoe that mixing vitamin c can result in a niacin flush (red irritation to the skin). -Retinols should mostly be used at night - Vitamin C should mostly be used at night -Wait 20 mins when layering multiple serums (if you find your skin can tolerate it in one setting) -Don’t forger your SPF 30 during the day -When introducing acids to your face “purging” is only normal to a certain extent

These are references telling you how antioxidants differ from acids. And that all do not exfoliate.

@Ayan Qureshi you go to one website which is Paulas choice and not any other website that was reviewed by a dermatologist .. no where does it says it was .. I’ve given you three different website (healthline, WEBMD, and a professional Chemist) and all you have is a Paulas choice website lmaooo

Thoughts on The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution? I know tons of people rave about it but I’m debating about biting the bullet and trying it with my sensitive skin.

It’s really good but the ordinary doesn’t recommend people who have sensitive skin to use it although I did read on their reviews, if i remember correctly, that some people who have sensitive skin said that they loved it🤷🏽‍♀️idk what’s that about but if you do end up getting it do a patch test first.

@Amira Stephens See my skin is pretty weird, I had a bad reaction to 2% salicylic acid pads a few years ago. Yet since then, when I’ve used other products (even with salicylic acid in it) like acne treatments that you have to slowly start up using to build immunity, I’ve had absolutely no problems and it doesn’t take near as long to be able to use daily. That’s why I’ve been kind of iffy.

@nicole21 forever yes you're right to get a patch test. I hear it's v hit/miss w sensitive skin but if you are tolerant w salycilic acid at least w sensitive skin you are safe to use this once a week for 10 mins max

hey guys :) so i am 16 years old and i want to try a skin care routine. factoring in my age and stuff what are some things and necessities i would need for a good nightly skin care routine? (if there are any specific recommendations: hopefully drugstore/walmart?)

I highly reccommend toning your face! I love using witch hazel it is gentle and good for all skin types but bc you have sensitive skin I would reccommend the alcohol free versions! I get mine from Walmart for a v good price ($4) but it's a diff version so you can try Walmart for yours but ik for sure they have this one @ Target!

@Allissa Hutchins haha you're good lots of people don't know bc toner is skipped out on a ton. It balances your skin pH and gets rid of extra bacteria/dirt that face washes don't always get. It's also good to do for a quick clean if you don't want to do a whole routine. If you want to use any one basic use toner!

I have dry, acne prone skin and I have been trying everything to get rid of my acne for the past year! nothing works (curology, neutrogena light mask, acne washes, tea tree oil, mario badescu- you name it!) does anyone have any recommendations for a natural at home remedy for acne? I’m done with all the chemicals ingredients on my face.

I know you said no chems but the only thing that worked for me was 1 session of a chemical peel (ask for 7 layers) and drink ONLY water in place of any other beverage. ONLy WaTeR!! Don’t believe me, look at my before and afters. Still can’t believe it’s me. - 1 session of a strong chemical peel -Drink Water ONLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -Oxy gently in circular motions until face starts feeling tingly. -and an oil free moisturizer! Let me know how it goes! Good luck!

My skin was so sensitive, I had a reaction to everything people told me to try for my acne. I finally was recommended to try curology, which was my holy grail. The cool thing is it’s personalized. You answer questions about your skin and then a professional formulates a product specifically for what you need. The first pic I’ll add is a before and after that’s 5 days apart from each other. The next pic I’ll add is like 4 months of using it when I finally felt confident with no foundation. I also will say I tested what would happened if I stopped using it, and for me I only have 1-2 pimples usually when I’m hormonal or the day after my shift at my burger shack job.

So this could sound crazy but if you have tried a bunch of things your skin could be dehydrated and overproducing oil to compensate. Maybe try extra hydration at night followed by a non stripping cleanser in the morning. I also recommend daily use of niacinamine to help reduce pore size and regulate sebum production.
