Just curious... Are there any other beauty professionals on here? I’m a certified makeup artist and I wanna know if anyone else is in the industry. I’m just starting out and wonder if anyone would have my advice on freelancing, like getting clients, building a portfolio, building kits, must haves for kits, favorite tools and products. Really any tips would help!

I am a makeup artist. The best advice I can give is to use a cream contour underneath the foundation. I recently learned this, and it has changed my game. The best cream contour palette for a makeup artist would be to invest in the RCMA palette or the MAC palette. I also apply the concealer before the foundation. Then put the foundation on top. I use a bronzer on top of the foundation. My favorite bronzer is the Benefit Hoola or the Too Faced bronzer. The physician’s formula bronzer is also something I love

Okay, this is a question for anyone that is a makeup artist with clients. I have decided that I will be purchasing shape/face tape for concealer and foundation for my clients. Now, the shade range is so large, and I am trying to save money by mixing to get certain shades. How many shades should I buy? I was trying to do a couple from each undertone and shade just to be safe. Any suggestions? 😕

So I am a makeup artist. And I also know how that feels. So what I would do is buy 3 or 5 total shades. 1. 1 shade lighter than your actual skin tone. 2. Your actual shade and 3. 1 shade darker than your skin tone. The last one is optional but I do this buy a white or the absolute lightest shade. So that way you could have options of either being good or having to mix you can.

conspiracy ok i have a conspiracy theory: so like drug store makeup (like wet n wild) will post pictures on instagram of these girls with literal art works on their eyes and u click on the photo and see that the artist only used that said stores’ foundation. like they make it look like “oh well if this model can use wet n wild products like that then [wet n wild] must me good” but it turns out all along, the artist only used [wet n wild] foundation. IM NOT TRYING TO DRAG WET N WILD OR ANY OTHER BRANDS!!! I LOVE WET N WILD AND ONLY GET DRUG STORE BRAND PRODUCTS ❤️❤️
